idk what the schedule is like currently but, you should take a look at To Be Hero X . You would definitely like it

AkariKageyuki

I would love to see a reaction to Wind Breakers its great :)

Tucker Lobner

MHA vigilantes is a prequel to the main show

crazizzle85

My hero vigilantes is a prequel spinoff that takes place 5 years before the series. You can watch the first season without spoilering the main show at all. It's based on "illegal" heroes who don't have a license to use their powers.

Jason fadfadf

As everyone has said already, you should definitely check out to be hero x. It is so unique and china is cooking heavy this season. Definitely a standout and the first episode was the highest rated episode for week 1 so far at a 9.3 on IMDB.

Hobiwater

Can you react to Beginning After The End opening by KINGSBLOOD? It's also a new opening

King Dooda

Please check out the opening for Kowloon Generic Romance. It has a unique older art style and cool song to go with it

Sora

If you liked the black butler op then you should definitely check out the ed! I personally love it more than the op! Also Yaiba was made by the mangaka behind Detective Conan. It’s a remake from the earlier 1993 version. So far it’s been good though one episode has been released. It definitely has dragon ball vibes with the manga releasing a few years after dragon ball (1985 and 1988 respectively).

Klarin Black

Black Butler is essentially The main character and his absurdly capable Butler(who's a demon, so no wonder) solving mysteries in Victorian england, the anime also has some fantasy elements, but I think that was obvious fromn the demon part. It's a really good show (If you skip the non canon season 2) and I would highly recommend it to you given how much you seemed to love the formula of apothecary diaries.

Hashiram

you will love to be hero x

Roxy’s Holy Relic

I really enjoyed episode 1 of Witch Watch, the opening is a banger for sure. Lazarus episode 1 was also very strong. I’d recommend checking out the OP for Kowloon Generic Romance, I really like the manga and am hyped it’s getting an anime adaption. If you’re ever considering bringing back the spicy anime OP reactions we are blessed to have 3 quality ecchi shows this season: Please Put Them on Takamine-san, Yandere Dark Elf, and Makima-san’s a Love Bot?! What a time to be alive

Marcio Neves

Given all shows are at most 2 episodes in, it is hard to make recommendations yert. But I would have three to consider: To Be Hero X, Witch Watch or From Old Country Bumpkin to Master Swordsman. Those three were PEAK to me, so far

Jacowab

I highly recommend checking out the concept trailer for To Be Hero X it's so good

Marcio Neves

Would that be that short with the dog and the duplicating guys, from two years ago? Because if so, that video is AMAZING!

Jacowab

Hell yeah it is

IClickedOnce

Wind breaker is pretty fucking awesome, but still feel like Fire Force and SLF should be first

Hiruman

That Yaiba opening... Yabai

Bagitarius

Please react to "Zetsuen no Tempest" both openings and "Legend of legendary heroes" both openings. Or Gintama endings that you didn't react.

IClickedOnce

Ah damn, you didnt check out the new Ado opening for Gegege No Kitaru

MafiaEngine

Please watch Lazarus! New MAPPA anime! John Wick style!

Joshua Lopez

Shoshimin is a hell of a series. It's a mystery series with a couple of main characters that are trying to be less precocious than they actually are. Mysteries range from "How did this hot cocoa get made" to kidnapping and arson. It's a slow build into some crazy twists and turns.

Rahxe

Wind Breaker is SO well animated, I enjoyed the first season, I'm looking forward to S2. Some of the best fighting scenes I've seen in anime. (And yes, you were thinking of Tokyo Revengers.) The mentioning of Mona the Vampire triggered the deepest part of my childhood memories. We are old indeed. LMAO! I've only watched the first episode of Witch Watch; so far I like it. It's quite funny and endearing. I'm pretty sure it's a RomCom, probably with an underlining dark twist??? Yes, Vigilantes is a spin off of the main My Hero series. I haven't read the manga but I'm assuming it takes place simultaneously. The To Be Hero opening was enough to convince me to check it out. That slapped. <3

Chris

Inertia and Asphyxia are my personal favorites from Cö shu Nie. Soo good!

Jc

Uma musume Cinderella Gray is all I need to say. Just check out the op. Show is fantastic.

Arc

you NEED to check out Co Shu Nie's songs she is an amazing singer!!

patros36

You should ABSOLUTELY listen to more Yorushika!

mjaomjao2

First episode of Lazarus was solid, probably worth watching imo.

Kobury

If you do a next batch of OP's check out Summer Pockets opening, it's from studio Key(Clannad, Angel Beats, etc). They actually finished the production of the whole anime like 2 months ago and dropped the opening on youtube.

