Nostalgia (and the past in general) is a very strong theme of Gintama and I've always said that, while the Openings tend to represent the chaotic Present of Gintama, the Endings are what represent that nostalgia. Even in the chaotic openings there's almost always a scene where someone thinks back on their past until they're brought back to the present and reminded that things are different now.

🐶 Gintama is a finished series, with 3 movies( the third movie is the finale to the series btw) and some specials. Really enjoyed revisiting gintama endings :) I hope when you get there, Luke, you'll enjoy Gintama like the rest of us has and if it becomes your favorite or at least top 5 anime, then that's good enough for me :)

very accurate insight at the end there, gintama is mostly comedy, but when it gets serious, it gets really serious. this mood switch is probably its strongest attribute. i dont think there's a series that does it better. i really hope you'll react to the final ending as well. you reacted to all the endings, but there's also an ending for the final movie. its a culmination of the series, called "wadachi" by spyair. honestly all spyair and does gintama songs deserve separate videos.

Gintama is my all time favorite Show. :) It got only enhanced because I watched so much before that I got all the references and jokes. Hearing you planning on watching it gives me joy and lets me look forward to it when the time comes. ^-^ I bet you will love it.

I think its time for us to watch Gintama y'all. Pleeeeease. Also Luke Gintama will be in your top 5 for sure. Such an amazing anime. One minute your laughing next minute your crying in the same episode. It's an anime that has so much heart and really fleshes out ALL the characters it brings into the show.

Personally Gintama is way better than both of those. One of my few 10/10s, it does the shounen tropes and styles the best, with added brilliant comedy on top. Just awesome and with a really good ending, which cant be said a lot.

Actually, theres a song called Wadachi by Spyair, that is the ending of "Gintama The Final" the last canon movie that closes the story, you should react to that song, its fucking amazing.

here's a few fact about gintama you might want to know first of all Sadaharu the big ass white animal is a dog second starting from the arc that is running with the three lights down king ed are mostly serious arc the all the usual comedy moments are still frequent but there's a lot more serious scene till the end and third the ed with everyone in wedding dress is a 12 episode filler arc before the final season though it calls the final season the real ed are in the last movie

I am ready for your Gintama journey if you are! Heads up, Gintma is not that popular in the west, the community has had a lot of reactors claiming they enjoy the show but quit without an explanation. I suspect the view count might have something to do with it. But we have a few solid reactors, and I would be overjoyed if you joined them :D
