About the Obito-eyes thing: When someone dies, their chakra (soul) moves on to the afterlife. However, Obito chose to first give his chakra to Kakashi for a limited time. His chakra 'activated' the Sharingan in Kakashis eyes. (This only works when the uchiha died.) Normally, you take the eye itself because it's already been 'activated'. That's why Kakashi couldn't keep the sharingan. It's not physical eyes, just temporary chakra, given by Obito.

Hey Luke, thanks for all those many many months of Naruto greatness! I was wondering wether or not you're going to read chapter 700 of the manga on stream aswell. It's the final chapter of the manga that perfectly ends the story but for some reason, it's not included in the anime... It's a very satisfying conclusion to Naruto's story and there's an importang thing happening in it so you'd absolutely miss out on that by not reading it. There are countless websites where you could read it, there's even a colored version of it, so I hope you're gonna read it after the final episode/movie. Wouldn't take more than 5mins ✌🏻😄 Cheers!

You take of rewarding change is bad. People should change regardless of a reward, they could've only changed because there is a reward waiting for them. And rewarding change, also rewards bad behaviour too, people will end up doing bad things, then "changing" for a reward, then repeat that same cycle. Abusing the system. And imagine how the family of a victim would feel, if their killer "changed", and got rewarded with a lighter sentence.

It was an amazing journey, Luke. I subscribed to your Patreon bcs of Naruto and really enjoyed watching your reactions. Unlike other reaction channels, the way you watched Naruto—5–6 episodes every week and doing subathons—was so much better. And of course, you’re not done with the series yet. I personally love the episodes from here on. The slice-of-life parts, the characters’ personal growth, and seeing where everyone ends up toward the end of the series are really special. The The Last movie is great as well. As for Boruto, I don’t really have much to say. Like you guessed, there are canon events and some questions about the universe get answered, but overall Boruto is very repetitive, with weaker characters and villains. It also feels more childish. Still, you could watch the first movie that introduces Boruto. Thank you. I’ll definitely be following you again when you start One Piece and Bleach.

Kaguya's return or black zetsu controlling eveything from the start was never planned from the start. She was created because they would not let kishimoto end the series and he had to come up with fucking aliens sadly. Notice Kaguya was never mentioned unlike the sage of six paths. Also if the twist is this character didnt planned everything it was this character it doesn't take much skill for that the skill was all the story to this point you just change the final villian. The plot twist works because all the set up is there you just change I did everything not him.

Ultimately the story revolves around ninshu. the technique Hagoromo created to connect everyone via chakara. it's how we saw all those moments in the sparkling space and whenever we saw chakara clashing like what Bee taught naruto to do with the fist bumps. It's been great reexperiencing this and watching you experience the story of Naruto Uzumaki has been a privilege.

Well if chackra comme from space and they are litterally a parasite species like you saw the divine tree, giving people chackra to then have them produce chakra for then use them as chackra batterie/food. Then it can make sense, Chakra is a parasite ingrained in them, like litteraly to the point where chackra can take your personality like minato chackra in Naruto, for all we know all those chakra ghost are not the real afterlife but a copy of it. Anyways what i'm saying is just that chakra is not natural and is a parasite to this planet, so you can explain it like that if u wanna find an angle to explain it. Look at rock lee our handsom green devil, he can't use special chakra tecnique but like anyone he would die without chackra...that's weird for someone not using it, as any civilian why even have chackra if it's not for them to use it x) Well maybe because they are just living fruit at the end of the day. (then again it's just an intepretation the show don't directly state a response to your question because it's very specific, The thing you are asking is what is the difference that kill people with chackra and without and if they are even really human still or if not everyone is now half alien in theory.)

For anyone wondering the reason why madara death was annoying is because we were hyped since early shippuden days about madara and he is a hyped character throught the entire series. Imagine watching for a decade for this hyped character and ultimate fight against him and then you just kill him to "plot". No one was angry cuz madara died, people were angry cuz he was killed pretty much off-screen, no fight. We had expectations and they were betrayed. Binging feels different. AS a binge rewatcher I don't feel the anger I felt back then, but if I had to watch hundreds of episodes weekly, this is biggest betrayal ever.

