Black is king is Beyoncé best visual so far

Gene

Listening now on my morning walk in Hawaii!!

Erwin 𐚁

Just got my lunch! I’m ready!!!

Slayque3n

Yes please watch black is king movie not the album

Erwin 𐚁

I’m sorry you are dealing with all that bull shit!! I will be sure to share your posts. Sending you positive vibes!!! Stay strong.

Erwin 𐚁

Beyoncé really loves to jump off stuff lol

Bey Brown

Even though I should be sleep. I’m gonna watch this to decompress after losing the battle of trying to get tickets to Jay Z in concert at Yankee Stadium.

Darryl King

If you see this. I hope your week gets better my friend

Breana Blue

Ty Ty is his best friend

Erwin 𐚁

Lol Jay’s verse on “FRIENDS” is all about his friends. He lists all his friends. What it means to be his friend and how they pull each other up.

Danielle

Heyyyyy Lukeeeee, amazing reaction as always!! "I CAN'T BELIEVE WE MADE IT"😏 This far in the Queen's journey😌🙌🏾! I would suggest that if you're going to watch "On The Run Part II" after this, You should react to Jay-z's "Family Fued" & "The Story of OJ" songs from his 4:44 album FIRST because they are performed during that tour! There are videos for both songs, if you just wanna do that as well!! The On The Run Part II tour features the songs from this "The Carters" Album & older songs from each of their catalogs, but its even better than the first OTR concert‼️From there on I'd say Beyoncé's The Gift album or just the Black is King film, & then Acts I & II! It's incredible that Beyoncé isn't even at her peak yet in this Journey, She will continue to elevate, transcend, BLOW YOUR MIND for sure!🤌🏾🐝

Bella Raye Maven

I'm sorry you're a bit down, and hope all gets better. But YES let's hope Beyonce and Jay can bring a little joy to your day. Thanks for all you do! 😏👑🐝🎶🎤💛

Ahmir B

Jay’s FRIENDS verse was very much on topic Luke haha I think you just missed a lot. He was essentially discussing how other people are phony friends (“yall switch sides like NBA teams”) and explicitly named the people in his close circle (“TyTy there E there” etc.) and talked about what friendship meant to him. The t-shirt line wasn’t about concerts lol it referenced a tradition in Black communities. And the “I ain’t going to nobody nothing when me and my wife beefin” was a reference to Kanye being upset Jay wasn’t at his wedding. So yeah like you said Jay’s verses are usually heavy on references so if you don’t know then you miss/misunderstand a lot. Also highly suggest listening to 4:44 regardless of whether or not you do a Jay music journey. It’s very introspective and you’ll learn a lot of the background you wanted to do a deep dive for. Also gives more context for him and Bey’s relationship too.

Tyler Allen

jay’s verse in Friends actually does tie in with the song, today was your off day so i get why you might have just missed it. It’s easy to miss though cause i don’t think it’s literal. I don’t take the song as just meaning casual friends but about Loyalty, trust, and who’s really in your corner. Beyoncé is coming from an emotional, protective angle about her circle and Jay approaches it from a perspective of Level and Access to them. He basically breaks down how not everyone around you is a friend especially at their level. Some people are just there for access, status, or proximity. So instead of repeating the same message as B he expands it by showing the difference between real friends and people who just SEEM like friends and he gives examples in the verses. At least that’s my take on it.

Sydney Barrett

How are you confused about friends lol... he named namedropes all his friends and references a grievance Kanye West had with him regarding their friendship and even gives an explanation lol

The One and Only Angela L. Dawson

I’m so sorry that you’re dealing with bullshit. You work so hard to do this work and someone comes along and steals it! 🤬 I hope you can get it resolved. ❤️

Danielle

This is very much on point👏🏾👏🏾 Listening to Lemonade, then 4:44, and The Carters afterwards would have helped for sure! But it's his journey & he's still learning lol

T

Jays verses on 713 were literal not metaphorical. He details how they met, they’re first date, they’re vacay, and even him spilling about the beans about their secret wedding.

Angivens86

Yes, with Beyoncé being his ultimate friend 🫶🏾!!

