I’m hereee

T

Made in America live performance please!

A

Please re do the proper vma performance, with the speech at the end. You watched the wrong version and that performance is the perfect live visual of Beyoncé transcending!

T

This whole album shes rebelling against that “good girl” image! She’s sexual, she’s cursing more, there’s anarchy — what a great precursor to Lemonade!!

Danielle

Lukkkeeeeee, I just want to say I STAY loving your reactions, especially when it comes to sentimental things, because you show raw emotions & you're not afraid to be real in those moments! 🥹🫶🏾This Self-titled album as a whole was a journey of Beyoncé, from her evolving in her womanhood through pain, love, insecurities, being a devoted wife, motherhood, freedom in art/expression, & most important LIBERATION!! She showed that you don't have to be perfect in being a woman & it's okay to be uniquely yourself because you go through life lessons, you live through them, & you continue to GROW through it all! "Grown Woman" vibes😉🤌🏾 Such powerful messages that still reign supreme today, She bet on herself with Self-titled & it paid off abundantly!! So thank you for appreciating that & seeing Beyoncé for authentic self, ALWAYS!! 👏🏾🙌🏾❤️🐝 Excited to your Self-titled documentary & screening reactions as well, Yayyyy, Thanks for taking the time to hear us out on this journey & listen to our Beyhive suggestions!! Much love! Also, like I mentioned before, being that you've already reacted to her 2014 VMA performances of these songs, She performs a lot of them at her 2015 Budweiser Made In America Festival for Tidal X & I've found multiple links that have the full concert..Just wanted to share them with you in case you decided to react to it👀🤞🏾🫣😌 The Ultimate Beyoncé collection, https://badassyonce.wixsite.com/website/home-1 where you can find ALLLLLL of her discography from tours, videos, films, concerts & etc. I would say go here for any of your next reactions, honestly... A One-Stop-Shop for Beyoncé content, if you didn't know (you might have mentioned it before)!! Anyways, this is the one link to find the 2015 Made In America Concert from that website.... https://badassyonce.wixsite.com/website/copy-of-live-performances (You can download everything as well)!! Or you can go directly to the concert here..Same site.. https://drive.google.com/file/d/1gt4J8i-V5LWWEaxGc7A3n8uQKiPrQ93m/view?usp=drivesdk *Extra YouTube pages with the full concert as well, below* YouTube https://youtu.be/jUTLKzrzwuE?si=y6C3lVscMZ4pZu3p https://youtu.be/3YQI3FKSDxE?si=-rXz6xSnz2uwz7uR https://youtu.be/O-a-V1tj96k?si=Q3bW_LfpnBBg4GZ2

Make sure to watch the docu and Q&A w fans in one video both on her channel!

douglas marcondes

In my opinion, the best show to see featuring songs from this album was the ON THE RUN tour with Jay-Z. It happened in 2014. You reacted to her performance at the VMAs, where she did a medley of all the songs from the album, so you remember some of the songs.

Lynette Cooper

I don’t know that this era is more “real” per se. I just think that going on the Beyonce journey takes you on an over 20, almost (30 if you include DC) year evolution of a maturing woman in various stages of life. Just wait until you see her in Lemonade, My Friend.

pen

Yessss

pen

Documentary and q&a from this is a must! ❤️

One Blacque Gyrl

Luke: “Self titled talked on so much cultural topics” lemonade album: hold my purse

MykeYonce

are you planning to do the 5-part Self Titled Documentary on her channel? each part is only like 3-5 minutes long but I feel it is so necessary when reacting to things from this era, as well as the Q&A Screening (try to do the Q&A video that has a runtime of 12:17 because the one on her channel was chopped up and misses some things)

Elijah Worthen

Yes!! That whole concert was sooo iconic!!!

Sydney Barrett

Aww Luke you're such a sweet gentle soul 💖 ❤️

douglas marcondes

I lost my cousin/brother, it will be a year in a few days. He was only 18 years old and was a sweet boy, and hearing Heaven watching this reaction and hearing you made me break down. But at the same time, it comforted me.

