I always advise reaction channels to just skip this episode. It's just gross for no reason. And for some reason it's not the only episode to have many shots with child butts.

It's definitely not the type of episode some will be able to sit through. However, I think the material 'i is fine in the way it's handled. Strength is portrayed and framed as a despicable, irredeemable horror movie villain. With Strength, we get further reinforcement of how utterly evil and unforgivable Dio' henchmen area. The creepy scenes are framed and shot like an old school horror movie, and it's never at any point presented in a way where we're supposed to find the content 'hot' or whatever. Obviously, you can argue that there are other ways to show how awful Dio's henchmen are, and I completely agree that the content can be a hard pass for people regardless of framing. I just think that the intention and framing matter a lot, and Araki wasn't being an 'icky' person in his portrayal of Strength. Monke himself is quite disgusting, but that's the point. Re child butts -- definitely could have gone with some censorship for the times, agreed. However, it's definitely not framed in a creepy way. This was the 80s where more casual nudity like this was commonplace in a non-sexual way. This was the same time period when we'd see child Goku's junk regularly on screen

Don't know why I didn't think of it before, but I just checked amazon prime and it does appear that they do have the uncensored version to stream, here in the US at least.

I would like to remind you that the reason they censor Jotaro smoking, but not anyone else, is because he is 17. Again, Jotaro, this 6'5" nearly 2 meters tall BEEFCAKE OF A MAN, is only 17 years old xD Also to clarify a bit of what Polnareff said at the end with the gum. The word he was using was "kamu", which would mean like "chewing" or "chew" or the like. So another fairly accurate translation I believe would be "Want some chewing gum?" or "Wanna chew some gum?" since I could hear him use the word "kamu" Also side note but looking forward to the rest of your reactions to Bricky's Warhammer stuff! ^.^

Edit: Amazon prime has uncensored version it seems. Luke, 9anime is a website that has the uncensored version. When you search Jojo, they will have a separate playlist for the censored and uncensored versions of each season. Uncensored will be marked as uncensored. I will continue to share because you keep missing and people are not telling you in their initial comments. Upvote guys!

Not to mention that culturally Japan is just far more comfortable with nudity in general than western society. Most prominent examples being the fact they have public bath houses and in onsen/hot springs you have to go in naked, no swimsuits. So I'm sure no one who drew/animated those shots in this episode had any ill intent. None of it bothered me since it's just a fictional character voiced by an adult, but I don't blame people for having various levels of discomfort towards it. The only reason I was uncomfortable with it this time is cuz I saw how uncomfortable Luke was about it xD

oh yeah the reason jotaro's smoking is censored but Forever(the orangutan)s smoking is alright to see is because seeing bad guys smoke makes it less likely that kids see smoking as a cool behavior good guys do or something along those lines

I think the problem is Luke won't use any non-legal sites unless there is no other way to watches the show. He would rather watch the censored version legally than uncensored somewhere else. That being said amazon prime has the uncensored version to stream, at least here in the US.

Jotaro's character is inspired by Sergio Leone's italo westerns protagonist ''the man with no name'' or ''Blondie'' (in The Good The Bad And The Ugly), played by Clint Eastwood. Araki took Clint Eastwood's characters mannerism and made him similar type of antihero who doesn't seem heroic but still ends up doing the right thing.

It seems Amazon Prime has the uncensored version legally. If you are able to and are cool with streaming that version from prime, then that would very much be appreciated. Since it's been a long time since I last watched Jojo, and because I watched uncensored, I'm not sure if this will be as big of a problem in future parts. I think it is just part 3 for some reason that has this. Correct me if I'm wrong tho!

I understand if people find this episode disturbing, and that's completely fine, as it does touch on quite messed up subjects, but that shouldn't mean we just skip the episode. Skipping canon material due to personal feelings is the exact same argument part skippers use, and every jojo fan I know completely disagrees with that mentality.

Actually, Amazon Prime seems to have JoJo's Bizarre Adventure, Japanese with English Subtitles, for free. Only Seasons 1, 2, 301, 302, 401, and 402. (which I assume means Season 3 Part 1 and Season 3 Part 2 and Season 4 Part 1 and Season 4 Part 2). And the seasons are like $40 a piece if you want to buy them. Just FYI.

It seems you forget. he actually complained A LOT about No game no life. It's not drama queen, at which point you gonna complain if the show is half boobs. do you complain half the show? yes that's what he did. In fact he kept repeating: you guys are weird and people would say: "it's relevant for the plot". I'd say it was the same level of hard for him to watch this episode as ngnl, but I believe he is just mad he has to censure a lot for youtube. The other argument of yours about users caring seeing the uncensored version that one I agree.

This show always added: "ominous music" for villains. 100% of the time. luke seems to be like a 5% on the autism spectrum because he has the super ability to not be able to blend scenes (music+visuals). He always even on the most EPIC emotional scenes, he somehow can both see and both hear the song at the same time. I was surprised he found the monkey as SUS and villain but music gave it away instantly.

It would've been so easy to change the scene from a shower to a bed. That way you still have the creepiness of the orangutan finding the girl when she's vulnerable but it's cause she's taking a nap after the craziness of the entire day.

Hey Luke, i also recommend you start watching the Openings from part 3, or at least have someone tell you what episodes to watch the opening on (just mention it in you next video, someone will surely tell you). I know you normally don't, but part 3 onwards has several openings that change slightly when the story progresses, and its a great experience to watch it when it happens, rather than several months after you finish. HEAVILY RECOMMEND IT, and it won't take away from the experience when you revisit it after finishing, trust me

With all due respect, I think you're the one that's being overdramatic. I just pointed out broadly that skipping mentality shouldn't even be suggested in any canon material, not just Jojo. With fillers I at least understand, since it's just fluff and has nothing to do with the source material. (although I think certain fillers are quite nice ofc)

I mean why not both.....though seeing the same opening 3 times back to back isn't really fun to watch, dont know about you. I think its more fun watching it while you are experiencing the series and while the story is current. He will revisit it like 6 months down the road, doubt he will remember everything at that point.

Someone with such lack or realization makes me discount any advise offered. Your level of awareness of the source material is sorely lacking. To accept anything less then uncensored would be uncultured. The path of least resistance often leads downward. Therefore Men of Culture will always watch uncensored. We will always seek to watch the anime the way the the anime studio's meant us to see it. Not the way some streaming services thinks we should.

Fair enough, though I think that's largely subjective. It might be less appropriate for reaction channels, but in general it's perfectly fine to recommend people to skip canon stuff that's bad quality and doesn't push the story forward in any way

NGNL is, by far, a much more fanservice show than JoJo. You don't have to like the fanservice. That's perfectly reasonable and understandable. I'm not advocating for it either. But I though Luke was being a bit melodramatic. It was a butt. We all have one. I'm not immature. So I am able to understand that the scene is using elements from the classic Alfred Hitchcock movie, Psycho. Why did the author choose this plot vehicle? Who really knows for sure. But it should be okay to watch this and not feel uncomfortable or be judged as this aired on National Japanese Television. It met all legal requirements. Obviously the streaming services can't make you agree with the director's cinematic choices or of Japan's cultural practices. So we may not always like what we see. But we are visitors. We are outsiders looking in. So instead of making a big deal about a butt. It's probably better to just ignore it and try to not let it ruin your watch. When Luke point's it out and make it a big deal, that just drags out the awkwardness. Reactions like the one Luke had should be reserved for the much more egregious levels of fanservice because this type of thing is not all that uncommon in anime.