Sydney Barrett

Dis you ever wat h steven moffats coupling? All the British pple swear its better than friends...I recently started watching it on prime

Amanda

Luke, it's so crazy that "Friends" is the song you chose to use as the example for Jay being off theme. I was laughing so hard when you said, "unless I'm a complete idiot and just missed everything"! This cracked me up. I think you not knowing much about Jay-Z impacts how the lyrics landed for you. The song is pretty personal and is very on theme. I would argue the Bey is a bit more indirect in her exploration of the topic (other than saying the word Friends). In this song, Jay is literally about his best friend Ty Ty (who is named multiple times) and the importance of his marriage over other relationships (ex: discussing missing Kanye's wedding to work on his relationship).

Angivens86

Jay Z's verses actually have everything to do with the songs. It's just that every other line has 2-4 different meanings. His entendres are legendary!!

gabby 🦋

Black is King then rennyyyyy, this is not a carters journey guys lol this is about beyonce

T

In Friends Jay said: “Tight circle, no squares, I’m geometrically opposed to you, y’all like to try angles (triangles)” …cmon now!! Luke you might have to read lyrics lol his whole verse was about his best friends ..he literally list their names!! 😅

mateo duran

Can't wait for the BEYONCE'S RENAISSANCE AND COWBOYCARTER 😭

T

Right! I don’t even think Beyonce even have friends fr besides her family: Destiny Child and her cousin Angie 😂😂

T

My favorite band is Kings of Leon!! They’re always number 2 after Beyonce 😂😂

Ercilda

Giving the way Black people be getting gun down and amongst other things in America. Jay-Z saying he pray his kids out live him means something. And ''Friends'' is him literally talking about his friends, so it made sense for the song.

Bey Brown

So Jay’s verse on friends is exactly about that, his friends. He listed all of his friends(TyTy, E, Breezy, Juan, Law) and how they would be there for him and vice versa. It’s like Nirvana because it is all love with his people. They putting people on shirts & they don’t even know them. There is some shade there towards Kanye. When Jay Z talks about him and his wife beefing, they missed Kim & Kanye wedding because he was trying to get her back. Also, he was asking questions in confusion like “ya’ll don’t follow codes, do you?” Because obviously he & his friends do. I think you should listen again… Curious what you thought he was saying/meaning during the verse. This whole album is kinda like an inside joke, like IYKYK. If you haven’t heard what has been happening, things will be missed. It’s cool. They address a lot of things

Regal Love

In my opinion, Jay-Z's The Blueprint is the best place to start ur Jay-Z Journey, cause 4:44 is literally his last project.

Teriagotemhookd

On the Run Part II is the concert to watch if you can find it. And I don't mind a Jay Z reaction but I'm still anticipating Black Is King and Making of the Gift. And your wife accidentally watching it is hilarious! I hope you feel better friend!

Tasia F

Friends is one of my favorites. Everyone else already said it but jay’s verse goes perfect with the song. Please look at the explanations in the comments and listen again if u have time. I was hoping you really liked that one lol

Michael

I hope you have a better day🙏🏾, I hope they brought you a lil joy today I'm so excited for you to watch Black is King Visual album on Disney can't wait to see your reaction

T

This why you gotta do a lyrical deep dive. In Black Effect Jay said “Extra magazine, hopped on a jet with my Ebony chick. Blacker than the Essence fest” …Jet, Ebony and Essence were all popular black magazines in the 90s. Even “I like purple and Purple Rain, tryna put red and blue together, bitch that’s on gang” red = bloods, blue = crips, red+blue = purple!! There’s so many black historical references you should look into: freedom riders, Sarah Baartmen, Chiltin Circuit (Easter egg? 🧐)

T

Idk LoveHappy might be their best song!

T

Omg the YT comments on this vid PMO smh. Patreon hive would never 😅

brieva627

Jay-Z is always talking about the song. He uses a lot of metaphor, euphemism, and double or triple entendres. You’re better off reading the lyrics as you listen so you can fully appreciate his lyricism and lyrical gymnastics. He is a lyricist first and foremost. Also, don’t start at 4:44…that’s his last project; it’s like starting a book at the last chapter. Start with the documentary “Fade to Black”, then follow his discography, with other select mini-interviews etc. peppered in. You’ll see the parallel journey with Beyonce clearly.

Orlando

Perfect synopsis…yeah, there’s a lot of Carter lore and inside intel that Luke wouldn’t have a clue about.

