Technically Itachi gave his life to protect Sasuke not the village, Itachi cared more about Sasuke then he did the village, that's why he bargained with Danzo to keep Sasuke alive. Itachi will care more about Sasuke's destruction over the village. Also Sasuke was never meant to know the truth, that's why Itachi lied to him his whole life, because Itachi knew that if Sasuke knew the truth, Sasuke will try to get revenge on the village.

Ngl Luke u stay looking at sasukes choice to destroy the leaf on a surface level. You have to remember that he hated itachi for so long and watched his clan die literally on repeat then finds out he directed all that hate at someone that just wanted to protect him. Obviously his anger would be directed at the ones that left him lonely. U stay looking at the fact that sasuke chooses to dishonor itachi’s wishes without considering the fact that the leaf played a hand in leaving sasuke with all the trauma and false goal he lived his entire life behind and his whole paradigm shattered after that when he learned the truth. If I was sasuke I’m takin somebody out fosho. He’s absolutely right when he said everyone is laughing together completely ignorant of everything. Ur one of them

Strength is hard to quantify in Naruto when we have to consider ability. With Pain, at least Naruto had some intel on how to beat SOME of his bodies, but Naruto alone simply did not beat him, he was caught by Tendo Pain. Him going crazy nine-tails mode really saved his ass, and probably did significant damage to Tendo, enough to give a strait-thinking Naruto a chance to give him one final blow. But up against a full powered Pain, in one body with all his abilities there? Naruto has no chance at this point in the story, Pain is just that broken.

Naw, its not that. I think Luke though thinks of Naruto's strength as some sort of power level, that because he "won" against Pain, that he is stronger than all of Pain. Naruto had an advantage of some intel against some of Pain's bodies, so taking some of them down right away helped a lot. but he was still about to lose if he didn't go into crazy nine-tails mode. See a lot of fights in this anime isn't about pure strength, its about the abilities. If you have a Pain with all of his abilities rolled into a single body, that shit is broken as fuck.
