This is one of my favorite OST of all time, the song playing on the rooftop scene "Kujikesou ni naru watashi wo sasaete kudasai" always have me tearing up a little. I'm glad you're liking this anime, it really was a combination of great things: a great manga to anime adaptation, A-1 pictures awesome animation, gorgeous OST, amazing direction and voice acting. It's still (after +400 animes watched) one of my top 10 favorite animes!

I could write essays about this anime as a classical violinist and playing at conservatories in my childhood, and there is so much to say about the music and animation (especially during the instrument playing). But I will bite my tongue. I love that you are reacting to this one. This is one of my top anime and very dear to me.

Fun fact about the hand animation, multiple pianists that have reacted to the anime have said that the hand animations when they play the piano is actually pretty accurate to what they would be playing with the songs that they are playing!

Yup. Kaori is a pain in the neck. I've never liked her. Also, yeah, I watched this series more than 10 years ago, so I don't remember a lot of things, but I also reckon that those were crocodile tears to manipulate him. Might be wrong, though.

I highly highly advise anyone who enjoys relaxing/classical music to give the OST a go. There's plenty 1h compilations on youtube the OST is AMAZING. truly 11/10. The best thing about this amazing show is it gets better and better and better as it goes on and one of my favorite ends to a show ever.

When Kaori says "I'm a musician after all! Just like you." I knew Kousei stood no chance. My background isn't really in music (I played violin in Junior High), but through a 1v1 board game called Go I was lucky enough to understand the pure exhilaration that comes from doing the best you can do in the skill that you know best This anime forces me to "feel" the chance to compete against people who are doing their best. That both makes my heart skip a beat and lights a fire in me and, while I understand it, it's kind of hard to put that emotion into words. It's just so sad that Kousei has such a strong mental block that prevents him from feeling like I do, and I hope he finds a way to get around it