Tiesha W

I think you should review some of Jay Z interviews

Orlando

Luke, as we’ve said, this isn’t a surface-level album—it’s layered with Easter eggs and decades of Carter lore. On “Friends,” Jay infamously shouts out the people in his inner circle—the ones who’ve truly stood the test of time. It’s also worth noting this was around the period when the rift between Jay and Kanye began. At the time, Kanye was married to Kim K and publicly called Jay and Bey out for not attending the wedding. But they were navigating serious marital issues, and a genuine friend would’ve understood that Jay’s priority was repairing his relationship with his wife. So yes, understanding Jay often requires a bit of inside context—he speaks in metaphor, in code. In fact, his memoir Decoded does a brilliant job of unpacking his lyrics and revealing the multiple layers and nuances behind them. But don’t worry—the Hive will absolutely help fill in the gaps, and it’ll all start to click with time. Keep listening. Once you fully tap into Jay’s gift, I wouldn’t be surprised if you find yourself becoming a fan too. Cheers!

Any

black is king go with the lion king movie that Beyonce and Blue Ivy dub as Nala and Kiara. DO THE ALBUM VERSION WITH THE INTERLUDES (black cover) so you keep that energy while listening to the songs. Thank uuuu 💖💖💖💖

dabrat 730

You definitely got this album wrong, especially Jay's part. Friends is about his friends, whom he grew up with. Guess what? He took them on his journey with him, put them in positions where they all became millionaires. Bey got friends from childhood, too. Jay is on topic; you're not getting it.

Teetee Scott

Bey had some flashbacks in that studio recording love happy I love her so bad 🤣🤣🤣🤣

Ced

This is the best Beyoncé journey I’ve ever watched. I enjoy your videos so much! Thank you .

Teriagotemhookd

Oh I'm scared to go look. Some of the hive really don't like Jay still smh

T

Just more of ppl rushing the process and calling this reaction boring!

Victor Hugo Okamoto Husch

The nexts albuns the first listening may be strange, but I'm sure it will grow on you! RENAISSANCE is today my fav! IT'S toooo goood! And I am Yonce's fan since Destiny Fulfilled!

SK_2007

Luke, I love your Beyoncé journey. I’ve been following it from day one and enjoy every episode with your genuine reactions. Get ready for Beyoncé to keep doing new things and for you to find yourself wondering – how does she do that? I’d definitely love to see a Jay-Z journey too :) So excited for the Black is King Movie!!!! Stay strong and keep your chin up 🍀 Greetings from Germany

Dana (Dah-Nah)

Jay: *lists all his friends and how close they are* your interpretation: "he talks about things that have nothing to do with the song" fjkdsf what??

Megan

Currently watching… paused at 25:12 (the reaction to “Friends”). I’m literally shaking my head and repeating, “No, you’re missing it!” There is nothing surface level about this project. I get it going over your head as you don’t know Jay Z’s story, history, discography. I definitely wanted you to watch 4:44 first, but we’re here now, lol. Sigh. I won’t be too hard on you, you didn’t know. If you do a Jay-Z journey, don’t start with 4:44. Just like Beyhive suggested you listen to her progression over time, I’d suggest the same for him. Even if it is just a few songs from each of his previous albums. His skill has always been top tier, but his lyric content changed and POV changed. “Big Pimpin’” Jay Z isn’t the same man as “Excuse Me Miss” Jay Z. Listening to previous iterations of him inform you on how we even got to Lemonade and 4:44. It’s been 30 years since his first album dropped, so the maturation is appreciated when knowing the whole story. For older songs, I personally suggest “Song Cry” (pre-Beyoncé, but applicable to her as you saw on the OTR tour) and “Lost Ones” (from the beginning of their dating years when them being a couple was still a “rumor”, but he’s obviously talking about her). Ok, let me finish the rest of your video. Lol.

