I can’t believe this shows over next episode. Gonna be a while before I see an anime on here that will properly re-spark my interest and be a worthy replacement for monster

Orieng

What comes after Monster?

Morringhan

I'd love if the next show he reacted after Monster it was also an old school anime

0upcoil

This is my favorite episode of Monster the tension in this episode was insane

Orieng

I would love if he would catch up to shows with new seasons :)

Frentzy

I think was fire force? I remember he said that a specific series is coming but I kept forgetting. But he also made some polls on youtube usually with that "series" + another, so people don't moan in comments. Usually the obvious choice winning, but he had some surprises before.

Jorginho

this perfect story sadly comes to an end I wonder where does it rank in your anime tierlist

Orieng

Oh there is a poll right now on yt

TheKnightwatchOfficial

This has been an amazing journey. As someone who has never seen Monster, please don't screw up the ending!

I don't really comment on things often, but I highly recommend you watch a video essay on Monster. There are a few on YouTube. There is so much behind what was actually happening in the last 2 episodes and especially the series as a whole that we as viewers miss because of the philosophy Naoki Urasawa inserted all throughout it. In truth, this series itself is a essay on life vs nihilism. You could watch it so many times and still find something new that you didn't see the first time, but I highly recommend watching a video essay after you finish. It might surprise you as to what this series actually was.

Clannad, To Love Ru, or Plastic Memories should replace Monster.

Ghost in the Shell SAC would have been a great replacement

Mari

Omg he would LOVE this. Another absolute underrated classic. Unfortunely it will probably never win in a poll because the zoomers havent seen it.

Mari

The "cinematography" in this series is genius. Tenma at the end looks absolutely fucking miserable and it's framed like he's walking to his own execution. He doesn't need to say a word and you can still understand exactly how he's feeling Something you might not remember is that the very first scene in the very first episode was a quote from the Book of Revelations talking about the beast with 7 heads. Throughout the series there are several allusions to the anti-christ, which without diving too deep into it until you finish the last episode, is an interesting theme to consider. The series is very very layered, this is the third time I've watched it and I'm still noticing new things.

Mari

If we're doing recommendations to replace Monster, my votes are: Hyouka (high school mystery series, absolutely brilliant subtle character writing, amazing atmosphere, probably the most beautiful animation of all time) Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex (another underrated classic gem, really smart philosophical cyberpunk anime. You'd love it.) Sora no Woto/Sound of the Sky (short 12 episode but genius atmospheric series about a military trumpet player with a twist) Serial Experiments Lain (cult classic, surrealist cyberpunk philosophical anime with masterful atmosphere and mystery)

Orieng

Dont bother, the poll is already up
