Abacchio 'hated' Giorno cause the latter went and 'sacrificed' himself to help him just like Abacchio's policeman friend saved him by jumping onto him to protect him when he actually died for him.

The subs calling Abbacchio "passionate" are slightly off. The dude used the word 熱心, which can mean "passionate", but it's more like "zealous" or "dedicated", when talking about a profession. He basically said "you're good at your job" I heavily recommend switching to unofficial subs. They're much better AND they don't censor stand names. Calling Moody Blues "Moody Jazz" is not that bad, but calling Bucciarati's Sticky Fingers "Zipper Man" is just irksome

"What were the writers thinking when they wrote this season" is actually a really accurate question as the manga writer, Hirohiko Araki, was suffering from depression when he was writing this part, hence why it's the most bloody and messed up part and why certain character later on (no spoilers) gets a little...shelved since Araki actually couldn't bring himself to follow up on the sad progression that character was meant to take

Writers? You mean the mangaka Hirohiko Araki? Most if not all the anime you watch are from manga or lightnovels. Sure there's a writer's, VA, and directors to take the source material and adapt it to animation but the story itself was writen from another source.

I'm so glad you noticed finally that Part 5 is a very violent part. Which makes it honestly stand out so much and while it is my personal favorite season, it is for more to come later that I won't say for now, but yes, these are bold deaths. Araki-san has always introduced violent elements, but heroes usually kept their hands clean by destroying the inhuman, but some of the characters like this first guy who came up with a GENIUS plan the MOMENT he heard he could get his bag, are so human. He drives bad! He's a gang member too! Every Stand User gang member are all basically on equal footing morally and intellectually so far.

How zuchero's stand works: Soft machine stabs things. The stabbed thing then gets deflated like a baloon until they're really thin. Zuchero can stab himself aswell. But in that case, he still has control over his deflated/"2d" form. He can speak and move. His plan: He deflated boat 1 and put it over boat 2. Like those protective plastic layers around a brand new books magazines. Then he went hiding in that very small gap between the boats. In deflated form. Which is a OP plan. Since no one without deep information about how his stand works would ever be able to guess where he was hiding. How he got defeated: Bruno noticed that abacchio's blood disappeared intead of dripping down to the floor below. Which doesn't make any sense. So Bruno realized that, thinking rationally wouldn't solve the problem. His hiding spot was too good for them to find it out by thinking or looking. So he made a hole in the boat. Instead of having to find the enemy. The enemy would be forced to come out his hiding spot to avoid being drowned. Why didn't they do that from the start? Because, since they had no idea there was two boats. Sinking their boat would mean being stranded at sea without any means of transportation and his friends possibly getting drowned. But, since every member of his team was already defeated and in risk of getting killed anyway. It was worth the try. And Giorno realized that, since he was hiding so well. Zuchero's stand was probably weak in combat. Which was correct, it's slow and weak physically. And sticky fingers is crazy strong and fast. That's how it was able to punch it becore he could stab abbachio. Long ahh comment, i hope you read it otherwise that was like 10 minutes thrown in the trash bin 😭

From part 5 onward, some Stand abilities and rules are becoming more and more convulted. To the point the viewer unable to guess how those abilities works before the show explained it for you.

Ok TY. But how did one boat got a hole in it and sank while the other one stayed unharmed and still floating? Shouldnt both sink? I mean as I understand both the 2d-layer as well as the 3d-object would be sinking at the same time. Also where did the defeated characters were hanging out when affected by zuccheros stand? Were they also stuck behind the 2d-layer and the 3d-object like zucchero was? And how would he get the information from them when we think they are paralyzed as 2d people with zucchero being the only one that could still do shit.

Not sure, but I assumed it was because reinflating something seems to heal it, or bring it back to its original state. Like how Abbacchio isnt bloody once hes reinflated, hes back to normal. Presumably the boat would do the same thing, and once he inflated Boat 1 to escape, it returned back to its original untouched state.
