So excited for you to see the next episode — which is also absolutely *incredible* in dub. I understand this might be a hefty ask, but I genuinely put the dub so high above the sub (which is incredibly rare for an anime where more often than not a dub is lacking) that I truly recommend watching it in dub. Of course this is simply an ask, but I would love for you to see the dub at least once. But either way, I will await excitedly :)

You can't blame people for treating Bakugo that way with the personality/energy he gives off. He really brings it upon himself with how he conducts himself. Uraraka's fight against Bakugo always stuck with me for some reason.

that's really simplifying it and not that accurate. just think of Arigato for example. it's not like it's pronounced as Aligato at all. in Japanese it's more of a hybrid sound, where the sound is somewhere inbetween the R and L

Nope. It's considered an 'r' sound, but it's more or less half way between r and l, with a bit extra. Try saying ra with the tongue positioning on la. That's more or less it, but really sharp. Some people say that it sounds more like da than ra or la, but it's not a hard da sound either. It's not a sound that exists in English.

Well its your opinion its wrong tho but pretty sure he always watches subs since he's used to watching other foreign media with subs the dub for this is fine but there's several voices that are just better in the original also not really a fan of dub all might definitely feel he phones it in at times

Honestly, I would like to see how Bakugo would actually be affected by Uraraka's Quirk. On one hand, he's kind of a natural counter because he has the ability to propel himself through the air, but on the other, being weightless would throw off all of his internal calculations. Even when he's on the ground, he would have to shoot an explosion behind him when attacking from the front to counterbalance it. Otherwise, he would just go flying backwards.

He's nice to the people he respects (Uraraka, Kirishima, few others maybe (Todoroki at some point?)) but he's an absolute ASSHOLE to deku for 90% of the series and bakugo did start referring to some classmates by their names rather than their nicknames! next episode is my absolute favorite!! hard support for izuku and shoto are my favorite characters from the show overall!!

The Bakugo/Uraraka fight is one of the highlights of the tournament. It's not just that everyone was being unfair to Bakugo by booing and talking smack about him; that was also extreme disrespect to Uraraka by the audience. Good to see Eraserhead shutting them up while Bakugo gave her the respect she deserved (in his own way...)

This episode is so freaking good! I love how bakugo shows massive respect to ururaka both by using her actual name rather than a mildly insulting nickname, and his comment about her not being frail. Also, that shot of his hand being all clawed and shaky after launching the massive explosion is very important. No one else will know and he'll never tell anyone but he very nearly went over his limit and was close to completely fucking up his hand/arm. His explosions generate a huge amount of force and pushback, meaning there's a limit to the size and strength he can produce before it starts doing major damage to his body; and to stop ochaco's big move he had to go dangerously close to that limit. Hence his shift to showing her proper respect. Also to address what was said about past users of one for all, the previous users worked much more under the radar as heroes and weren't widely famous or ranked anywhere near the top. Society looked very different before all might came along and became the symbol of peace. I won't go into detail because of spoilers but his predecessors are people no one has heard of, so what you talked about with people not working out that there have been several heroes with similar powers is a non-issue. But more details about this will be revealed later on.

Midnight definitely has some weird tastes, but I'm pretty sure in this case she's just in love with the concept of "Seishun" or the ephemeral moments only experienced during youth. It's more like hyper nostalgia over watching kids growing up than excitement over the kids themselves.

It’s such a small thing but what made me really start loving Bakugo is that he called uraraka by her real name showing that he really acknowledged her strength since he almost never calls people by their names

How you keep calling them Kacchan and Deku, which is their nicknames, and the rest are Todoroki, Uraraka & co😅 - maybe it’s too late to get used to calling him Bakugo — it’s only Deku that calls him „Kacchan“ (pronounce „Cut-tchann“), and since it’s such a „cute nickname“ which originated presumably from their kindergarten era, it might actually embarrass Bakugo😆

Deku's plan was right for the stage she was in. She was overexerting herself trying to come up with a plan that drained her power, and she paid the cost. If she held the initiative she had at the start, and instead send the debree piece by piece, Bakugo would create the smokescreen denser and drained his quirk faster than her. That's the limitation of grounded quirk. Bakugo is using sweat. Eventually he would be drained like a raisin. On the other hand she doesn't have that concern. The only concern for her is if she takes too much at once. That's about all that we know, at least rn.

This explanation to your theory should be free of spoilers using everthing you already know about it. You have to consider that when Deku before got the power his body wasn't ready to even use it a little bit without doing a lot of training, and even after that he still breaks his arms with just a single use. So it's a good idea, but unless you pass it to someone like the Hardening kid, they're unlikely to be able to use it without destroying themselves. Also, it seemingly gets stronger with use and when it gets passed down it's better than it was before, so whoever Deku could pass it to would get an even stronger version (depending on how much Deku has improved it) so it would be even more dangerous for a new person.

This is quietly one of my favorite episodes of this entire anime. It can't really compete with some of the big drama moments or big action moments in later seasons, but this is just such a wonderfully written episode for both Bakugo and Uraraka.

Honestly I hated Bakugo. He was a bully and almost evil. Thinking he was the best thing ever. But the show does do a good job showing he's just a kid who didn't get the discipline he needed. And he's getting better. And no one can deny his amazing drive towards his goal. I'm still not a fan, but I can't help but root for him.

Nah it's closer to a rolled R than an hard one. But even then, it's not really that as well, more of an in between of R and L. Like you're starting with an R but cut it to go for an L ? That's how I perceive it after having a japanese course and watching anime for 20+ years at least

Man, this episode made me cry. Those final moments of the battle between Uraraka and Bakugo, fighting so hard even when she could hardly move... 😭 Also, you talked about how they were looking down on Bakugo, but in a way, they were also looking down on Uraraka. Calling her a 'frail little girl', like she needs other people to protect her. In those moments Bakugo was one of the few people treating her as equal. An easy way to make her name easier to remember/pronounce is to split it in two. Ura-raka.

What is easily overlooked here is that Bakugo called Uraraka by her name after the major attack. Aside from Deku—and technically, Deku doesn't count because it's a derogatory nickname—he hasn't called anyone by their name, with the sole exception of Kirishima, who helped him beat up the villains. Of course, this could just be an anime-only detail or an error; but if it isn't, the fact that he calls her by her name speaks volumes about the massive respect he has for her.
