Finally! The Jojo of Jojos! Many call him the main Jojo and you’ll see why

MoodyBlue

Raaaah, I've been waiting for this! SO EXCITED

Hiruman

The poster boy is here!

Zer0

Someone is breaking into your car Luke.

Desolane

Part 3 is by FAR the most famous and popular JJBA part in Japan. I know some modern fans are divided by it, but there's just so many iconic moments here, almost every single episode has at least one line of dialogue that has become a meme in Japan.

iKiriOka

finally, yare yare daze

Sai

Hello, JoJo! 20 bucks for everyone, baby! How did you forget SPEEDWAGON?? I am so tilted! "Jonathan breathed and Dio took it personally" If it makes you feel better, just think... Every time Dio masturbates, he is just giving Jonathan a handjob.

Light Light

Please do a reaction to either all Gintama endings or all Tales of openings

AchmodinIVSWE

Erina got picked up by the costal guard (I think it was costal guard) and they left the coffin in the ocean. They never took it with them to the main land

Ben

Not sure if Luke is using a different source for the subs for this part, but mods pls the censorship is terrible on sources like crunchyroll

Raydough

BEST JOJO LETSGO!

Ben

Its just a casket Luke not a sarcophagus lmao

Skyhark

HYYYYYYPEEEEEEEEEEEEE!

Jorge Briones

if you don't know Jotaro is in fact Erwin smith.

Jacowab

Oh he's back and he's hotter than ever.

AchmodinIVSWE

Does that exist outside of pirating site? And he would need to get the Blu-ray for uncensored.

AchmodinIVSWE

You should react to Jojo’s Condensed Adventure: Phantom Blood/Battle Tendency By Faxjam (they are two videos, 3 minutes and 6 minutes long)

Ben

Not sure tbh may need to purchase it to get it legitimately, but even without the name changes, the black bar censorship is horrible and covers so much of the screen at times

Roli D. Great

The narrator said that the sarcophagus (coffin) had 2 compartments.

LireKlein

Yes Joseph's stand sucks, but the dude defeated 3 gods without any stand so they had to nerf him somehow.

Amberyootoob

The opening for part 3 evolves as it goes along.

Stefan Jipa

Jonathan breathes and Dio took the personally 🤣 Jotaro Yakamashi is here! Avdol cleared so easy the job… Stardust Crusaders is peak Jojo! Regarding villains, don’t you like Naruto?🤣

Magic Fibre

To me, part 3 is a major step down from part 2 - main character, music, enemies, pacing and story are all worse than in part 2, but it gets pretty good towards the end. Part 4 is where JJBA goes from great to a masterpiece

TheKnightwatchOfficial

Yay! The Stands have appeared! I have to admit, the only JoJo's I've seen before now was Part 5(?), which I loved, so getting to see the backstory of the Stands now is awesome!

Rugo

10:38 "there's like a big ol blue dude STANDing behind him" ???

MK Gamer

stands are not part of hamon, they are a total new power system

Sejad Lulic

welcome to my favourite part of Jojos. Also yes, Dio is back and better than ever! :D

RayquazaKingdom

Some notes: Part 3 is gonna drag on for a while. The stands are going to be the main power system from now on, replacing hamon. Stands are considered a power system on par with Hunter x Hunter's nen, and they'll only get crazier (better?) as Jojo goes on. Overall, I prefer part 3 to part 2, but anyone who likes 2 more than 3 isn't wrong. I've seen someone mention part 4 is where jojo becomes a masterpiece, and that sounds right to me.

KUR0KIJI

I think the censorship is not as bad on Netflix

Recall

A Voice acting coincidence i love from part 3 is that dio is voiced by zeke in aot and jotaro is voiced by erwin

Bryan Ross

Somehow, Dio returned

Rem is best waifu

Joseph Joestar is still great in this part, just more hilarious. I like Jotaro but he is a big Tsundere imo.

