In this second part we learn the melody, or the "head" as it's known in jazz lingo. As we stressed in the previous lessons, knowing the basic changes and the basic melody are essential foundations for laying your jazz education on. There are so many golden ideas in this melody that you can take into your own improvisations. Music is a language, and we need to build our vocabulary.. this is the way to do it. I would highly recommend downloading the lesson materials provided at the link above.. all of the topics covered in this lesson are typed up nice and neat and provided in both guitar pro and PDF formats. Having these to hand whilst following along with the video will certainly make things much easier to absorb.