People, also Luke, are forgetting some lore. Second Hokage told Sasuke, that Uchiha members feel great love and go evtl when they lose this love. That's the reason for those extreme actions of Madara, Sasuke and Obito.

I started to watch him, because of AOT and I stayed because its as cheap as it gets. In the world there is so much greed, that you can feel it when someone wants something from you. BUT with Luke I don't feel that and that and his real reactions is something that makes him the best anime reaction channel.

3:36:53 - first time they sealed kaguya sealing jutsu created a moon, madara summoned a husk of 10 tails gedou statue from moon's core, which included kaguya's body, and now they sealed her the same way but in different dimension. (moon core was Kaguya which Madara summoned after he awakened the Rinnegan).

Since Obito have a timey-wimey space jutsu he was able to reach out from the afterlife (which was already established to exist) and give some of his jutsu to Kakashi...

Luke if you think about it, Obito has transferred his eyes before with just straight chakra. He did it when he reanimated the jinchuriki, remember they all had sharingan and rinnegan. Also its similar to what pain did with the corpses and the chakra rods

The one thing I hate about these episodes is how power crept Kakashi is. Like start of the series he's the copy ninja with over 1000 jutsu. Fast forward to this war in Shippuden and almost every ability used is one he can't copy with the Sharingan, and the overwhelming majority of his Jutsu never get seen, since presumably they're all super weak compared to the stuff he made himself, or the stuff others are using. It's fine for Kakashi to be weak, but he should have just had a near infinite bag of tricks, pulling out random Jutsu all the time to manipulate the battlefield or aid allies or hinder enemies in unexpected ways. Should have given him more enemy Jutsu he could counter too. Like imagine how sick it would have been if during the fight with Madara, he was a key part of holding off Madara to buy time by just copying and countering every jutsu Madara tried to use.

53:45 No, most of these long running manga, just like a lot of long novels, are built off a basic structure of what the writer THINKS he wants it to go. Often times they either write themselves into corners, and have to write ways around certain things (Which is my theory as to why George RR Martin is taking so long with Game of Thrones, he wrote himself into a corner and cant figure out how to get out of it!). Many times, the story kinda writes itself. Remember, if you're an up and coming manga artist and you start a manga called "Naruto", you dont know if its gonna be successful at the start. So, you write in a way where if you sell a few chapters, okay good start, and if it stops selling, move on to the next story you might think of. If it sells well, you expand the story, keep it growing, think of new conflicts for your characters, etc. But you keep in mind that at any moment the manga might stop selling and you'll have to find a point to wrap it up, if you can even do that without it being outright cancelled. Kishimoto, initially his idea for Naruto was quite different than what we got. You should look up some of his "prototype" designs for Naruto as a character. Anyway, I'm not sure exactly, but I would assume that at the start of Naruto, Kishimoto probably had a good story of just ninja adventures in his mind at the start, with characters drawn from folk tales and traditional Japanese stories about ninjas (Hell, Sasuke as a name of a ninja itself is basically ubiquitous with "ninja." Its almost the default name of all fictional ninja characters from history, just about), but I'd imagine he had enough of a backbone of a story to sustain his manga for at least a year, but he had to stay flexible of course with the story. As he gained success, he could get more experimental and go broader with the story, probably planning out a longer term idea of where the story could eventually go. I bet you that even when he started this war arc, he probably still was unsure of how he was going to finish it. But there were clues early on. Mentions of the Sage of the Six Paths, a mention that he once created the moon (why did he create the moon? Nagato didn't know at the time, but those versed in Japanese folklore could assume that there might be a Moon Princess sealed up in there, Kaguya, a name drawn directly from Japanese stories). Thats a long winded way to say that, while as cool as it is that Kishimoto made this story as it is, some fans could look at it and say that he kinda milked it for too long, made it more and more ridiculous as time went on, adding layers of layers of plot and contrivances, betrayals and ever more god-like powers of these characters. It could have easily ended in just one giant war against "Tobi" who really just wanted to gather the tailed beasts to control and keep the world in order under his thumb, as early Shippuden episodes stated as a reason why the Akatsuki existed. But nope, he kept adding on layers, and honestly Naruto lost some fans because of it by the very end. It was getting TOO outlandish for some people. And this is just from the manga fanbase. When it came to the anime, because of how much fillers this final war had, it REALLY started to annoy a lot of fans, which hurt the viewership by this point. So yeah, its really, really hard to write something that goes on for a long time. To try to wrap up loose ends, to make the plot aim towards an end goal, and to satisfy the story for the characters in a way that makes sense and is satisfying for the fans too. Only Oda is the one person I can think of who is on record of saying a long, long time ago that he has the entirety of One Piece mapped out in his head on where its going and where its going to end. Something like 15 years ago or so, there was an interview with him asking if he had an idea of how much longer he wanted to write One Piece, like if he was gonna be done anytime soon. His answer was something like "Oh, I'm not even halfway done", granted this was already over 10+ years into the manga, but he knew that to complete the story he had in his mind, it would take at least as long as he's already been working on it, if not more, to finish it.

