Luke hear me out, u fr over pronounce the “a” in Naruto and sasuke and sakura and kakashi’s names. You pronounce all of them as if ur gonna say the word “acne” when Naruto’s name should sound like u finna say “narc-ruto” but without the “c”. Sasukes name should sound like ur saying “sauce-kay” not “sas-kay” Sakura should be pronounced “sock-kura” not “sack-kura” Kakashi name should be pronounced “kuh-kashi” with the second part of his name sounding almost like ur telling someone to open their mouth for the dentist like “ahhh” not “cashy” U don’t be pronouncing tanjiros name from demon slayer like “tan-jiro” instead u pronounce it properly like “ton-jiro”. It’s almost as if u do it on purpose like nobody has ever said their names the way u do n I been watching this show for over 20 years

Luke i think you’re forgetting that when this show first aired they were only releasing like one new episode per week and that’s why there are so many flashbacks you gotta give it some grace my guy

Rewatching Naruto and One Piece reminds why I hate shows trying to keep up with manga, they should just take a year brake or more and just animate 12 episodes. There are so many shots that linger way too long, there are minutes long recaps, and flashbacks not in the manga are constantly inserted like when Luke said it treats us like we’re stupid, it’s not trying to, they just need to fill the time. In these 5 episodes there are like 2-2.5 episodes worth of content.

Something to keep in mind when it feels like the show is treating you like you are stupid/have the memory of a goldfish: besides the fact it was a long-running weekly show (so those moments may have happened a LOT farther away from the current moment in the original run), it was ALSO much more difficult to go back and watch an episode (or moment) you'd missed when it was airing live. So a lot of those flashbacks are to make sure the current episode makes sense to people who might have *missed* key moments. And yeah, also padding run time. But there were differences in how shows were watched 15 years ago that also made those sorts of things a lot more useful than they are now in the age of streaming.

That's part of it, but its also a feature of TV shows from the era before streaming. It used to be much more difficult to go back and watch an episode/moment that you missed when it was airing live. Flashbacks helped showrunners make sure that the whole audience could fully enjoy the episode even if they had missed something prior.

I am pretty sure that's called anime canon and not filler. The only "filler filler" that is worth watchin is Guy+Lee fighting naruto. That one episode that had INSANE good animation sequence for no real reason.

watch black clover, that show has least amount of fillers, mostly canon. And this is why is shorter than bleach/naruto (Same for hunter x hunter). Also black clover sucks first 20-30 eps due to main voice actor screaming but then he stops and anime gets good. Animation gets super nice later in the show and when black clover ended, those animators went to wano arc and this is why One piece last 100+ episodes look crisp AF, they trained on black clover.

Yes Luke, assining no missions to Naruto and only easy ones will not make Naruto act up on his own, absolutely not, it much better to have Naruto sneak away on his own rather than making him feel useful, Yeah, Tsunade is entirely wrong to keep him busy.

unfortunately it is a Filler, only 28th episode of Shippuden counts as anime canon (Team Guy Clone fights), however Chikara arc (Power arc) that you mentioned is the best filler arc or one of the best arcs in Naruto.

I hate the whole argument between Tsunade and the elders, cuz it’s like, they get mad that she can’t guarantee he’ll be safe out on the move with a squad to protect him, but can they guarantee that he’ll be safe while protected in the village, when that clearly worked out so well for Gaara? Obviously not! It’ll definitely be interesting to see what Luke thinks of Sai and Yamato as time goes on, and this whole plot, since this idea of rival factions within the Leaf is new. The political world building in Naruto is really interesting, even though most times it’s in the background. Also, that look Sakura was giving when Tsunade talked about her keeping Naruto under control was very much a “but who’s gonna stop ME from punching him?” XD

Tsunade is a horrible leader. She isn't making choices that are best for the village, she's making choices that are best for Naruto's growth into becoming a Hokage one day. She's so caught up in having him fulfill the dream her brother failed, and that her lover failed, that she isn't thinking logically. Like even her argument that keeping Naruto out and about on missions so that Akatsuki can't find him is flawed... because the missions she's sending him on are missions that directly interact with the people she's supposed to be keeping Naruto away from. As an anime it makes sense to have Naruto get involved in these fights, but realistically it'd make way more sense to train Naruto to get stronger in other ways, and to let him get experience through missions that aren't against the super strong people that want to capture him. Tsunade could be a really cool character, but for the sake of plot they've made her really dumb so far.

You cage them up for good reasons, to protect them from the Akatsuki, fine. But also most of the Elders in these villages really just want to keep the Jinkuriki caged up because they only view them as tools to be used as weapons of war. Not only that, Tsunade's worry about keeping Naruto inside the village that will attract the attention of the Akatsuki is valid. Look, Gaara was inside his village when he was taken, and it almost cost the lives of the citizens of the Sand. Tsunade doesn't want that to happen to the Leaf village. At least if you keep Naruto out on missions, he's harder to track and pinpoint by the Akatsuki, but also it doesn't endanger the Leaf village.

ngl, it's wild to me to see the replies you got for this while I'm listening to characters say the names "Sakura" and "Naruto" and "Sasuke" /in the show/ exactly like how you've written them here and nothing at all like Luke pronounces them. I don't know how they're hearing it differently to how I do, but they clearly are. Very interesting!