Xaniss

MHA: Vigilantes is a prequel series by a different author. and Bones animate MHA, same studio that did FMAB lol

Marcio Neves

10:15 no, Luke, she is not naked, LOL! That's a full body suit, with some black parts, but the rest of the suit is WHITE and covers all of her boddy other than her hands and head 😁

Azrael

TOP 4 anime - To be hero X , KOWLOON GENERIC ROMANCE (Mystery), Yaiba, Lazarus - You need to react to all of this anime. This seasone has alot of good anime .

Marcio Neves

The Karl Urban show you tried to remember was called Almost Human. It was produced by Fox, I thought it to be very good, but Fox messed around with it, to the point of even airing episodes in the wrong order, confusing the viewers of what was going on 🤷🏽‍♂️

Azrael

already fixed

Sprucefer

To Be Hero X is probably the standout of the season so far to me going off the first episodes. Loved the 1st episode and it would be your first Chinese animation (has a Jappanese dub which is what most people are watching)

Kyle Garrett

The opening for Witch Watch was produced by Megumi Ishitani. You haven't watched One Piece, but every episode she's been director for has been god tier, the One Piece fan letter was directed by her, my favourite Ado mv she did for One Piece (Kazae no Yukue) was directed by her too. Anything she directs is visually amazing, so I'm not surprised Witch Watch has such a cool opening.

ZckFox

Luke: I don't like starting an anime and not finishing it" Me: Looks at list of seasonal shows he hasn't finished, including Spy x Family dropped partway in second half of season.

Kyle Garrett

For context on Vigilantes, the manga's actually existed for a long time as a spin off series. It's by a different author, and happens before the main series, so when it started we weren't really sure if it was canon or not, but then as it progressed we started getting new info about the older characters in MHA that are in both, and about their relationships, and it was really cool. Then MHA started to reference the things revealed in Vigilantes and that made it even cooler, since for those of us reading Vigilantes reveals had extra layers to them. It's both similar to MHA and at the same time very different, so i'm really curious to see how anime only's react to it, and how even manga readers that never read the source material react to it.

Kyle Garrett

Lazarus is actually from the creator of Cowboy Bebop and Samurai Champloo, so that's why the opening gives off that Cowboy Bebop vibe. Also fun fact, the action sequences for this series were managed by Chad Stahelski, the director for the John Wick series.

Frentzy

Wind breaker is disappointing as a more advanced anime fan. After you see a few hundreds anime you tend to "learn" to see all the "good lessons" anime provides such as: "Do not do things alone" , "Learn to listen to others", "express your emotions" ,etc ,etc. Wind breaker is just the "sum" of GOOD generic advice with a 8/10 plot and 9/10 animation. Saw entire S1 and I recommend it to anyone who watched less anime. I watched it for action but I can only recommend it to more new anime fans, I didn't recommend to any of my friends cuz I didn't see any new concepts in there.

Frentzy

So the disappointment came from the fact I expected something more novel, so yeah. Solid show, I should learn to have my expectations lower next time (this comment is same as luke when he keep slander anime he likes and he criticise them cuz he hopes for more but didn't get that more)

Savingstumps

Witch Watch is off the wall lol. Very fun and zany first episode.

Lu C

If you are still undecided if you will watch new anime this season why not to watch at least one of those that you want to catch up that already finished their last season: Konosuba (11 eps), Dr. Stone (12 eps + in summer it continues further), SpyxFamily (you are missing 8 from 12 eps), Eminence in the Shadows (12 eps). Apothecary diaries are still airing, but they already have 13 from 24 eps. Why to wait?

John Stevenson

Overall the spring 2025 season is pretty quiet for anime, apart from maybe 3 or 4 personally. Lazarus is one of the most anticipated but it is an anime original so it could fall off quickly who knows for now. However Summer 2025 is completely stacked with anime, so good luck keeping up with all of it. (Bunny girl senpai S2,dress up darling s2 and DanDaDan S2 just for an example of a couple of shows you have watched that coming in July)

thewizardninja

I'm pretty proud of myself for recognising it without having to look it up first, but the opening for Witch Watch is directed by Megumi Ishitani, one of the newer stars in animation currently writing her legend. She deserves to be a household name along with the likes of other greats like Yuasa, Imaishi and Watanabe.

steviemoe

Ahhh you missed the new zutomayo opening. Aharen San season 2

Shendri27

if you want to hear more of the group who made the my hero academia vigilante opening you should defintly listen to "Hai Yorokonde" it'a banger of a song :)

Frentzy

this season of 'anime' is a bit dry, no BIG anime. Just a few new releases that are "big" but Kaiju no 8 for example feels bigger than any "new" anime releases this season. You have to get used to the dry seasons, they happen and it's normal. This is why people watch on-going never ending series, to survive in these dry periods.

G30KK

Luke watch to be hero x please!