Rocky

😂

My’kel J

713 is a reference to Houston’s area code like our phone numbers here (713) 909-9090…. 6:22 it is literal lol he jumped off the boat and hit his head 😂🤣😂 he references it a few times basically as that’s when he lost his mind and started f’n up lol

My’kel J

Yea I wouldn’t start off with 4:44 .. his main songs from each album up to 4:44 is probably the best path so you can gather him as an artist & the evolution .. and it’ll be fast

My’kel J

Friends is probably the deepest song on the album in context .. the lyrics read simple but it’s extremely layered .. lol 😂 (Jay z verse don’t match the song) in his verse he’s listing his closest real friends and why theyve remained friends while simultaneously referencing why he’s no longer friends with people he’s not friends with anymore (you’re not an idiot, you just don’t know the Carter lore, and JayZs world play & storytelling is extremely unique .. so you’re not going to catch everything since you don’t know him like that but at this point you know bey so you understand her a lot better

My’kel J

Stfu !! When tf they put it there it wasn’t there when the album first came out

My’kel J

And that album is about Beyoncé so the discussion was warranted for contextual purposes .. clearly there are things in this album that Luke would’ve gotten the reference to have he’d heard the 4:44 album that is included and integral to the lemonade trilogy .. it’s no a trilogy if it’s just lemonade and everything is love … but hey we here and that time has passed so we only just continue forward with the journey and he can get to 4:44 when he gets to 4:44

My’kel J

Oooohhh they slick it’s not on the actual album as a bonus track .. it’s separate … 😂🤣🤣

jj 💜

I want a 4:44 reaction realll bad, i’m not a major Hov fan but i think it’s such a great album for Luke to react to if he ever were to do just one Jay album. I do think with Friends everything did tie in but you have to know a basis of Jay’s friend group and how they have been his friends for decades to catch all the names etc. or other lore like the fall out with Kanye re not going to his wedding. Jay lyrics are very layered, even real die hard fans come to realize things years later because he is truly soooo complex with his wordplay and entendres

Megan

Ok, just finished. A few things: 1) I hope that you’re feeling okay, and that the situation that has you down gets resolved soon. 2) I definitely was holding my breath while listening to your take on “Black Effect” after hearing your comments of “Friends,” but overall that was a nice take. The reverence was appreciated. That song was laced with Black American culture references, on top of The Carter’s lore that’s baked into every song. Even on the “surface”, them saying “I’m good on any MLK Boulevard” is meaningful because pretty much every major city in America has an MLK Blvd. (some/most have a Malcom X Blvd as well). Regardless of the city, those streets are “somehow”(🙄) placed in majority Black, low-income neighborhoods. They are saying they are safe amongst Black Americans in any city, regardless of their flexing or status, because they represent Black American culture loud and proud. (The reality of this in 2026 is a bit of different than when it came out in 2018/19, especially as they’re now both billionaires and Americans are struggling, and social media is a cesspool. But it still holds true as a general sentiment.) Also, the Black Effect speaks to how we (Black Americans) can make something out of nothing and the whole world wants it. From soul food to music to fashion to slang. Our culture is arguably (and I believe statically) America’s largest export… that we receive no return on or compensation for. “They want our rhythm, but not our blues.” 3) There are a lot of references in all of these songs. Personal, cultural, etc. Even in the artwork they are in front of in the Apeshit video. All of this is intentional. 4) You hit the nail on the head with saying Lemonade/4:44/EIL is a trilogy unto itself and this is its closing chapter. After OTRII (which they were on tour for when they released this out of nowhere), there are very few songs from Lemonade that Beyoncé even performs now that I think about it. Jay Z has 2 shows in NY this summer commemorating his 30th anniversary since releasing “Reasonable Doubt” and 25th anniversary since “The Blueprint”. I highly doubt he will do more than a few songs from 4:44 or this album. I believe they put the projects out, toured with them, and left it alone to continue on being LoveHappy. 🙂 5) I do hope you take in all of the feedback on Patreon and listen again alone (while reading lyrics, stopping to Google references). 6) Some Black female rappers named Beyonce as the best or their favorite rapper, long before this album came out! She’s been doing this! Can’t wait for your “Black is King” watch!

Zari

Great reaction as always! Jay is an extremely layered rapper who is known to use double and even triple entendres. I would highly recommend having lyrics ready to reference. I know you don’t usually look at lyrics, but I think it would help you catch things. If you use the website Genius you can even click the lyrics for a breakdown of the meaning, which could help you with some of the cultural things you don’t know about! I’m so excited for Black is King! I think it’s the most gorgeous visual media I’ve ever seen and is so underrated!

