Yeah, season 5 is a mainly connective tissue so it is very lackluster compared to 4 and 6, the high points in the story it bridges.

Its crazy to think that aside from Shigaraki and Nomu there wasnt really a whole lot of danger. Bakugo, Todoroki, and Kirishima probably could have mopped up every last one of the small villains by themselves

You're not the only one who didn't like HxH. I enjoyed it until the Chimera Ant Arc, but after that arc, I just could never see myself watching the series again because I hated that arc so much. Despised it isn't even a strong enough word. Before that, I liked it. Could not continue after that. So don't feel bad.

All Might's real form used to be his hero form ... but remember since 5 years ago (as exlained in ep 1), his injury included removing part of his stomach. Hence his gaunt form. Season 1,2,3 are awesome, esp season 3 (has some of the best episodes 🤩 i cried here) They say it tapers off at Season 4 and 5, but I love the last episodes of season 4 and a lot of episodes in season 5. But Season 6,7,8 is Peak!

Yeah but also not everyone enjoys the school scenes . The festival and so on . Its feels like padding . And for some other seasons the quality took a hit and wasn't on par with the rest

Personally I like all of it, even s5 and the festival arc in s4. It all has a point and everything has a reason no matter how "slow" it seems. It's critical for character and relationship building, and I like the breather it gives when they slow down for a while and just let the kids be kids for a while before going into literal war lol.

I love this episode. It reminds me of AoT, where Shadis passes over some of the recruits because they've already experienced the real world. Class1A will just be different than the rest because of it.

Yes and no. The characters do come up in the main show and have seemingly met in the movie settings. The power dynamics are less cannon in my opinion, but I would say that the movies add to the series in pretty major ways and should not be skipped.

season 2 has been the fan favorite for ages now, but in my opinion this last stretch of seasons 6-8 has been easily my favorite, and has hugely brought my opinion of the show up from thinking it's mediocre and a nothing burger to completely falling in love with it

Without them, stories don't work. I find a lot of anime fans tend to rate parts of the story because of the seasonal structure rather than seeing the story as a whole despite the seasonal structure.

Ah the whip teacher yeah… I think they censored it a bit in the anime ( or maybe it was just the fact it is colored) bc in the manga it seems like her clothes are skin colored instead of white

Only took you until end of Season 1 to agree Tsu is best girl. You are truly an enlightened one Luke. Season 2 I think you'll particularly enjoy, given some of your comments in earlier episodes about where you thought things were going at the time and how excited you were.

To be honest, I'm not a huge fan of where they took the show in the last couple seasons. It's still great storytelling, its just not for me as much as the earlier seasons are. I really love the arcs that focus on their class dynamics and school life more than I do the ones that focus on their interactions with the villains.

That isn't why Deku's arm was ok, though. They explicitly say he subconsciously controlled the power of One for All to be nonlethal (and nondamaging to Deku) because it was directed at a living being and Deku isn't a murderer.

People say Season 2 is their favorite? Really? Not Season 3? I'm actually shocked. But yeah people rag on MHA for the same reason as Demon Slayer, its a basic Good Guys vs Bad Guys plot. Which is not to say that's a bad thing. Just that some people want more. Also like any fandom the more 'hardcore' fandom for MHA tends to give people a bad perception of the show.

i’d say critiques for some people of MHA usually boil down to, either they aren’t fond of how emotional Deku is in the early period of the show, or they don’t like how much “school” stuff there is. In Naruto, the only school stuff is the Chuunin Exams, while in this like we’ve already seen them choosing a class rep which brings down the excitement for some people and increases the boredom. I love the show but that’s what Id guess are complaints.

Kirishima probably doesn't have the stamina for that just yet, they JUST started school. Definitely agree Bakugo and Todoroki could have though, as long as everyone else stayed out of the way. The biggest challenge would probably have been dealing with hostage situations like Momo, Jiro, and Kaminari were in.

