YESSSSSS FERN!!!! DROP A NUKE, THAT IS THE MAGE WAY🗣🔥🔥🔥

Ray H

When Fern said, “Because that’s what Ms. Frieren would do.” I lost it and cried my eyes out 😂 She’s Fern’s Himmel 😭😭😭

crazizzle85

I've heard so many great things about the Golden land arc. That it's the best in this series. And this is why s2 is 10 episodes. Any longer and they're starting a new arc .

dylan pennington

I'm confused. I thought all anime reactions have stopped. Or is patreon still going?

falugger1

he stopped doing reactions on twitch, so the videos where he binges 5+ episodes have stopped

Asho Bujdosh

you know Luke. I've seen hundreds if not a thousand animes in my 20 years of active anime watching (am 37 yo). And frieren is the only one that makes me tear up nearly every episode. For me this is among the greats, not only in anime but Cinema. It is on par with the Lord of the Rings easily. All the love. Probably Ragnarök Online is the only other anime that pulls consistently on my heart strings, maybe because I played the game and love the story, this is also where I got my nickname from. Its really old anime, if u got the chance, watch it. Or Pandora hearts, if u are into Alice in wonderland. Sadly it got canceled mid season 1. I even own a music box replica of that show.^^

Angel90

Hi :D you should check "SIX the muscial" <3 I’m sure you would love it

DecoyBlackMage

And this is a good time for you to start reading the manga, though you can naturally not go past the upcoming anime arc and save that.

Deiondre0

6:02 Fern loves pancakes. Whenever they go out to eat something sweet, she gets pancakes

Can't say I know why this anime is so emotionally powerful, but I may try. 1/ Himmel. 2/ The story takes place in a world under reconstruction, where people are free from a long time fear and are in a positive mindset. That's why "bad" people are very rare in this anime, which is a bit destabilizing. 3/ For that reason, it seems to be very optimistic, presenting humankind as positive, when classic shonens have to expose bad, naughty, evil antagonists. Only demons are bad AND manipulative and can't be reasoned with, and are exposed as monsters, no equal race with humans, elves and dwarves. They are smart beasts, so are a natural danger, not a humanoid one, Frieren and her crews just have to kill in on sight, no scruples, no moral dilemma. 4/ Himmel. 5/ The characters may have regrets, but they always find the positive way. I don't remember any character having an unsurpassable bad emotion. There is always a "go on". 6/ Did I mention Himmel ? 7/ Trust. Characters trust others. They may be suspicious dometimes, but the biggest part are trustworthy (except Ubel) and never give a hint for doubting on it (except Ubel XD), which is very comforting for the viewer. And very few of them are greedy, they do what their heart tells them, often for others (a wife's grave, a land to protect, a world to explore, a mentor to make proud, a dead Himmel...) 8/ Himmel ! Himmel ! My God, Himmel ! The best human, the true hero no matter what a stupid sword may tell. He's the light of the show, the light for Frieren, for Heiter, for Eisen, for Humankind. And his friends extend his influence threw their acts, threw Fern, threw Stark.

This anime is just too wholesome and the idea of Himmel being gone, makes this anime very melancholic.

Jan Negrey

Denken? Denken is just going to visit his wife's grave...And no one will dare to fucking stop him.

lol I had the same thought about the bridge taking so long, but once they showed the montage of the whole process it did kinda make sense! Had to go out and buy a load of lumber, haul it back, and turn it into boards all by himself before even putting anything into the actual construction! And I think Frieren was smiling during the fight with the birds due to how fast Stark was! You saw her raise her staff to cast a spell, but he beat her to the punch and protected her. She’s proud ^_^ Also, I know it’s a massive long shot, but with Frieren ending for the year I can’t think of a better show to replace it than the new anime adaption of Witch Hat Atelier.

Nikkelz

Only affects the stream series atm. the tri-weekly slot, seasonals & the double drop saturday are all still fine. Stream will continue for the time being with other content as he explores other options.

20 seconds, huh? I'll take that bet. Me(in my head): Glaze any harder and it'll become a Krispy Kreme doughnut. 🍩 Luke(10+ seconds later): Anyway, I'm going to go glaze this anime on X.

mjaomjao2

To closest thing to Frieren I know is Mushishi. The setting and stuff is different but it gives of the same vibes.

IClickedOnce

That last line "Because that's what Frieren would do" broke me, she is inspiring people just like Himmel inspired her

Jan Negrey

Not buy - cut the trees yourself. You start from literally gathering materials.

Pcdruid

Maybe I should give it another try. When I first watched it it didnt really work for me.

Jan Negrey

I think you could infer this from knowledge of Season 1 and what is said in the episode. If I thought it was a spoiler, I wouldn't have written it. And this basically is what many people's reaction to this episode is. People who don't know what happens later.

Zarrowk

Don't know exactly how this Macht is strong, cause even if they called him the strongest of the sevens Sages, the only one we saw for now were... really low level so hard to compare. But his power seems gold-related, and if you look closely at that flashback from Frieren she had in episode 2 and 9, it's clearly Macht in front of her (same horns and physical) and she seemed to be holding her right arm that has turn to gold... Maybe I'm overinterpreted this, but I think we'll have again some great new story mixed with old flashbacks from this fight. It also means that Macht is one of the 2 Sages that flew in front of the party of Himmel, but if Frieren really ended with a golden arm, who forced him to flee ? Himmel ? We may be able to see a big fight from Himmel ? :) Can't wait for this season 3... I'll probably catch the manga before it !

patros36

I mean he literally became first class to visit his wife's grave.

Jan Negrey

I know. It was sort of a joke when he was compared to John Wick

patros36

I know, sorry, that should've been a reaction to Osiris' comment. Patreon can't tag people properly :/

DevDSilver

Lord of the rings story interesting, fantasy world very interesting, lore very good, but the execution of the movies was a a failure to me. If the character in the movies were done better and enjoyable to watch it could have been waay better to me at least. It is not a bad movie series but it is MASSIVELY AND I MEAN MASSIVELY OVERRATED.

Hououin Kyouma

Of course, Fern is badass; she is Frieren's student! Btw whatever Fern does, Frieren can do as well. Frieren always lets Fern do the difficult tasks as long as it is possible for Fern in order to teach her and get used to difficult situations. Can't wait for the next arc and Macht! It was more about Macht than Denken. Manga readers were losing their minds seeing the silhouette of Macht!