Senika Witherspoon

I would highly suggest always having the lyrics up as you listen to the Beyoncé and Jay-Z lyrics moving forward. I think it would help you truly understand and appreciate the songs even more because they’re both known for their lyrics being way more than surface level. Especially Jay-Z - he’s a true wordsmith. I would recommend using Genius lyrics since it also gives you info of the context of the lyrics as well. Love watching your Beyoncé journey, I’ve been tuned in since the first one!❤️ I see a lot of other people have already said what else I was thinking about Black is King. The other thing I’ll say is, I would recommend not going into the future reactions COMPLETELY blind. I’m looking forward to BIK but please make sure you look point of it and what it represents. How she tied in the Simba from the lion king movie to the journey of a young black boy. For this project and the future ones, having the genius lyrics up and doing a quick search of what they tried to convey with the project will make it more enjoyable and make more sense as you listen. Even the OG Beyhive gets the tea first so we fully understand what she’s thinking or we might be lost LOL.

Senè

I definitely give you grace on Jay z b/c you do need to know history, word play, double/triple entendre, his friends/lifestyle both old and new. Friends is a really deep song ... i think you'll need to start at the beginning with Jay z .. you can't start with 444 the more i think about it. If you don't want to do full albums you can have us vote on which songs from each one of his albums.. and then definitely some concerts (like glastonbury, b side ). I do suggest you do lyric genius for jayz .. that's the over the shoulder you need at least for hiim

Tvo Sndvl

713 was literally the beggining of Bey and Jay relationship

Tvo Sndvl

24:59 got mad at you

Senè

you should react to the citizens concert - OTRII before moving on to black is king.

Tvo Sndvl

51:54 whasaaaat this is the conclusion of a trilogy, definitively not surface

Tvo Sndvl

Btw I do love you man… hope everything is okey… and I literally want to talk to you about this album… and also OTR II a.k.a. The first time I san Bey live… I really apreciatte you and your channel… I don’t feel alone anymore because of you… Thank you

keyalla barton

You have to do OTR II before you continue!

Jie

No! Black is king. He can do that after cowboy carter

Jie

Black is king next!! Yay!!!

keyalla barton

No! If we’re going based on order it should be next!

Shaila Hollins

713 is a Houston are code. Jay's verse on 713 is him telling the story of how him and Bey met and started dating. He said he was a player and never really caught feelings but with her that changed. He said he brought his friend on their first date to play it cool but that was his first foolish mistake. **** With Friends the media and the GP had been saying for years that they had no real friends. Part of the hating…so they made a song shouting out and celebrating all their red close friends. Jay is naming all of his closest friends that have been with him since he was selling drugs in NY as a kid. He talked about how shallow most peoples friends are but with him and his crew their relationship is deeper than all the materialistic stuff. He says that all his friends live better than rappers because they look out for and take care of each other. The t-shirt thing is a black culture reference and a little of what you said. When someone dies it's custom to have t-shirts made for the funeral or celebration of life. He's saying y'all put these celebs on t-shirts celebrating their life or calling for their freedom (from prison) but you'll never meet them. Meanwhile those are the people he calls friends. **** Heard About Us is them flexing and saying you know who we are. You know how we role. watch your step and mouth when you're in our presence. Put some respect on our name. The "If you don't know now you know" is a line from an infamous Biggie song who was also a NY rapper. **** Black Effect is about the impact black culture has on the world. MLK Blvd (road, place, ect.) are typically more dangerous, poverty stricken, violent areas. But if you’re from there or are widely respected in that area you will always be safe. So because they are so respected and he has street credit, they can go anywhere they please. Bey mentioning Sarah Bartman was her referencing a black woman who was heavy set and had fuller body parts was put into a human zoo where she was put on display (while living) for people to come to see her naked body. It’s EXTREMELY culturally layered. So much so its things that we know to be black culture but couldn’t really explain it to you. Also, its wildly known that way way way back when scientists started discovering Egypt, they saw the carvings and statues with obviously black features like our noses and to prevent anyone from knowing that we also existed there they shot the noses off the statues. That’s why Bey says “ I will never let you shoot the nose off my pharoah” meaning she’ll never let anyone try to erase her black mans existence, blackness or identity. **** Love Happy. Jay saying “I let my wife write the will, I pray my children outlive me” is him saying I trust my wife so completely I let her write my will and put whatever she wants. Gave her full control because im so in love with her and our family. With a will being about legacy and inheritance, he’s praying that his kids live long beyond him and benefit from the will/legacy he left for them. This album is DEEPLY DEEPLY cultural. From the intense significance of the cover to the track names, lyrical content, imagery, etc. this album is loudly unapologetically BLACK! Im so glad you got to listen and experience this masterpiece!