From the moment Sasuke showed up in the war, he said "I'll be Hokage, and I'll get rid of the old way of the ninja world entirely", he literally said it. He hasn't gone back on his word at this point. In a way he kinda has a point. The world did all go to shit under all this ninja turmoil. Sometimes things need to be torn down completely in order to build it back up completely new. Seal up the tailed beasts, so no one can use them as weapons anymore. The old Kage, eh I dont agree with killing them, but just strip them of their titles and status. I dunno. But I'm just like, why is anyone shocked by this?

without Sakura they wouldnt seal kaguya. and in fact in the manga it was shown that sakura's hit destroyed one of goddess horn and one of her byakugan. that was her strongest punch in the series ;)

sasuke gaining the rinnegan actually makes sense, its nothing like that ass pull with kakashi gaining perfect susano out of knowhere. sasuke is an uchiha, when he was on the brink of death he gained hashirama sage cells from kabuto. just like madara was on the brink of death he gained hashiramas powers and gained the rinnegan.

People saying none of this were mentioned before or came out of nowhere, they just didn’t read or watched Naruto with full attention, Kakashi mentioned after naruto vs sasuke (og naruto, final vally) that they are like hashirama and madara, and until one succeeded the battle won’t end, that is for cycle of hatred (from indra/asura to madara and hashirama to sasuke and naruto). Pain/Nagato warned naruto about his life that being set up by someone “or rather” by a real God (this hints about Black Zetsu pulling the strings from behind). Knowing madara is part of that (cycle of hatred by being one of the reincarnation) make it that the “true god” is someone else which we only know two (god of ninshu Hagoromo and Kaguya) and black Zetsu is the will of Kaguya. People just wanted Madara to be the final villain and they close their eyes to the hints

I know it'll be up to a vote and that it will likely never actually win, but I have to agree with the one or two people in chat who think Luke might like Boruto the show. I found a lot of it frustrating in certain ways for sure, but there are a lot of really good moments and it would be interesting to hear his thoughts on it. *Edit: Also, I am very amused at the anger over having started to like Sasuke only for him to turn around and become the villain again. Same, man. Same. I almost started liking him when he started helping out but he really spent that whole time planning on killing everyone. Like, ugh. So annoying of him. Wonderful subathon!

Though it's quite long ago and it seems like a lot of people don't really get the writing about obito giving Kakashi the Sharingan temporarily. The second Hokage explained how the Sharingan works. It's a special Chakra which only Uchiha could produce in special circumstances. Obito couldn't give his Eyes to Kakashi, because they had to transplant it properly (like with rins help in the past or with itachis eyes to upgrade these for Sasuke). So that's the reason why not just give them. So - how does it work? Like the Sage and like it was explained - Chakra connects (think also about the rebirth jutsu or edo tensei). So, Obito transfered his Uchiha Chakra to Kakashi with his unique ability of space traveling. The thing is - its only temporary, because its just chakra. It's like a battery. He could use the battery one time and afterwards its over. If you transplant the eye, you don't just have the battery, but also the gene to reload the necessary Uchiha Chakra to use the Sharingan more often and so on. I hope that helps. Yeah, in the series there are plot holes, but this one is accurate fitting writing. You just have to connect the dots of the whole law and story.