Andy Hinton

Studio Bones or Bones Films does My Hero Academia and Vigilantes. So same people behind FMA and Brotherhood, Eureka Seven, Bungo Stray Dogs, Mob Psycho among a lot of other anime. Bones has multiple different teams under them that each have their own style of making anime. I believe Vigilantes is done by the same team that did the main MHA series.

Jc

Def not a dry season lol

Saturndusk

Go back to the previous season and do a watch of Red Ranger in Another World 😬

Joshua Vaughn

New ADO song just dropped. Called Rockstar

ZckFox

"No big anime", aside from the continuation of Apothecary Diaries, the highly anticipated Lazarus series by the creator of Cowboy Bebop, and the equally highly anticipated new Gundam series directed by a guy that directed some of the Neon Genesis Evangelion movies. Not to mention from manga readers you got Witch Watch that placed second in the next manga awards in 2022, Uma Musume Cinderella Gray which placed second in the next manga awards in 2021, and Kowloon Generic Romance which placed 9th for the Manga Taisho awards in 2021; all being adapted, so no big deal for Spring I suppose.

DRACO

When will you react to the NEW Fire Force Ending?

dpolaristar

You reacted to the 2nd Shoushomin OP but skipped the first from Summer 2024. Go react to that and then the EDs.

del

Yaiba is gonna be an OPM s1 / JJK s2 sakugafest

BornOfOsiris

@ZckFox perfect response. This season is definitely not dry, multiple new shows have already captured my attention on the 1st episode. Plus there are returning anime like Fire Force. No one should say its dry until the season is half way over and there are barely any good shows that have aired

BornOfOsiris

So returning anime define a non dry season? Hot take. Lot of shows have had really good first episodes already, gotta expand your horizons man

BornOfOsiris

He has said he wants to do those on twitch since that's where he watched them originally. Has discussed possibly doing a slot to catch up on new seasons of shows he has watched on twitch

John Stevenson

If you actually read what I said I gave a few shows that are coming back for Luke in the summer that he was already invested in. But I do stand by what I said about the spring lineup being pretty tame. I am not the only one with this opinion. I don't need to watch the 20 fantasy shows with the same plot or the ecchi shows that have popped up this season I'm good

Lu C

That would be the best

Frentzy

Shows I will give it a watch: Fire force season 3 Lazarus Yandere dark elf Makina-san's a Love Bot?! Once Upon a Witch's Death (potential drop) My Hero Academia: Vigilantes Sword of the Demon Hunter: Kijin Gentosho (potential drop) The Unaware Atelier Meister From Old Country Bumpkin to Master Swordsman The Brilliant Healer's New Life in the Shadows Please Put Them On, Takamine-san The Beginning After the End I'm the Evil Lord of an Intergalactic Empire! I don't include apothecaries, it's from previous season. Is it "packed"? Fuck no. I'm the type of guy that watches on average 10+ anime. But I have seasons of anime where I watch 20+ shows. It also happens those seasons that I watch 20+ shows are the seasons where multiple shows end up in top100. Previous season we had at least 2 shows that did enter top100 (apothecary and solo leveling) Also I didn't drop any anime previous season while I usually do, and I expect I will drop anime this season. Hate me if you want, but by my standards this is just not good enough for me to not call it "dry". What's more funny is that I don't even need to use my own standards. If there is a good show with top100 potential community will force luke to watch it, since there has been none, this season is by default "dry" even by community standards since there is less demand. And when I say top100 I mean myanimelist because there is PLENTY OF TRASH that I will give 9/10 in that list I bet. Cuz I don't mix my taste and what I enjoy with objective stuff. Won't change my mind on my initial opinion about this season. It's objectively a weaker season imo.

reyel

day #983 of asking luke to react to the Devil May Cry anime (Im sick so I forgot to count)

Decayed Lulzul

I hope Yaiba finds its way onto Lukes watch list, its def the anime of the season

Azrael

it's piece of shit no one watch it

Jc

Again with the "Dry" it's simply not and like you said it's your opinion and it just so happens to be wrong

Bee a Dreamer

I'm usually just a silent viewer, but had to comment, To Be Hero X is amazing!! I hope you do watch it, i fell in love with it from the first ep! Hope you enjoy it, if you do decide to watch it!

Moshi

LILAS Ikuta, or Rira in Japanese. Not Ilyas

Maka

Wind Breaker is amazing! You have to watch it

Chase Steiner

Hi Luke! I think you’ll love To Be Hero X. The first episode was so amazing. On another note, a massively underrated opening imo from last season was “Enter” by L.E.I. from the anime I Left My A-Rank Party. I think you’d really enjoy a listen to it ☺️

Stefan Jipa

First opening is good! Gotta admit WitchWatch's visuals are insane, has the anime the same style? All are great, but Hiroyuki Sawano won (visuals great too)

Lady Lati

god i would sell my soul to see Luke watch Wind Breaker

Steven Li

Watch the MHA Vigilantes ending
