Buongiorno miei carissimi FANATICs!

Oggi torno su THE BODY con il quattordicesimo corpo della serie, e ve lo dico subito: per me è uno dei capitoli più riusciti finora.

Il lavoro più complesso, questa volta, è stato in post-produzione. La modella aveva tatuaggi molto estesi, anche in zone scomode da trattare, e riportare l’immagine dentro quella pulizia visiva che caratterizza il progetto ha richiesto un intervento davvero certosino. Negli ultimi capitoli mi era capitato di lavorare molto meno su questo aspetto; qui invece la post-produzione è diventata una componente fondamentale del risultato finale, non come semplice correzione, ma come parte della trasformazione artistica dell’immagine.

La cosa più interessante è successa quando ho inviato alla modella alcune prime elaborazioni. Mi ha detto che le faceva un effetto stranissimo vedersi così, ma soprattutto che percepiva proprio una forma diversa del proprio corpo. Ed è una cosa che mi hanno già detto anche altre modelle con molti tatuaggi: il disegno sulla pelle cambia davvero il modo in cui leggiamo linee, volumi e proporzioni.

Questo è uno degli aspetti che rende THE BODY così particolare per me. Ogni corpo entra nella serie con una storia diversa, una fisicità diversa e un lavoro diverso alle spalle, ma alla fine tutto viene riportato a una forma più essenziale, anonima, pulita.

Con questa modella, poi, il contrasto è ancora più interessante, perché gli altri set realizzati insieme sono andati in una direzione molto più diretta, fisica e audace. Questo invece è probabilmente il capitolo più artistico del nostro shooting: il più silenzioso, il più formale, quello in cui la sua presenza viene trasformata in qualcosa di meno riconoscibile e più universale.

Sono molto soddisfatto del risultato.

Good morning my dear FANATICs!

Today I return to THE BODY with the fourteenth body of the series, and I will say it straight away: for me, this is one of the most successful chapters so far.

The most complex part, this time, was the post-production. The model had very extensive tattoos, also in areas that were quite difficult to work on, and bringing the image back into the clean visual language that defines the project required a truly meticulous intervention. In the last chapters, I had worked much less on this aspect; here, instead, post-production became a fundamental component of the final result, not as a simple correction, but as part of the artistic transformation of the image.

The most interesting thing happened when I sent the model some of the first edits. She told me that seeing herself like that felt incredibly strange, but above all that she perceived the shape of her body as actually different. And this is something other heavily tattooed models have told me as well: the drawing on the skin really changes the way we read lines, volumes and proportions.

This is one of the aspects that makes THE BODY so particular for me. Every body enters the series with a different story, a different physicality and a different amount of work behind it, but in the end everything is brought back to a more essential, anonymous, clean form.

With this model, the contrast is even more interesting, because the other sets we created together went in a much more direct, physical and audacious direction. This, instead, is probably the most artistic chapter of our shooting: the quietest, the most formal, the one where her presence is transformed into something less recognizable and more universal.

I am very satisfied with the result.
