Naruto pacing really is some of the worst I’ve seen in anime (I get why btw), I was thinking of starting One Piece tho, is it really worse than this with pacing?

I've heard One Piece will replay like half or more of an episode to give 2 minutes of new content. But that's just what I've heard.

I'd say quite a bit worse, While one piece technically adapts the same amount of chapters as one piece does, the main difference between them is that while Naruto has about 40% of fillers you can safely skip one piece only has around 10%, which means that the episodes you have to watch are much, much slower paced, with quite a few episodes adapting less than 1 chapter per episode. the feeling of bad pacing imo also gets worse since the further you get into one piece the worse the pacing gets, with some arcs like dressrosa being particularly bad offenders.

2:54:39 - you're Right, in this or previous episode we saw everybody including izumi and Itachi's mother leaving the Uchiha meeting, only Sasuke didn't attend, only he knew nothing, it's implied every Uchiha was in agreement (minus shisui, itachi and sasuke).

It's usually 2 to 5 minutes of rehashing whatever happened at the end of the previous episode, plus the opening, then after all that, you move into the episode. There's usually about 15 minutes of new content per episode, but there are a few episodes that are straight up half recap. Those usually happen after a hiatus or bunch of filler.

Are you going to do a Haikyu live stream on twitch today on Monday or tomorrow on Tuesday or maybe on Wednesday to make up for not being able to do it on Sunday due to this long Naruto stream on Saturday. or are we all going to have to wait an entire week till next Sunday for the Haikyu stream. Because if you make all us Haikyu fans wait an entire week instead of doing a Haikyu reaction make up stream to make up for missing Sundays stream thats not really fair to us now is it.

Ironclaw, haikyuu was always tentative on the schedule based off when the subathon ended. this is not the way to ask for things, a simple will haikyuu get a makeup will suffice.

It's a hit or miss thing. I'm usually not interested, but sooometimes there are things that are discussed that might be of our interest. Maybe uploading that part in a separate post would be fine, or maybe mention in the description when the reaction starts.

remember when just the 3rd and 2 of his most loyal guards knew that naruto was the kyubi's jinchuriki and minato asked for naruto to be treated as a normal kid? well, everybody, and i mean everybody on the whole village later knew that naruto was the junchuriki and how naruto was the son of the 4th hokage and thay had money and a house? yes, naruto lived in a small and cheap apartment and survived of cheap ramen and ichirakus gifting him ramen because he was broke yeah, all the hate on the 3rd hokage is justified

Itachi Shinden is not filler, it's canon that was released in a novel instead of in the manga. It's very common for larger anime to do that - for some of the One Piece characters, we only know their name because of side material.

from here is what i consider the downhill of shippuden. If anyone did not see boruto, kaguya and the aliens isn't what made boruto bad, it is boruto's personality and the 80% filler 20% canon episodes.

Naw, it was ruined through all the filler. And, well yeah the Kaguya fight is a bit too long, but one would expect the Mother of the origina of chakra and Old Man Super Sage there, to be rather significant when we delve this deep into the entire history of Ninshu. I rather enjoy all the lore around it too.

6:23:19 There's a very good reason why anime like Naruto, One Piece, and Dragon Ball Z does this with the pacing: Its a weekly anime with manga coming out concurrently. Typically, with long-running Shonen anime such as this, the manga comes out like in Weekly Shonen Jump, every week. The mangaka working his ass off, putting out chapter after chapter every week. Maybe a year goes by, and it gets popular enough that it gets picked up to be turned into an anime. Production starts, and you can say it'll be another six months or so till the anime first airs. The manga has a year and a half head start on the story. But, this is Shonen. We gotta air the anime version every week. Every. Week. All year long. Very quickly, the anime catches up to the manga. What can the animators do when they start to catch up to the manga when there's no more story they can base their animation off of? Filler. Loads, and loads of filler. Now, they do try to avoid this with the run up to catching the manga, this is why you have episodes that are long drawn out, with not much actually happening in the episode. DBZ spoiler here, luke will forget if he reads this, but there was a part in DBZ where they had a 5 minute count-down until a planet exploded. That 5 minutes turned out to be like 6 or 7 episodes! Look at this Ninja War. Its like 200+ episodes, and it only covers two whole days of the war. Now, I forget but I think around the time when episode 460-ish was coming out, Kishimoto was pretty much wrapping up the manga. He might have even been done by then, I don't actually remember. But, prior to this there was a HUGE chunk of filler episodes, because the animators just weren't sure where the manga was gonna go before then, so they took the opportunity to make a ton of "Genjutsu Dream" episodes. Today, anime has basically solved this problem with shonen anime. The manga still gets produced every week, BUT, the animation studios decided to move to a seasonal anime schedule. 12 episodes a quarter, maybe even a 24 episode run for a half a year. And then they take a break while they continue work on the anime for release at a later time. But, as an old school anime fan... which way is better? Getting new episodes of anime every week all year long, and have to deal with filler? Or, Getting a season of anime, no or very little filler, and having to wait probably a whole year to see the next season? I think largely we've come to a consensus that seasonal anime works better. Especially since there's so, so much anime coming out every season, that we have stuff to watch in between while we are waiting for our longer running stories to come out.

