I think that choosing DxD for Luke's first ecchi was genius. My guess is that the battle boobs are the winning ticket for Luke to enjoy ecchi. So keep that in mind for future recommendations. Think stuff like Strike The Blood, Absolute Duo, Freezing. The list is long. So many to choose from. We only need to ask for ecchi reactions. It's up to us to bring culture to Luke. I think battle boobs are the future of Patreon!

The important thing to know about that Rating Game is, despite how full of himself Riser (and Ravel) was over it, Demon society as a whole was not impressed whatsoever with how that game turned out - including Riser's own parents... and for them specifically it's not in the "you should have destroyed them harder and shown no mercy" type of disappointment - quite the opposite, actually. They were actually convinced that Riser won in a way that disgraced the Phenex name, to the point where their mother would foricbly pull Ravel out of Riser's familia as she didn't want her being influcenced by Riser's behavior any longer. For the rest of Demon society, it was about how Riser's familia, who fights professionally and is highly ranked at that, didn't put on nearly the domineering performance he was convinced over Rias and her familia, who were fighting their first rating game ever, and further they weren't impressed with the tactics Riser used to secure the victory, either (even if what he did was considered fair game). Meanwhile, they were extremely impressed with Rias and her familia, who were fighting in their first ever game, and thought they handled themselves well, despite the gigantic disadvantage they faced.

any time youve got the hero in super rescue mode you cant help but root for them. it doesnt matter how insane the story or setting is. if someone needs rescuing and there is a challenge the hero has to overcome you get drawn in to the story.

I agree season 2 is much better than season 1 but personally I found season 4 my favorite purely because it perfectly matches the source material story wise and detail wise compared to the other seasons where certain details were changed, rearranged, or cut out. I love the whole series ofc but thats just my take as a novel reader. Even the author himself switched animation studios because he didnt like how seasons 1-3 were handled (like how the second half of season 3 was filler and branched off from the novel and how they cut out an entire arc that happened in season 1 after this episode)

On the shut up thing: Any casual form of "urusai" , like "urusee" (what Issei said here) or "ussewa" (like that one Ado song), is absolutely considered super rude in Japan as well. But honestly, I've heard "shut the hell up" in SO many originally English live action things as well, I don't see the increased use in Anime that you do. Plus, I also have no problem actually telling people to shut up. Like, I've use the German equivalent of that quite a bit in my everyday life, especially back in school, and it's considered just as rude here.

9:20 yeah, the only two reasons she s opposed to marrying the phoenix, imho: she wants her freedom and she wants Issei. I really dont think the Phoenix isnt a bad guy, just a noble with a harem.

I was expecting all of S2 to be our boy training and powerful up, and S2 ending with him saving Rias and hopefully having dragon armor. I did not expect him to get that kind of armor, and then try to save her, in the very next episode! That's insane.
