They didnt beat him up because by the time they thought to, he already had a grip on jotaros arm and was threatening to break it off. He let go of jotaro once he got kakyoins soul. If he dies then kakyoin dies, the only way to get kakyoin back is to defeat him. Once they defeated him and got kakyoin back and there were no more consequences to beating him up they did

First of all, Jotaros arm was held hostage, that's why they played the game. And secondly, if he got "no" as an answer, the he would do the same thing as before Jotaro declared his throws: Asking questions until he gets a "yes" answer.

Iggy's talking is basically a "translation" of his barking, to us it sounds like he's talking, but for the people in universe it's just barking, and if i remember correctly, it was showcased when he was "talking" to that little boy, and when they showed it from the boy's pov, it was just barking

"these whole three episodes were pointless" come on luke, there's not paying attention and then there's this. FIRST of all they aren't gonna try to kill a stand user straight away as many times in the past that has backfired. SECONDLY his stand had a grip on jotaro's soul through his arm so killing him would have killed jotaro. THIRDLY he literally had kakyoin's soul so killing him would kill kakyoin. LASTLY why is it pointless to "dispose of him"? pretty sure leaving an enemy in perfect condition isn't a great idea when they could just attack you again or grab their souls again. They were lead into a trap and had to win in a game to all leave alive.

I love these reactions! I think it's funny how often Luke mentions how the gang doesn't kill, but they 100% do. They often don't go out of their way to kill an enemy for no reason, but there's not been a single occasion where they go out of their way to save an enemy unless it's entirely convenient for them. (Kakyoin and Polnareff excluded because they had flesh buds)

Since it seems you forgot, D'arby had a hold of Jotaro's arm at the start, so sure, they could have beaten him, but he would have lost his right arm in the process, so they choose to try and beat him in his game to avoid crippling Jotaro.

Darby put a thing on jotaros arm somehow and after he got kakyoins soul he made the thing on jotaros arm vanish. so yes, they couldve beaten him up earlier but jotaro would have lost his arm.

24:20 tbh that was probably an adaptation thing, david productions has such an accurate adaptation of the jojo's manga that it can sometimes be at the detriment of the anime with details like this, i can imagine the manga having iggy speak, and it translating weirdly to anime. that and, this is jojos, weird shit just happens