Kyle Garrett

Part 3's start is solid! I'm watching this series for the first time with you, but after decades on the internet two things I knew about Jojo's going in were Stands and that Dio was still alive. So while I'm not surprised Dio showed up again, I am a bit surprised how long it took Stands to appear, since the clips I always saw of Jojo's never seemed to include Hamon but always had Stands. The one thing I'm curious about is Dio. The mask that made Dio was just a rejected Pillarman mask and just makes Vampires, which are way weaker than a Pillar Man. Jonathan beat Dio and Joseph was way stronger than Jonathan. So for Dio to be a threat, he has to have gained some power beyond the Pillarmen while locked away in that box? They said Joestars are getting Stands because of Dio, but since Dio is weaker than a Pillar Man, surely that'd make a power originating from Dio be weaker than them too? So there has to be a deeper origin story to Stands than just 'Dio came back and his return gave people psychic powers' right?

Nate Ming

After Luke went on and on about how much he hated Dio in Part 1, I WAS WAITING FOR THIS EPISODE Dio is the worst... which also kinda makes him the best

Kyle Garrett

Also I'm pretty sure that red gem on Joseph's shirt is the Red Stone of Aja? I wonder if that'll have a role in this part as well, or if we're just moving on from Hamon entirely now.

Antony

You are kinda right in your theory but there is a really deep story behind stands in general. Lets just say without spoiling anything: Avdol said that he got stand since birth and there are people in the world who had Stands for a long time, and are considered Psychics of some sort. That implies that stands are a little separate from Hamon in general, and maybe there are different ways in which you can acquire a stand

Vinnick

Was loving your reactions to the introduction of Jotaro's Stand. Jotaro himself takes some getting used to, but he'll definitely grow on you. The coffin... is a plothole. Just accept that and move on, you'll be a lot happier for it.

Moshi

Erina was rescued by a ship while still in high sea, the coffin didn't make it to land.

Moshi

Hamon? What is that? Never heard of it.

Roli D. Great

ORA ORA ORA ORA!!! MUTA! MUTA MUTA MUTA!!!

Kingwolf Lotts1

I thought you would disliking Jotaro. Cause of the title. I know one of Reaction CC not liking Jotaro that much in first couple episodes. I understand if they're not liking Jotaro compare to the other but the thing with Jojo the author Araki want to make different personalities for every generation of JoJo's. That's why eventho if i don't like some main JoJo (Fortunately there is non of them i dislike) i can still appreciate what the author doing. Anyway enjoy this part. Indeed the way the first minutes of the eps it feels like a movie. My theory was it is referencing to the old anime adaptation of Jojo that came out in Movie format with the same sources. Yes there is Jojo anime adaptation before and it's quite old, and also is not well receive since it's way more realistic, horror direction than Anime Shounen in general (which is the way you watch now is Jojo in a Shounen way.)

Sai

Let him figure it out. It is fun watching him get confused over it.

Nicholas Grisanzio

It’s never really clarified up but as said the coffin had two compartments and it’s pretty safe to infer that Erina was rescued by a boat and they didn’t bother taking the coffin and let it sink to the bottom of the ocean.

Joseline

The coffin on the ship had two compartments, after Erina jumped in the main compartment, Dio entered the other compartment before the ship exploded. People say its a plot hole but its actually just really contrived.

FetaccineAlfredo

Guess who's back... Back again... Dio's back, Dio's back, Dio's back... Yeah, so, uh... Regarding a previous comment like 15 episodes ago, about a, quote "retroactive bloodline continuity"... Yeah... That wasn't in the Manga. The anime retconned that birthmark onto Joseph's body on the To Be Continued screen in S1 ep 13 (part 2 ep3) All because of Part 3 which was obviously written after the chapter and before the anime, making a beautiful tie-in to Part 3 Just a little tidbit that you've unlocked. Things gonna get a little spicer coming part 5, when we get to see what else I've been keeping a tight lip over ;)

Karma

not really a plot hole

Kyle Garrett

Got it. So Stands are like Hamon. Everyone has different levels of affinity with Stands, not everyone can access Stands, and even if you have good affinity for Stands, you need training to use it. That's why Jotaro has a solid dude (strong affinity) while Joseph gets a few tiny vines (weak affinity). When they said they got the power from their connection to Dio they didn't mean Dio created Stands, but that Dio obviously has done something to power up, and him powering up led to their Stands also awakening as a result of their connection to him. That honestly makes a lot more sense.

