I don't want to sound like a dick but isn't this animation just the default anime animation. It's no the best nor the worst just fine. Sure you can give it praise but I feel like I'm missing something with how much luke has been glazing it

By the way, when Cid was talking at the end of the episode, he was referring to Chunibyo (Middle 2 or Eighth-grader syndrome). When kids put an Eye patch and a bandage and say that it is to seal their hidden superpower. So, while Claire was serious about her situation, Cid thought that she is just going through that period in her life 😅

Aurora, the Witch of Calamity (aka Diabolos), was the best girl in the Sanctuary arc at the end of season one. At first, she disappeared/died...well, at least that version of her did (the real one’s still out there). But for whatever reason, the spirit/whatever she left behind in the Sanctuary ends up possessing Claire. When Aurora fully takes over Claire’s body, it actually transforms into Aurora’s original form. Plus, Aurora gets way more PLOT than Claire, you know.. actual character development. She even points out in the scene that Cid does the same thing when he becomes Shadow. It’s not just a hood, his height, hair, and a few other details change too. That’s basically the excuse for why nobody ever recognizes him.

Beta's cheerleading during the epic fight was adorable. Cid does seem to get along with the powerful types like Elizabeth and Aurora. We last saw Aurora (aka Violet aka the Witch of Calamity) during the sanctum laboratory scene, then she whispered something to Cid and faded away, after which Alpha revealed that Aurora, the Witch of Calamity, was the true name of the Demon Diabolos. This is the first time we've seen her since... As Cid and Aurora both said, vampirism is the same sort of curse as the possessed, so he used the same ability to cure the ghouls/vampires. And Aurora's "the original" implies that as Diabolos, her cells were the basis for the curse that afflicted the possessed, the ghouls, and the vampires...

I'd say he does know chuunibyou. Considering he watched Konosuba, Danmachi, and others i forgot, as well as Eminence in shadow had Chuuni characters.

depends how many anime you watched . I am at 700-800 range and Eminence in shadow is in my list of top100 in terms of animation. Not quite "S tier" . But it is A tier during the best moments and B tier during normal moments. The animation is about 0.5 levels below clevatess which is good. So far kaiju no 8 season 2 animation is "bad" and i'd argue the animation in s2 eminence is the "same" as kaiju no 8 s2 (which should be levels above yet isn't). The animation in this is better than dr stonez current airing season. The animation in eminence in shadow s2 should be top 20 animations for luke's list, so of course is "top tier" for him (make sense for him, and why you can't relate to luke). It isn't that wow, but is higher than just "fine" (at least for me). It has that 8/10 show animation. I'd argue it's very good for isekai genre which usually has low budget.

You should watch the KageJitsu! Season 2 shorts after each episode, its chibi afterepisode bits that are about 2 minutes long each episode. They are on the official KADOKAWAanime youtube channel, 【ちびキャラアニメ】かげじつ！2nd season is the playlist name, but should be on other streaming sites.

I think "Overpowered Protagonist" stories have an unfairly poor reputation, to be honest. They can definitely fall into some really corny and boring traps, but the really cool thing about them can be how they push the focus of an otherwise action-focused narrative onto everything EXCEPT for the tension in the "big" fights themselves, which is normally like, the cornerstone of those kinds of stories building an engaging plot. So when they do it WELL, it can lead to some really cool stories where they approach very action story cliche scenarios but with a totally different focus/vibe, making them feel fresh and fun all over again. All the ones that I can think of also tend to have *beautiful* animation, too, so you still get the top-tier fight spectacle, they just aren't central to building the story in the way they usually would be.