MHA starts off really strong and hype and the production is amazing (animation, music, and implementation), but it does gradually become more boring little by little down the line to the point where some arcs feel like filler even though they are not. That and the childish tone it has despite being serious, is probably why some people don't like. Anyways you'll love season 2 for obvious reasons that you'll find out

I stand by what I said - the entire season 4 is not great. The first half felt pointless and the 2nd half was decent, but not gripping. The entire season failed to make me connect with any of the new the characters or feel the stakes

All might is a passionate person, but not a rational one. Since Deku could uncover his secrets so easily, the number of people he claims know his secrets is highly questionable. He even forgot to tell deku not to talk to others leading to kachan somehow knowing the secret.

i am rly so happy about how much you you've been enjoying my hero. it is by far my favourite series ever not just from anime. btw. *not a spoiler->* you said that it is suspicious that tsukauchi showed up at the crime scene but you have to remember he is a police chief so it makes sense that he would show up to such a major event (and this is not me saying that tsukauchi told the league about all might or not. i just wanna say that him showing up doesn't mean much imo)

One thing to keep in mind with the 5 punches vs 300 punches statement, is kind of misleading, since you have to remember current All Might already used up his 3 hours of activity and said he only had about a minute of strength left. So it took him 300 punches while utterly exhausted and forcing himself to act. I don't know how many punches it would have taken if he wasn't exhausted, but I think the gap would be significantly smaller. Similar to how you can punch harder or lift more weight at full energy vs trying it after a full day of demanding work and are dead on your feet.

Glad that you're enjoying this Luke! Personally, Season 2 is a one of the weaker seasons for me, not because its bad or anything, I just like the later seasons more. Also, I finished the manga over the weekend. Ended up binge reading the last 80-some chapters in 5 hours ending at 4 in the morning. Really excited to finish the anime now, currently at the beginning of Season 6. P.S. Please consider watching Fairy Tail when you finish My Hero.

Everyone in the faculty knows that All Might is getting weaker. When he mentioned earlier in the season that only so many people knew his secret (I think he said 5 or 6?) he was refearing that One for All was a quirk that could be passed down. More people than that know that he is injured.

I feel like that bit about the principal being ok with the police searching is a showing of how the society is. Heroes are obviously number 1 so some hero organizations might just tell the police they can't investigate, and there's not enough power in the police to dispute that.

The school grounds are absolutely massive. The school has several training areas the size of a city, as you saw, and they had to take a bus just to get to this current training spot. You saw for yourself how huge this area alone is—you even compared it to your own theme park. The campus is just gigantic. Even though that Nomu was blasted far away, it still landed within the school grounds in the forest. Yeah, the school is truly enormous

This has been the case for years so sadly I'm sure its just part of his editing process. I'd imagine he switches to the full facecam whenever theres no sound from the video without checking every point to see if he was looking at something. Makes for easier editing but always causes issues like this.

Yup...Luke forgot Denki "short circuits" when he uses too much electricity Quirks are physical abilities, you have to stop thinking "abilities" are just things you can do like a magical ability and use MP without any repercussions. The body cannot magically withstand a huge force like electricity unless you train for it. These are kids are still amateurs and unskilled, and untrained. Just like Deku having side effects of using his quirk, so does everyone else when they use it offensively or overstrain themselves. For someone like Momo, if she overuses her Lipids for her Creation ability, her body will be dangerously low on lipid fats, which can affect one's metabolism and ability to deal with cold environments.

For spoiler reasons I won't say the names of the two that were speaking to Tomura after he escaped, but "Master" is voiced by Ootsuka Akio (Rider in Fate Zero, Shunsui in Bleach, Ekubo in Mob Psycho, Wamuu in Jojo, Blackbeard in One Piece, Uvogin in Hunter x Hunter) and the one who said he created the Nomu together with Master is Minoru Inaba, who doesn't really have any big roles)

Important Distinction: There are those that know about his "true Form" and there are those that know about One For All being able to be passed on. The Latter was the specific List of 4 People he mentioned. The Policeman was not necessarily one of those, he was just shown to know about All Might being skinny.
