I couldn’t ignore the fact that every time Takopi went back in time, he left Shizuka alone in that timeline, leading her to do something horrible again. Thinking about that made me feel bad whenever he went back.

timeline-wise, we don't actually know if the time travel is reviving Shizuka, or just going to another universe where it's 7 days in the past. The happy camera could actually be reversing time, and it seems more likely that that's the case

I really hope Luke continues with this, even if it is an extremely hard watch. People need to see stuff like this because it does happen. In an ideal world no one would have to see this, because stuff like this doesn't happen, but unfortunately we don't live in an ideal world. Please Luke at least watch episode 2.

Takopi (タコピー) is the same name for the disgusting plate that Soma (Food Wars) made? タコピーナッツ (Octopus with Peanuts butter) lol Well, I guess in this anime case it is the abbreviation for Tako (Octopus) + Happy Jokes aside... it's really heart breaking 😢 This is the situation when you have a depression, you're hurting and all you need is a little cuddle from someone. But people that are clueless see you just as a creep or someone to better not to get close to. Looking forward for your next reaction!

This is such a good anime and manga, however it's not something I recommend because of the sensitivity levels of people. Similar case with Good Night Punpun.

There will be always be bad stuff in this world. if you constantly overt your eyes from it. it won't go away. remember the feeling of your blood pumping something goes bed so when it comes down to it you can act before stuff gets even worse.

Hey Luke, regarding the OP, it has no spoilers as far as i know, im anime only but it looks completely unrelated to the actual series, you will see when you watch it. Its Ano so it is kind of a whiplash tonally. Also it is a horrible horrible theme, but the warning in the beginning says it is a bittersweet story so im hoping it has at least SOME kind of a good, meaningful ending. Thanks for watching.

when i was 6 years old i got bullied when i transferred in a new school, in a new city. i didn t do anything and you might think "boo hoo how serious can be a 6 year olds bullying case?" i ll just tell you how it ended. i was on the floor and getting beaten up by 4 other classmates. i got up and beat them up for the first time. i never wanted to hit someone until then. after that they left me alone. but two other people came. in the next few years i was the only one who tried to protect them. i didn t like them. they were stupid and annoying, but never did anything to deserve that treatment, like me. please, if you see this, be someone s hero. just let them know you accept them, try to tell a teacher or stand up for them. i couldn t do much, because no one took me seriously, but when i played with them, they smiled

As Luke says, it is a very important topic not often touched on by media because of how grim it is. Things like this happen. As a African-American that grew up in the south, things like this do happen and can scar people. Only parents can prevent their kids from going through something so dark, and it is better to know about this stuff than be introduced to it in a non-fiction setting.

I've had my arms wrapped around my head half way watching this. The animation team has wonderfully displayed how horrific this show is. I highly appreciate all anime that can bring out strong emotions out of me regardless of the theme and in this case, they nailed it hard, so props to the team. On the other hand, if you really find it very uncomfortable, you don't have to force yourself to keep watching it. I appreciate your reaction to this episode though since I have yet convinced my friends to watch this show as well.

I had no idea what this anime was about and got so many conflicted emotions while watching with you. I agree with all you said, it's really uncomfortable and beautifully horrible to watch, but it happens and it's real. I don't know if "looking forward" is the right term for it, but if you continue this series, I'll wait for your reactions to watch. Thank you for the reaction, Luke. I’m not as traumatized by this anime because I’ve read a lot of Japanese and Korean manga that involve bullying and similar stuff. But when you see how often it shows up in anime and manga, you realize the bullying issue is pretty serious in those places. 😟

"Show starts with Cicada noises" Oh no... I can tell where this is going within the first 1 second... Generally speaking, not many of the anime I watch are not depressing. But this is one of the 3 anime that made me pause over and over again. And I think the reason for this is partially that: I am most likely autistic. I was bullied in school, and not every day was the happiest day. One of my bullies was a lady whom I liked, who later used a friendship ribbon inappropriately. And my feelings concerning that were mixed.

I think your reaction was better than mine, I was so shocked by how fast the anime escalated that I started laughing when I saw Shizuka hanging and only after calming down I started tearing up

The things that happen in this anime are still things that happen irl, some kids do suffer like this irl, like I said it doesn’t matter what it is, it can be an anime, a movie, a show, a book, if you feel empathy and are attached to the characters it’s only normal to react like this, I’m sorry for you, if you never felt connected to a character like this