The One and Only Angela L. Dawson

So many people including myself cling to it being a heaven just so we can be reunited with our people. I miss my Daddy and brothers so much! 💔💔💔

T

Hearing the lyrics “hold on me” knowing how many miscarriages she’s had and that they called her blueberry in the womb 🥺 in hindsight I’m interpreting the lyrics differently, like literally hold on me so I can bring you in the world!! 😢

MykeYonce

18:10 it was never confirmed but my own theory behind ‘Superpower’ MV and lyrics is that it’s about LGBTQ+ love and equality. considering that Frank Ocean is apart of the community, it’s not so far fetched, especially with the lyrics “the laws of the world tell us what goes sky and what falls. the laws of the world never stopped us once.” what she means by that is the world tells us who’s gonna go to hell and who will go to heaven based on who we love but those “laws” never and will never stop us from loving eachother the way that we do. you can also see many signs and vandalism with the word “LOVE” in the MV, and then i wanna believe that everyone coming together at the end of the video was them standing up to police brutality. I could be completely wrong but that is just how I interpreted this song and MV for many years and i’ve never seen anyone else talk about it or interpret it this way!

Shaun Hanna Reynolds

I’d say You probably heard some stuff just before in life , radio internet , etc too

fry

we just got so close to homecoming i’m so excited

Charles Brown

When you were reacting to Superpower, you were hesitant to share your interpretation - dont be! Beyonce creates art and it should speak to you differently - especially as you revisit it at varying chapters of life. I LOVE hearing new and differing perspectives 💯

Torri

Thank you for opening up about your grandmother and where you are in your beliefs. I really enjoy your reactions, but I have also enjoyed getting to know you and see what a wonderful soul you are 🫶🏼. God bless you. I pray that He continues to bless you and your family.

Roy Martin

I’ve been a Beyoncé-fan since 1998. And Self-titled was released three weeks after I lost my father. I couldn’t believe that the artist most important to me released a heartbreaking song about death right as I was heartbroken and grieving. I played Heaven on repeat for weeks, it was so healing. Thank you for that reaction, Luke ❤️

douglas marcondes

Blue is one of my favorite songs, so beautiful, so true. There's a song that's not so well-known, a bonus track from the documentary Life Is But a Dream (which you've seen), called God Made You Beautiful, also written for Blue, which is simply beautiful. I recommend you listen to it, and you don't even need to react, but I think you'll love it and dedicate it to your little ones. https://youtu.be/CeShZW_85sM?si=M1W25g2gl6bLWV6D

Until 2013, in the US, albums were always released on Tuesdays, with months of promotion and singles beforehand. Beyoncé broke that mold by releasing a surprise album, without any warning, on a different day and already complete (with music videos). The impact was so great that the industry abandoned Tuesdays and adopted Fridays as the standard; at the time, iTunes crashed due to the sheer volume of downloads. Since then, surprise releases and a focus on first-day releases/streaming have become the norm; she changed the industry with this album.

Ania K.

In "heaven" Beyonce sings about her miscarriages.

Teriagotemhookd

I was happy you recognized Kelly and Michelle in Superpower. And it’s true. 7/11 is a result of her leaving Jay and just figuring everything out.

Lynette Cooper

Also, your reaction to Superpower will set you well for everything left in her discography. It’s gets very cultural after this.

Ahmir B

Yes Luke, do the 5-part Self-Titled mini-doc as well as the Screening Q&A (they can be done in one video) for behind the scenes on the album production. As many have said, there is no official film for the Mrs. Carter Show World Tour where she performed this album. If you would like a long-form performance, I suggest Made in America 2015 in Philly, available on YouTube. As for Lemonade…many people consider this Beyoncé’s magnum opus so it’s very important this is delicately handled lol. I highly suggest listening to the album in its entirety first. It tells a full story and the visual album will be very multilayered that I think it may be overwhelming to try and take in everything at once if you don’t already know the music. I know you typically break it up, but I would say this album in particular is the type where you should listen in one sitting. For editing and posting purposes you can still cut it, but I think to do it justice it’s best to hear it all at once and not separate days. Once you’ve listened to the audio, the film can be its own reaction. It is a connected film unlike self-titled which is 17 separate videos, so again, one sitting is best to appreciate it all.

Qweencasss

Aaaaaw Luke I’m so sorry about your grandmother! Grief is such a “funny” thing I lost my dad and sometimes a song like that just puts me in that moment that I heard he passed. Crazy how music can do that.

Mia Speakz

Loved this reaction.. this was everything. I did not know that she took blue and stayed in a hotel room but I knew this album was the beginning of trouble with them. I can't wait to know more.

Curwin Sphere

The mini docuseries is a must after this. I also think that the best live show that include self titled music would be her On the run tour with Jay Z. You'll enjoy them together on this like never before. Good preparation for Lemonade. That tour is also where that one performance of Resentment in the almost wedding like outfit is from.

