This is the Oriana Kingdom. Roses homeland. All the scenes have been in the Oriana Kingdom, except for Gamma's scenes, I believe. (Though, you probably maybe Have figured that out next episode)

Nah this is not the lawless city, it’s Rose’s home country. The destruction was shadow’s doing in season 1, the atomic in the sanctuary with violet and the Hero.

lets the answer the questions Luke had first of all, Rose is the princess of a different Kingdom than the one Where iris and Alexia are from, this Kingdom is called Oriana Kingdom and its not the same city where Shadow went Atomic in season 1 and neither is it the Lawless city 2- the girl from the inn (former prostitute from the lawless city) was talking about how dashing and great Shadow was when he saved her but she didnt mention his name "Shadow" so Cid thought some random person made a Dashing appearance to save her and left without saying anything. what he doesnt know is that he was talking about himself, so when he left the money at her doorstep he was thinking about outdoing that random person, thats why he let her get a glimpse of him as Shadow 3- nobody knows where that flyer came from XD

It might help if you just think of Cid as an actual sociopath. I mean it in the literal sense, just someone who has no moral compass. To him killing someone and giving someone a pouch of gold coins are equally easy, and he'll do both IF it makes him look cool. His only saving grace (so far) is that he doesn't needlessly murder... though the bar for "needlessly" is very very low.

I still feel like this is 36 episodes worth of story in 12 episodes. Which would be good for One Piece, but in Eminence in Shadow, I feel like a metric ton is missing.

So luke getting lost & confused.... The city in this episode is the capital of Oriana Kingdom, that rose was the princess of. When she killed her father, the king, who was being drugged and manipulated, the kingdom broke into a civil war. They are not in the lawless city. 5:18 The Perv faction? -yes the duke that was drugging the king is called "perv asshat". A lot of the names are viewed through a lens of Cid's mentality of not caring for side character names. So their name are based on their appearance, actions, or effect on the story. So you get a lot of strange names. From season 1 you had names like: Toppe Batterius (a guy who uses baseball equipment), Stihl-Aint Happnin (mob character who was going to fail, Still Ain't Happening), Mundane Mann (a non-descript person cid disguised himself as for the tournament) Cid was not praising the thugs, he was praising this mysterious individual that saved the inn keeper when she was in the lawless city. Cid didn't realize she was talking about shadow. Remember Cid's entire existence revolves around eminence in shadow and eminence in shadow adjacent things/moments. So when another person exhibited eminence in shadow qualities he called him "dashing" and "did not want to lose" to them. Cid did not want to kill rose, the scenario he imagined was that shadow would be the mysterious backer of the tyrant when a party of heroes confronted her.

Luke, I think that others already mentioned it, but if you listen to Cid's monologues in the Inn you notice that he was looking for cool Eminence in Shadowish inspirations. When Mary told him about her past and how she got saved by someone, he liked the story and wanted to replicate the same thing. That is why took on his favorite dish (bandits/outlaws), gave her her money back and disappeared without a frenzy this time 😅

Agreed. Cid isn't an asshole per se, nor is he a good guy. His entire decision-making flowchart can be summed up as "Does this let me Eminence aura farm or not?" Morality just doesn't enter into it. As such, he is more than happy to give someone a bag of coins and walk away if he thinks it makes "Shadow" look cool and mysterious. He's not doing it to help her; he just wants the aura.

C-Tier: Zeta (?_, Nu (love Shadow but have their own things going), most other Shadow Garden members. D-Tier: Eta (would like to experiment on Shadow, but more obsessed with her inventions), Rose (in love with Cid rather than Shadow).

Cid is definitely a weirdo. He doesn't give a shit about anyone, what he actually values is their 'story'. I don't know if he thinks this world is a dream or the afterlife or a simulation, but he definitely doesn't act like it's real. I'm 100% convinced the only reason he saved the girl from SA and then gave her money is because he likes the story of a prostitute turning her life around and opening a shop. He doesn't care about her, he just likes that story, so he'll nudge things so that story continues. If anyone evil ever realized that about Cid they could easily manipulate him. Like tell him it'd be a great plot twist if at the last moment he betrayed Shadow Garden and sided with The Cult, and he'd probably do it.