Mirvi

The coffin is *SO* badly explained in the anime, but in short, it has 2 compartments, or more specifically, the inner part of it is a separate piece and Dio was vibin' underneath it. Then the longer explanation... This can be seen seen at 3:08 in Lukes reaction to this episode. The "second compartment" is beneath the main part of the coffin. Just like in the episode was said, "...two compartments, as if designed to shelter something." The idea is that if Dio would use a normal coffin, what would protect him from somebody just opening the coffin in broad daylight? He would burn into a crisp, nothing to be done about that. Ultimate evil dead with one lootbox opening (morbid thought lol.) Therefore in Dio's coffin, if people would try to break it open (because it can be locked from the inside), they would only find it empty and leave it alone, because he could move into the second compartment (by my own assumption, the inner part is small enough to manouver around inside the larger coffin shell, or there's a "false wall" at the bottom of it that lets you move between the two sections, but I'm just speculating this specific point. The method doesn't matter, but the action still applies.) So when Irina hopped into the coffin to escape the ship, at that point Dio had already taken over Jonathan's body and moved to the second compartment. So for the time Irina waited for rescue at the sea, she was standing on top of an evil incarnate and her dead husband's body, like a *bizarre* bunk bed or a double-decker bus. Whenever Irina got rescued the assumption is that they just left the coffin (because why the hell would they bring it with them?), and afterwards Dio could've just waited for night time, moved from the second compartment and closed the coffin from the inside. Most of this is from a memory, so there could be some mistakes on the way, but I'm too lazy to double check. I have time to write a 5-minute essay but not too much time to go look back how it was originally explained. Anyways hopefully this helped! Or if it didn't, meh who cares, it's a *bizarre* show anyway.

Pyntuma

lmao "generational hater" is so real of you to say

ArtKi

17:55 "What are these things?" They TOLD you what they were at the start (after the titles) and you said "what is that" and blew it off without rewinding and reading it. The show plays fair but only if you work with it. "It's just a blank picture." The Kids These Days. It's a polaroid. SX70 film It develops by itself over a period of a minutes. "Hey Ya" by the outcasts. "Shake it like a polaroid picture!" (although shaking doesn't actually do anything. People thought it did)

Sakomi Arorim

Not sure what you mean with "Jojo in a Shounen way" As Jojo part 1 ~ 6 are all Shounen released in the Shounen manga magazine "weekly Shounen Jump" and anime tend to just copy the same target demographic as the manga has Though those parts are basically created 40 years to 20 years ago and what was allowed then for the Shounen demographic would most likely not be allowed for the current day Shounen demographic :P (which might be why part 6 was a web anime/ONA instead of a tv anime) Only starting from JoJo part 7 did it switch the target demographic to Seinen and switched to the manga magazine "Ultra Jump" with if I remember correctly a monthly release schedule instead of weekly (probably to ease the burdens of creating manga on a weekly pace from Hirohiko Araki)

Sakomi Arorim

Hamon and Stands are not the same to explain it poorly using Naruto for a bit Hamon is kinda like using taijutsu which just costs Stamina (and breathing in a certain way) While Stands is like using ninjutsu but instead of costing Chakra it is that persons life energy manifested

Joan Poh

they nerferd by boi joseph

veeti väisänen

If you really love good music check all sds osts and sountracks

StrykerEvol

Maybe you have missed it Luke. They said that the coffin had 2 compartments. So Erina was in one, while Dio was in the other. That's why Erina didn't know about Dio surviving as well.

StrykerEvol

In short. Luke loves DIo, because he can hate him with all of his heart. Understandable. Have a nice day, Sir.

Vinnick

Thanks for the further explanation. I'd still say though that it's a weak excuse by the author, because given the relative locations of everyone when the explosion happened (at least as it was presented in the anime), the idea of Dio getting control of Jonathan's body, getting into the coffin compartment and doing so before Irina got within eyesight of the coffin, and was able to get in herself, seems pretty unbelievable. But hey, at the end of the day, it gives us Dio back for this arc, so the ends certainly justify the means storytelling wise!

IntoVoid

The german dub of this is even better...

yorozuyapetel

It is often said that: “dio is the true protagonist of jojo’s”

Paul Vizcarra

I always thought I hated this part but no a main character has a big influence for me and Jotaro is my least favorite Joestar but after rewatching this there's a lot I like about the part.
