Le fotografie di Wild Grace avevano già incantato i FANATICs. Vedere Manuela muoversi dentro quelle stesse immagini, però, è tutta un’altra cosa.

Ho lasciato questo backstage il più possibile integrale proprio per questo: il tulle bianco che segue i suoi movimenti, la precisione quasi naturale delle pose, quella grazia che appartiene a chi danza e lavora davvero con il proprio corpo davanti a un pubblico.

All’inizio tutto procede lentamente, quasi come se stessimo costruendo una fotografia alla volta. Poi il set acquista una forza diversa e Manuela porta il movimento verso immagini sempre più intense, senza perdere mai quella qualità elegante che la rende così particolare davanti all’obiettivo.

Wild Grace – The Making of mostra esattamente perché questo set mi aveva colpito tanto già mentre lo stavo fotografando.

The photographs from Wild Grace had already captivated my FANATICs. But watching Manuela actually move through those same images is a completely different experience.

That’s exactly why I kept this backstage video as complete as possible: the white tulle following her movements, the effortless precision of her poses, and that unmistakable grace that comes from someone who has spent years dancing and performing on stage.

The session begins slowly, almost as if we were building one photograph at a time. Then the energy gradually shifts, and Manuela carries the movement into increasingly intense images without ever losing the elegance that makes her so fascinating in front of the camera.

Wild Grace – The Making of shows exactly why this set had already captivated me while I was photographing it.

Buongiorno miei carissimi FANATICs!

Oggi arriva Wild Grace – The Making of, e questa volta ho cercato di intervenire sul montaggio il meno possibile.

Il motivo è semplice: guardare Manuela muoversi vale già il video.

La sua formazione da danzatrice e performer si vede continuamente, anche nei gesti più piccoli. Il tulle non resta mai semplicemente un accessorio: lo usa mentre si muove, lo raccoglie, lo apre, lo porta con sé e intanto costruisce pose che spesso sembrano già finite prima ancora che io prema il pulsante.

Ammetto che durante questo set sono rimasto parecchio incantato anch’io. A volte continuavo a fotografarla semplicemente perché ogni variazione del movimento suggeriva subito un’altra immagine, e avrei potuto andare avanti davvero a lungo.

La cosa bella è che Manuela era coinvolta quanto me. Ogni tanto guardavamo insieme le anteprime sulla fotocamera e la vedevo reagire alle immagini, capire cosa stava funzionando e rientrare nel set con ancora più convinzione.

Verso il finale cambia anche il modo in cui Manuela si muove. La grazia rimane, ma viene fuori una parte molto più fisica e sensuale, e gli ultimi minuti mostrano proprio la realizzazione delle fotografie più audaci di Wild Grace.

Forse è questa la cosa che trovo più affascinante di Manuela: può essere elegantissima e teatrale, e pochi minuti dopo usare la stessa precisione del gesto per creare immagini completamente diverse.

Good morning my dear FANATICs!

Today it’s time for Wild Grace – The Making of, and this time I deliberately kept the editing as light as possible.

The reason is simple: watching Manuela move is already worth the video.

Her background as a dancer and stage performer comes through constantly, even in the smallest gestures. The tulle never feels like just a prop. She gathers it, opens it, lets it follow her movements, and somehow keeps creating poses that already look like finished photographs before I even press the shutter.

I have to admit that I was pretty captivated while shooting this set too. Sometimes I simply kept photographing her because every small change in her movement immediately suggested another image, and I honestly could have carried on for hours.

What I especially loved was seeing how involved Manuela was in the process. Every now and then we would look at the previews on the camera together, and I could see her reacting to the photographs, understanding what was working and going back into the set with even more confidence.

Toward the end, the way Manuela moves begins to change. The grace is still there, but a much more physical and sensual side starts to emerge, and the final minutes show us creating some of the boldest photographs from Wild Grace.

That is probably what fascinates me most about Manuela: she can be incredibly elegant and theatrical, and just a few minutes later use that very same precision of movement to create something completely different.