Tyger🐝

Hello, I have this link you can use so we can watch Black Is King unedited and without having to worry about copyrights. I promise it's a legitimate site with all of Beyoncé content. The website is BADASSYONCE dot com. I didn't use the " dot com" correctly... trying to protect your page. I hope you'll check it out, I believe it will bring you joy and put a huge smile on your face with all of the free and available Beyoncé content. Looking forward to continuing this wild and very interesting journey with you 😊

Анастасия Кирилюк

Also there is one apeshit performance at global citizen festival that is worth reacting. Basically only good quality performance if anything from this album ever 🩷

Mada Hanjahanja

Ding ding ding!!! From here out, it will be a less confusing experience if you read up on the albums before you get into them. Trust me it will make it an even more enjoyable experience

Jay Costa

Highly recommend listening to THE GIFT album before watching Black Is King. As it is the same thing with the lemonade album, a lot of the songs are cut shorter in the visual!

Amanda

I second this website--it makes getting high quality copies of this content much easier!

Cynthia Fenderson

Everything tied in. All the people he named are his close friends.

Noahkeahi

I love your spirit sir, but Jay-Z’s entire verse on Friends was literally about his closest friend, especially his best friend! That’s why he said he’ll take care of his kids if something were to happen to him. You should have the lyrics visible when it comes to the legend Jay-Z is. So many things go over people’s heads haha

Vicky Smith

Please do the Global citizen live next 🤞🏻It's not very long, There is both jay and bey + Ed Sheeran + she's singing ave Maria, I believe you liked that song 🤗

HKAMILAH

I hope you feel better soon and that the copyright issues are resolved. Can we have more frequent Beyoncé content please

Ire Zay

You'll get through this, Luke! Sending you lots of positive vibes. 🐝

Ire Zay

Yep, Bey always helps us on dark moments

Ire Zay

These kinds of albums are good to read the lyrics on Genius, it gives you the whole back story

Liv H

Ditto to those saying you need to listen to THE GIFT and watch Black is King next! But mannnn I can’t wait for you to react to Renaissance!!

JB

Miranda Cook

Yeaaaah… if you go on a Jay Z journey you should definitely have Genius pulled up. His verses can come off simple but actually be extremely complex with double and triple entendres. His Friends verse is all about the depth of his friendships. He names off all his lifelong friends, how they started out together borrowing each other’s clothes, hyping each other up. Went through hard times “Ty momma die I was there, my nephew die he was there” To now how they brought each other up and how he takes care of them “they living like rappers and they don’t even have deals” The tshirt thing. The previous lines were “When I say, "Free the dogs," I free 'em That's how Meek got his freedom Y'all put n*ggas on a t-shirt It hurts you ain't never meet 'em” Meek Mill is rapper and friend of JayZ signed to his label, he was fighting a court case. Jayz paid for his legal defense team and wrote and an article in the New York Times bringing forward the injustice of what was happening in the case. Meek Mill credited JayZ financial support with helping him get out of prison. When people go to jail friends, and in the case of famous people fans, wear tshirts to show their support for their freedom. Jayz is shouting out people who show their support when they may never even meet the person they are trying to free. Jayz and Meek formed a justice reform organization when meek got out of jail. “I ain’t going to nobody nothin if my and my wife beefin, I don’t care if the house on fire, I’m dying right there I ain’t leaving, Ty-ty take care of my kids after he done grieving, if you don’t understand that, we ain’t meant to be friends” In reference to the collapse of Jay and Kanye’s friendship. Kanye was getting married to Kim at the same time that Jay and Beyonce were going through their marital problems and Jay stayed to work it out with Bey instead of go to the wedding and Kanye got really mad about it publicly. Jay is saying when it comes down to it, his wife is his priority, and his friends have to understand that, and his real friends like Ty-Ty will support him in fighting for his marriage, those who don’t “we ain’t meant to be friends”

