Daddy Lessons at the CMAs - it’s very important in the Beyoncé lore - and Love Drought / Sandcastles at the Grammys then you’re good for HOMECOMING! I also recommend two speeches from the 2017 Grammy ceremony: Lemonade - Urban Contemporary Album and 25 - Album of the Year.

I agree, the hair was sensational. The visuals were so brilliant. Her ear bleeding and her just carrying on like nothing happened... iconic... so reflective of her 'the show must go on' attitude. Were we not supposed to be doing Lemonade album reaction before we move on? 2026-09-07 01:00 There’s definitely more than 2 more performances you should see before homecoming! The BET awards with Kendrick, the 2015 grammy’s (if you want to see pure vocals no dancing), the 2016 grammy’s, CMA’s (necessary context for cowboy carter), vma’s, (tbh the 2014 and 2016 ones) and made in america festival before doing homecoming. Because you really see her find her footing producing a live show and set, and you can see her directing skills progress, which leads to arguably her best live set: homecoming.

"The album is bigger and better than the last one" — at this point in her career, it really felt like that. In the latter part of her career, I think it's not because it was "bigger and better", but because they have become more intentional and deep. A friend of mine and I are researchers and academics, we akin it to the idea that each Beyoncé album since Lemonade took on a topic, experience, or subject is like a dissertation. It is a disservice to the album and or one's self to just shallowly consume it. It's this process of discovering, understanding, and forming your own informed opinion about the subject she's taking on that makes it such a beautiful and enriching experience. ADD TO THAT, of course, is the fact that the production, vocals, writing, etc are all so well done and excellent. So glad to be re-experiencing and experiencing Beyoncé's journey again with you. And like I said, going through her life/journey/discography with you reminds me so much of why I love this woman. 🥰
