🇮🇹 ITALIANO
Buongiorno miei carissimi Patreons / FANATICs!
Ho dovuto fare prove, ragionare sulle dimensioni, capire come farlo cadere, come dargli peso, movimento, volume.
I FANATICs, come sempre, saranno i primi a vedere qualcosa.
Restate sintonizzati, miei carissimi FANATICs.

🇬🇧 ENGLISH
Good morning my dear Patreons / FANATICs!
There are days when preparing a set does not simply mean hanging a backdrop, setting up a light or trying a new fabric.
Sometimes it means trying to put something back together, at least inside one room.
Yesterday morning I went to the studio to prepare the first set for the shooting I will do today with Manuela, a new model who will enter my photographic world for the very first time in just a few hours. It was not an easy morning: I had woken up to some painful family news, the kind that completely shifts your mood and makes you enter the day with a weight you were not expecting.
I had thought about recording a few videos while setting up the set, showing you the attempts, the doubts, the little steps of the preparation. In the end, I did not feel able to do it. I stopped several times, I had moments where it was difficult to stay focused, and I simply did what I could do in that moment: enter the studio, prepare the space, mount the fabric, and try to build an environment that could welcome Manuela in the right way today.
And perhaps precisely because of that, once it was finished, I felt even more satisfied with the result.
For this shooting I bought a completely new fabric, different from anything I have used so far. The inspiration came from an image I had seen some time ago on Instagram: a wide, important, almost regal drape, something capable of giving the set a sense of majesty, matter, sacredness.
It was not easy to handle. I had to test it, think about the dimensions, understand how to make it fall, how to give it weight, movement and volume. I wanted Manuela to be able to enter it, move through it, touch it, inhabit it.
And that word, “inhabit”, came directly from her.
I sent her two quick phone photos in advance: one of the fabric and one of the first setup already mounted. Her reply was:
“It’s beautiful, I can’t wait to inhabit it and make it come alive!”
That sentence really struck me.
Because that is exactly what I hope will happen today. Manuela is not simply arriving as a new model to photograph. She is a theatre actress and a dancer, and for me this changes a lot: it makes me imagine a presence capable of bringing not only poses into the set, but gesture, movement, intention.
Today she will also enter THE BODY project, and we will work across different registers: some more delicate, softer, more suspended; others more physical, more material, more connected to the body as form, presence, trace.
The FANATICs, as always, will be the first to see something. Tonight, if everything goes as I hope, I will share in the private chat some RAW images, untouched, exactly as they came out of the camera, and maybe also a few frames from the backstage videos we will create together.
Manuela was also very enthusiastic about taking part in the videos, so I hope today’s backstage will have a living, creative, heartfelt presence. Not just documentation of the set, but a small part of the way this shooting will begin to take shape.
Today I am not arriving at the shooting with the lightness I would have wanted.
But perhaps I am arriving with an even stronger need to transform something into an image.
And if Manuela will really be able to inhabit this set as she wrote to me, I believe something very beautiful, very physical, very delicate and, I hope, deeply alive may be born.
Stay tuned, my dear FANATICs.
In just a few hours, a new muse will enter the studio.
