They didn't tell Polnareff because Avdol was still technically recovering. When Avdol's stab wound stopped hurting him, that's when he was able to use his Stand at 100%, and that's probably when they would've told Polnareff had they not been in combat.

best thing is, this was actually kind of foreshadowed in the episode where they left India, when Polnareff blaimed himself for Avdol's death, and Joseph and Jotaro gave eachother a look to each other.

uh no? you are completely wrong most of them especially the close range one cannot see through their stands , literally the same part when Polnareff fight ebony devil he cannot see while restrainted under the bed , thats why he strike the mirror

Then give me a perfect reason why Polnareff needed to break the glass to see the puppet doll stand when he was stuck under the hotel bed way back? Cause, as far as I know, Polnareff stand was missing its attacks on the puppet stand until Polnareff started seeing the enemy stand through the broken glass mirror.
