Hey so sorry to post this in another video but Luke I feel I'm doing you a disservice in not recommending you Maō no Musume wa Yasashi Sugiru!! you at least need to check out the OP and ED its a dark fantasy about a princess whose struggles to combat her true nature cause issues for those closest to her I think you'd really enjoy it regardless of whether you wan to react to it or not plus its only like 12 episodes or so and is still ongoing think the manga is pretty much complete tho main conflict was resolved anything else is extra for the fans

2:03 we most likely will, this is actually the first episode of this season not storyboarded by the director, and the person who storyboarded and directed this episode is the most likely to be the next director after goshozono leaves the production (he is the assistant director of season 3, and has been heavily involved with the production ever since season 1)

Also, about what you said about the conviction rate, from what I've learned about Japan's justice system, it's probably at least leaning towards the latter (the justice system not caring about what the accused has to say). Japan is criticized for a legal system in which confessions are often coerced out of people, and suspects are detained for weeks without access to a lawyer.

as for reggie being connected to kenjaku, i'd assume every sorcerer from the past is connected to kenjaku as it was earlier revealed that they are sorcerers who have forged a pact with him when they were alive so that he could ressurrect them during the culling games, and the narrative hints at there being quite a lot of those and they tend to be stronger than modern sorcerers on average and higuruma seems to be like an exceptional sorcerer? thats why he is the boss of the colony and not reggie? i mean he has a domain so he has to be tuff. i dont know if this is correct though cuz i havent read the manga

This episode confirmed that JJK will be just fine after the director leaves, as this wasn't directed by him, and this might be the best JJK episode to date (top 5 at least)

The criticism you mentioned in regards to the too many explosions thing. That’s a bit of a disingenuous way to put it. The main critique was that the tone for the maki vs zenin arc did not match with what was presented in the manga. Specifically that the kill Bill references in the manga were conflated into being the tone setter for the episode when the story beat was much darker originally. From a production standpoint, it was very impressive. No one can deny that, but looking good is half of it. If the direction seems to have a fundamental misunderstanding on how the story was meant to be portrayed, that is an issue no matter how good it looks.

Yes, I agree. The execution was perfect, but didn't like the idea. However, I think they made the decision to lighten the mood because the actual tone in the manga was so dark it would be too suffocating to most people and they would lose viewership.

Now that the mechanisms of the Culling Game are being questioned, I am curious to see what the real motivation behind this particular set up for the games is. One theory I have though, is that Kenjaku wants Yuji to take part and level up, because he wants to take over Yuji's body. We know Kenjaku is all about the evolution of humanity, and that he's been going body to body for who knows how long. He's also been having a ton of kids, and has taken a particular interest in Yuji. Yuji also just so happens to be able to contain all of Sukuna's power and remain in control, and just so happened to be born in a region that housed one of those fingers. I don't think that's a coincidence at this point. I think that a large part of these culling games is that they're designed to 'level up' Yuji so he can become a worthy vessel. That's why each 'stage' has a boss, and why the games seem to be focused on forcing people to become as strong as possible; it's all to get Yuji to achieve his own power and domain expansion and probably master Sukuna's power? Then once that happens Kenjaku can take over? Though that does raise the question of what exactly Yuji's cursed technique is. Is it related to his stronger than normal body somehow? Maybe that's why Kenjaku wanted Sukuna inside of Yuji? He wants to treat sukuna like a storage container for Yuji's cursed energy, to give the body a heavenly restriction, while being able to still tap into Sukuna's cursed energy and techniques? That or Yuji has some op power buried inside him he just hasn't figured out yet. Obviously don't tell me if I'm on the right or not manga readers, I'm just speculating.