Lynette Cooper

Do you all think he should do the performance at Kobe’s funeral?

Mia Speakz

Oh my God, after you watch everything that pertains to this album.... you did watch her 2014 superbowl performance right? If not, then make sure you do the documentary for this, the super bowl and MADE IN AMERICA. Then LEMONADE AAAAAHHHH I'M SO EXCITED!!!!! MY FAVORITE Album(CRASHOUT BEYONCE!!!! BLACK EMPOWERED BEYONCE). CANT WAIT!!!

Ania K.

oh boy u are gonna be stunned after Lemonade album. Please watch the Lemonade as a whole movie. Not just seperate videos. There is story behind it and you should watch it as a Whole Body of work.

Ahmir B

This is actually a common misconception! Her mom Tina lost a close friend and this is a tribute to her, hence the video being about two friends

Grady Jefferson

Definitely since he loves XO. It gives it another meeting and also Halo too.

I.AmZai

Now you have to watch Mrs Carter Show World Tour or On The Run Tour 1

Shaun Hanna Reynolds

Soooo excited for lemonade but are we doing some performances first 🥰

Gey

I can’t tell you how much the Brazilian Beyhive loves Blue’s song, the music, and that moment. Beyoncé is such a private person, always keeping her life to herself, and then boom: an amazing video about her greatest love, on our beaches, with love, music, and dancing, sun and happiness. Luke, I can’t wait for you to listen to “PROTECTOR” on Cowboy Carter, another amazing song Beyoncé wrote for her little ones and for every parent. There’s still a long way to go before we get there, but I can assure you that every song, album, show.. only gets better. Thank you so much for this jorney, is SO good to rewatch Beyoncé's videos and songs with you!

Jie

I can’t wait for Lemonade!

Jie

I disagree about lemonade. The album was released after the film. Most of us first saw it as the film without knowing the music which is what Beyoncé intended

Ahmir B

Generally speaking, I think that's a good idea since that's how the masses first experienced upon release. However, Luke is listening for the first time with the specific intent as a reactor. His job is to express to us what he experiences. We are only going to see him experience it once, not every subsequent time he watches/listens. Lemonade is much more complex than Self-Titled, and the music, vocals, production alone is its own journey without adding the visuals and additional context of the film. Also, as with ST and 4, he tends to not go back and react to individual tracks that are cut shorter with visuals, so with that in mind it'd be best to hear everything in its entirety, and then move forward with the film where he has the foundation of the music and can focus on everything else to react to.

Ahmir B

The Blue Ivy comment was referencing how (unfortunately) when Blue was younger she was heavily bullied by the public and media alike for looking like Jay (her father, mind you) and how they chose to style her hair. They were saying she resembles youn Beyoncé and people would regret speaking on her looks.

Victoriabxnd

I agree with this! The best course to take from here before Lemonade 🍋💛

HKAMILAH

Please also react to the bonus songs for this album!

p34$

Can you please watch The Mrs. Carter tour first then The On The Run tour 2014 next

Elliott Crowe

Please do HBOs On the Run Tour 1. Bey and Jay doing the damn thing together. Was my first time seeing her live, and in HTown. Haven’t missed a Houston show since.

lyn Laugh247

The crash out comment definitely wrong. Jay filming most if not all the video. That’s him moving to avoid capture on some shots. If I remember correctly this video happened at the end of a tour and the ladies dancing with her were her most consistent dancers until Renaissance when she hired all new but two.

lyn Laugh247

I absolutely skip both Heaven and Blue on re-listening. Back to back is just heartbreaking. I was watching you try to compose yourself after Heaven knowing you were about to crash out again on Blue.

Helena

Yeah definitely listen to Lemonade first so it’s not too overwhelming. Then the lemonade film. Gets to hear all the lyrics and songs in full the. Gets to listen too the music explained though music, poems & film. ❤️❤️❤️❤️

lyn Laugh247

Glad you caught the true meaning of Grown Woman. The whole album is about removing industry expectations and leaving the audience’s innocent yet childish viewpoints of her behind. She removed herself from their box and showed the complexity of her character and the diversity of a woman. .The girl who becomes a woman, a business, a creative, a wife, a mother, and recognizes her humanity.

Bella Raye Maven

YES!!! After the self titled docs/videos of course, the Made in America Concert is a must watch! LUKE PLEASE!!!! Her energy on this one was insane!!!!

