Pensavo che il controllo mi avrebbe aiutato.

Nerea, invece, mi ha riportato alla cosa più importante: la fiducia.

First Contact è il video di presentazione di una giovane modella esordiente, alla sua prima vera esperienza davanti alla macchina fotografica. Uno shooting delicato, inatteso, costruito mentre cercavo di modificare il mio flusso di lavoro e capivo, direttamente sul set, che non tutto si può risolvere con più tecnica.

In questo Cinematic Tuesday vi porto dentro quel momento preciso: il primo contatto con Nerea, il mio tentativo di controllare di più, le scelte fatte in tempo reale e il modo in cui un set cambia davvero quando davanti non hai una modella già formata, ma una persona che deve imparare a fidarsi passo dopo passo.

Non è solo backstage.

È il racconto di uno shooting che mi ha ricordato quanto, prima della luce, della posa e del risultato finale, venga sempre il rapporto umano.

I thought control would help me.

Nerea brought me back to something much more important: trust.

First Contact is the video introduction of a young debut model, during her first real experience in front of the camera. A delicate, unexpected shooting, created while I was trying to change my workflow and realizing, directly on set, that not everything can be solved with more technique.

In this Cinematic Tuesday, I take you inside that exact moment: the first contact with Nerea, my attempt to control more, the choices made in real time, and the way a set truly changes when you are not working with an already experienced model, but with someone who has to learn to trust step by step.

It is not just backstage.

It is the story of a shooting that reminded me how, before light, posing and the final image, the human connection always comes first.

Buongiorno miei carissimi FANATICs!

Oggi arriva il nuovo Cinematic Tuesday dedicato a Nerea: First Contact.

Questo video ha un taglio diverso dal solito. Non vi mostra soltanto cosa è successo sul set, ma anche perché è successo: il mio tentativo di cambiare flusso di lavoro, controllare di più la luce all’inizio, verificare meglio esposizione, ombre e fondale, e poi capire quanto tutto questo potesse davvero aiutarmi durante uno shooting reale.

Il risultato è stato interessante, ma non nel modo che mi aspettavo.

Con una modella esordiente, giovane, timida, alla prima esperienza davanti alla fotocamera, il controllo tecnico serve, ma non basta. Puoi preparare la luce, puoi impostare il set, puoi avere tutto pronto; poi però devi costruire fiducia, capire il ritmo della persona che hai davanti, sentire quando insistere e quando alleggerire.

Ed è lì che First Contact diventa importante.

Perché Nerea non arrivava con la sicurezza delle modelle che avete visto negli ultimi contenuti. Non era già dentro il set, non aveva già confidenza con l’obiettivo, non sapeva ancora come muoversi in uno shooting artistico. Eppure, passo dopo passo, si è lasciata guidare fino a entrare davvero nel lavoro, arrivando anche a partecipare a THE BODY.

Questa è la parte che mi interessa di più del video: non solo vedere il backstage, ma capire il rapporto fotografo-modella mentre nasce. Vedere come cambia il mio modo di dirigere quando davanti non ho una professionista già libera e sicura, ma una ragazza alla sua prima vera prova, che ha bisogno di tempo, ascolto e direzione.

Mi interessa molto sapere cosa ne pensate di questo taglio.

Vi piace quando il Cinematic Tuesday diventa anche racconto del processo, delle scelte tecniche, degli aggiustamenti e dei momenti in cui uno shooting cambia direzione davanti ai vostri occhi?

Per me First Contact è proprio questo: un video sul controllo, certo, ma soprattutto sulla fiducia necessaria per trasformare un primo incontro in immagini vere. 🎥

Good morning my dear FANATICs!

Today comes the new Cinematic Tuesday dedicated to Nerea: First Contact.

This video has a different cut from the usual ones. It does not only show what happened on set, but also why it happened: my attempt to change my workflow, control the light more at the beginning, check exposure, shadows and backdrop more carefully, and then understand how much all of this could really help me during an actual shooting.

The result was interesting, but not in the way I expected.

With a young, shy debut model, during her first experience in front of the camera, technical control helps, but it is not enough. You can prepare the light, set everything up, have the scene ready; then you still have to build trust, understand the rhythm of the person in front of you, feel when to insist and when to make things lighter.

And that is where First Contact becomes important.

Because Nerea did not arrive with the confidence of the models you have seen in the latest contents. She was not already inside the set, she did not already have confidence with the lens, she did not yet know how to move inside an artistic shooting. And yet, step by step, she allowed herself to be guided until she truly entered the work, even taking part in THE BODY.

This is what interests me the most about the video: not only watching the backstage, but understanding the photographer-model relationship as it begins. Seeing how my direction changes when I am not working with an experienced model who is already free and confident, but with someone at her first real test, who needs time, listening and direction.