Erwin 𐚁

is Black is King today or was there something else he was going to do before So excited!!!

pen

i keep on refreshing 🤣

T

I have a problem…can’t even focus on work! 😅

Teetee Scott

Here to see if black is king was today 😩😩😩😩

T

He uploaded to YT but it’s blurred 😩😩

Teetee Scott

Oh nooo I wonder when it will be on Patreon 😩😩😩😩

Audrey Gianelli

Hi😃 don’t know if it’s on your list but they made a ON THE RUN TOUR part 2, where songs of this album are on the new set list, and see Beyoncé rapping. That’s a great concert. And they are super cute online videos of her online because she struggles with the flow of the rap and when she success to do it, she just jump so happy and Jay are full smile. They are so cute.

T

Hang tight for a few hours 😉

Teriagotemhookd

I do not want to watch Black is King on YT lol I shall wait lol

T

Right!! “Find your way” blurred is unnatural!

pen

Waiting it to be posted here before watching too. I need to see everything lol

StickyKeys

I was wondering what was happening! C'mon, Luke, we want first dibs! 😂

T

“Somebody getting fired…hey hey”

Maurice

The hook of “713” sounds so familiar because it’s an interpolation of Dr. Dre’s “Still D.R.E.”

Teetee Scott

Oh thank God I can’t go back to watching it blurred on YouTube 🤣🤣🤣🤣

My’kel J

Unfortunately there’s no official release of that show so it won’t be on the list . . I know I know I hate it too cuz that was my first show so it’d be great to see it again .. but not via compilation of fancams lol

My’kel J

In love happy that call back to friends you mentioned .. I’m sure you’ve already read that it was a reference to Kanye and his friendship ending .. but it was also more than Kanye jay basically got rid of all his negative influences .. and his two main negative influences were Kanye & Diddy .. and when saving his marriage he previously was already on his way out of the diddy friendship .. which THANK GOD !! .. but yea also Kanye both of them had a hand in jays unfaithfulness.. and when it was time to hunker down and make a choice they weren’t the most supportive friends as they just weren’t trust worthy dudes and Jay finally saw that ..

T

😂😂😂 we gone get Act iii before the Black is King upload 🤣🤣

T

😂😂😂 we gone get Act iii before the Black is King upload 🤣🤣

My’kel J

Luke got me feelin like a crack head im gttn mad my shxt ain’t here yet lol

On Friends - Jay Z is naming all of the close friends in his circle. If you do a deep dive into his catalog, certain names will be repeatedly said - TyTy is his best friend and like brother to him. They’ve been friends since they were kids. “TyTy will take care of my kids” “TyTy’s at my house more than I be there, more than Bey’s there” as in if anything ever happens to him, he trusts his best friend TyTy to help raise his kids and always look out for them. The part about “I ain’t going to nobody’s nothing if me and my wife beefing” is referencing the reason Jay Z and Beyoncé didn’t attend Kanye West’s wedding to Kim K. That was the beginning of the end of the friendship between Jay Z and Beyoncé. Around that time, Kanye was sending shots to Jay because he said he wasn’t a real bro/friend because he didn’t attend the wedding.

Sorry. I saw a typo — I meant to say that was the beginning of the end Kanye’s friendship with Jay Z and Beyoncé.

I can’t believe you said Jay’s verse was random and nothing about friends lol. Maybe you need another listen

Steven Clemons

*quick context* In the states MLK boulevard is always the name of the main street in every tough neighborhood. (Isn't that interesting 😒) so, essentially, Jay is safe in any dangerous place because he comes from dangerous places. Also, you're missing all of the American references (naturally) which give the songs the appropriate depth lol. Not to worry, you're still doing great! 👍🏾

My’kel J

I’m glad somebody pointed that out I can’t believe I forgot to lol

Wait - please pause! We skipping over some major items…and rushing! We need to take a step back… - Mrs. Cater Tour (album 4) - BeyGood Foundation (if you want to see him cry) lol - Live at Revel - ^^^ - all of this came before Lemonade and Black is King - Formation Tour Keep in mind yall - Beyonce only did things few and far between once we get to Lemonade. He will be back at the Cowboy Carter by the end of the month or early May.