Bella Raye Maven

The song 7/11 at 1:07:43 Look quickly and closely, Blue is behind Bey laying on the bed. 😏💙

m

Yess

Santia Nash

Please now react to the MTV 2014 live performance and the documentary I really think you should watch the short interview of her that she talks about the album to fans

Saphire

I remember someone saying that after having a child it feels like you're living with your heart outside of your chest.

Leah B

I don’t think that was Beyoncé’s sister as kids, I think that was Kelly Rowland from Destiny’s Child. They’ve know each older most of their lives. Maybe you can react to some Kelly songs so you can recognize her better because you miss her a lot. 😊

Jodi

I have the lyrics “heaven couldn’t wait for you” tattooed in remembrance of my dad. He passed away when I was a baby and I can never listen to Heaven without crying🥺🕊️

Tabi Arrey

Superpower is about activism and the fight against police brutality

Tabi Arrey

Heaven is about Tina Knowles’ best friend who lost her life to cancer.

Kells881

First, I want to say to you to please stop apologizing for not remembering if you can’t remember something you may have seen or heard before. You are cramming all of her music at such a quick pace, how can you possibly remember everything, smh. Just a heads up when you get to the next masterpiece “Lemonade “ it is not a dance album. It’s about the different emotions you go through & that’s all I will say. It is a visual album as well. 7/11 wasn’t about Jay. That was just her having fun. People like to add their own stories to what they think was happening, after knowing what did.

Cynthia Fenderson

What a journey! We love it Luke! Lord Lemonade gone be a lot! Y’all think he gone make it through? Sandcastle is going to definitely have him choked up! When you gone listen to us and get your tissue box ?

Tabi Arrey

7/11 was shot entirely on Beyoncé’s iPhone. Allegedly, she had moved out of her home with Jay-Z at this point because of the marital issues they were having

HELENIA DUKES

The first time I heard Heaven, I was an emotional wreck for 20 minutes thinking about my mom. Every time I hear the song, I have the same reaction. I was looking just like you watching your reaction lol. It's such a good song, but one I try not to listen to if I can help it.

douglas marcondes

Brazil ama ter um clipe da Bey aqui 🇧🇷♥️

Senè

1. please react to the documentary and Beyonces 2014 mtv ;vanguard awards performance .... if there is a concert you should react to that falls within this 2014 timeline it's the OTR I tour with her and Jay z (joint tour) - which is worth a watch (it was an HBO production). then i think you can move on. 2. based off how that hotel looks it's speculated that this was where she was living during their break *which she did confirm she left* and she filmed this video completely on her iphone. 3. I love your reactions... don't apologize for anything!!!!!

Tishae Griffin

The part where you were reacting to heaven and then talked about your nan passing brought tears to my eyes, 🥲

ShoTTie2ts

After my father passed we played Heaven during is visual I could not listen to the song after without breaking it’s been 10 years and I still can’t.

Lenny Shepherd

Please react to her 16 minute VMA Vanguard performance! It's almost every song from self titled in one epic mini concert! Iconic

Jory H Bell

Now you have to do the behind the scenes mini-documentary of this album! It’s broken up into four parts and here is the link to the first video from her official YouTube page!! https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=IcN6Ke2V-rQ Shouldn’t have too many copyright problems since the videos originate from YouTube!

Jory H Bell

It’s a great miniseries and we get to see this “new” Beyoncé behind the scenes. I truly believe this self titled album is Beyoncé re-introducing herself after becoming a wife and a mother.

Shay Tinney

This has been an amazing journey. I look forward to these reactions…. Thank you 🙏 Now I hope after the mini documentary you do the VMA Michael Jackson vanguard award performance for this album.

Criss080

He’s not gonna survive it 😩

StickyKeys

Some of the reasons you may have heard this is because it was UBIQUITOUS during this time frame. I Slay, Boy Bye, I Woke Up Like Dis are all huge cultural moments in the zeitgeist. Also, when she says "my ROC" she's referring to Jay-Z who founded ROC nation.

StickyKeys

She really finesses the camera technique in Black is King with Already. But you're right. It's just a stylized choice which can be very cool. It's not necessarily that they shoot in slo-mo, but all of the movements are slowed down IRL and then sped up in post.

StickyKeys

7/11 was filmed in the penthouse of the Beverly Wilshire! Right in Beverly Hills.