6:57:20 I don't subscribe to the notion of Kaguya being an "alien" really. They show something impacting the Earth, a tree growing at its center, and then a ball of light coming from that and its Kaguya. That doesn't mean "alien." We've seen in Naruto that chakra can carry the spirits of the dead, and the spirits can last a long time, be resurrected into new bodies, even exist within people's psyche for a long while and even hold conversations with the living. One spirit, Kakashi's dad, was even stuck in "pergatory" not able to move on to a true afterlife until he was forgiven by his son. Clearly to me, there is a spiritual realm in the Naruto world. Now, I'm an atheist so I dont believe in that kind of stuff in the real world. But this is a world of fiction, and to me it seems more like Kaguya and her power of chakra comes from some kind of heavenly-type realm. Why? Who knows? And, we have to know a little something about Japanese folklore, in which Kishimoto draw heavily from in Naruto. Kaguya is quite literally a Princess from the Moon in folklore. Not an alien, but more of a Moon Goddess. So no, in my theory, no alien shit need be involved in this Naruto story.

The thing I hate about the Uchiha storyline is that none of the Uchiha even consider just leaving the village. Entire conflict is avoided by letting them have their own separate village away from everyone else. Also any other ninja clan would love to have the Sharingan, so the Uchiha also could have just snuck away and defected to another country. Like maybe the big ones would be leery about having all the Uchiha join, but the smaller nations would 100% be very happy to have them join, since that'd be a huge power boost for them.

Yeah and no. Leaf village is their home. When you are op, ehy would you just say: "we're not welcome, so let's leave our home and have a new one." Other villages probably wouldn't trust them. Imagine the Uchiha, knocking on doors: "Hey, we had to leave the Leaf, maybe you want our powers?" How suspicious and even pathetic for this strong and proud clan. Don't think only logically. Emotions are always with these kind of situations.

I see where you're coming from, but I still think they're stupid. Even if you're prideful, why would you not explore other options and just immediately decide on a 'do or die' plan that could result in everyone you know and love dying? Village has also screwed over Uchiha's non-stop since it's founding so there's no reason to remain loyal to the village and wanting to stay there imo. I can only assume they valued revenge and bloodshed over the lives of their own family.

I actually hate the twitch chat after Kaguya appeared. If you hate how Naruto is written why watch the stream. And no Kaguya wasn't added later. Some people really don't understand how story writing works. You can't just start and and work towards the end, you have multiple ideas which you use to first of write the ending too so it's easier to write towards the end so it ties up with everything before that. It makes sense that Zetsu and kaguya are the end game because otherwise Madara's sudden wish to use the tsukuyomi someday and the Uchiha tablet would make 0 sense

I think a really cool detail in the flashback with the Akatsuki meeting was that Orochimaru had suspicions about Pain's plan to use the Tailed beasts as deterrence for world conquest, saying there would be many other easier ways to achieve it. Like Orochimaru was smart enough to suspect that wasn't the real reason they were collecting Tailed Beasts, and Zetsu chimed in to interrupt Orochimaru, as of course Zetsu knows the REAL plan and needs the tailed beasts for it to happen.

Yeah, it was rough to see all the hate when it was just barely revealed. Like they don't want to let Luke draw his own conclusions on whether he likes it. They need him to hate it as much as they do. Seems like it would be more enjoyable to leave and come back when it's an episode they like again...
