Second.

Stain already explained his motivations the first time we saw him properly. A lot of the time with this show, it really feels like you're focusing on what the characters are doing in the moment rather than the things that are being said. Love the content regardless, but there's just a lot of info that has been said that you've seemingly not picked up on.

Krawbs

Stain's design is a nod to the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles comic. Stain's complete backstory/origin is only in the MHA: Vigilantes prequel.

Lasse Mondrup

The Hero Killer idolizes All Might, while Shigaraki detests All Might and the society that looks up to him. They both want to change society, but the change they seek is very different.

Vertiguous

Basically, Shigaraki and Stain agree that hero society in its current state needs to change, but disagree about what those changes should entail.

TOMfoolery

Luke, their goals ARE different: Stain wants to kill heros he sees as unworthy to create more pure heroes like All Might. Shigaraki wants to kill All Might to plunge hero society into despair and reform society at large into a whole different direction than Stain.

Tee Toaster

Deku's body still can't handle 100%, so he is using it at 5 % which is an amount it can handle. If he were to throw a punch at 100% his body would still break. The difference is that now he can walk, run, jump, punch etc. at 5 % without hurting himself and without any time delay.

Fahed JKR

Luke you really don't focus many stupid questions. Sorry for bad comment

Moshi

Try to remember what you watched 2 days ago challenge

Maks Lesniewski

"Why doesn't Smoochie Girl come and heal him?" Setting aside the fact that that's not her name...A broken spine?! Have you not learned anything about her Quirk? She literally said she can only help speed up the body's natural regeneration process, she can't heal what the human body can't heal on its own.

Moshi

No, deku is keeping his whole body at 5% so he can fire off 5% shots anytime. 100% would still destroy his bones and damage his muscles and ligaments.

Awsmspaceball

12:50. it's really not that hard to understand. thye both described their motivations clearly and multiple times. shigaraki just wants to destroy society and hates true heroes like all might the most. Stain on the otherhand doesn't want to destroy, but more reshape society because he thinks most heroes have become corrupt, and every hero should strive to be like All might. shigaraki: hates heroes like all might the most and want to destroy everything stain: thinks all heroes should act like all might and only wants to destroy what he deems corrupt. you see? they both want to destroy, but shigaraki wants to destroy everything that is ''good'', whilst stain wants to destroy everything that is not good enough

Moshi

I don't think this is a spoiler because if you knew Japanese you'd know right away: The Nomu are written 脳無, literally "brainless"

Joshua Vaughn

Are you gonna watch the movies as they happen in the show? I know some of them take place at weird points in the series and are technically canon.

Barack O. Llama

i do wonder how luke will watch a scene and just change it entirely in his mind lol. it genuinely takes skill to do that

Subaru130

I'm not 100% sure, but I do think it's possible to get a license to use your Quirk for non-hero work. The big thing is that it's very highly regulated just because of how dangerous Quirks can be.

AchmodinIVSWE

I thought it was Nomu (飲む) as in drink (verb) (though, I did suspect that wasn't the case)

Nate Ming

"It doesn't have to be a solo revenge, WE CAN ALL JUMP HIM TOGETHER! That's what friends are for!"

Daniel Turchan

Bro, so Shigaraki, the hand guy, his goal is to destroy All-Might, but the knife guy Stain, he is mad bc ppl call themselves hero’s but aren’t heroic and are still idolized, but he respects All-Might as one truly heroic individual, so he DOESNT want to kill All-might, their ideals of society are completely opposite but they both are villains who don’t fit the current society. Both want society changed, but their ideals are the exact opposite, one wants true justice, the other wants chaos. Also, he is trying to compete with stain, but again, he says Chaos… He’s pissed bc Stains Ideology is having an ACTUAL impact on cities he’s been to, so this is his version of a “tantrum” to compete with that.

Kanna kamui

day 20 of asking for double reactions 🥲

Hamad Panzer

I think it’s only easy to say that because we’ve already watched the series. When you hear it for the first time, you can only guess what it means, since you don’t know the exact context. Since we’ve already watched the series and know exactly what the motives are and what the context is, it’s easy to say that from our perspective. I remember looking just as puzzled the first time I heard it.

Rainet

I really enjoy the way they have the diverse internships go a variety of different ways and show a lot of the different aspects, positive and negative, of the "Hero" profession in this world.

Elias Van Astrea

Luke, rmember Uraraka's goal. She wan'ts to be a hero to be able to use her quirk to help her parents' business. Only heroes can use their quirks "freely". Of course nothing happens if Deku's mother uses her quirk at home or if Todoroki uses his left side to make pop-corn, just not in public or for big things.

Alexy Guerrero Ceja

to answer some questions to remember hero killer stain said that he wants true heroes like all might, not fake ones that only do it for greedy reasons and not to save, so he wants to break society for a better outcome, and shigaraki wants to be a villain to break society for some hate we don't know more reasons yet Stain prob thinking "if a villain that strong hits the city, more real heroes will show their true colors, and fake would die" so he could use him for some time

Alexy Guerrero Ceja

And recovery girl the school nurse only can heal small woulds, that the body itself can heal, she only makes the body faster the process (but it will still consume all the stamina, food, energy etc of your body so no more than once per day and not heavy damage, when deku damage in the sports 2 fingers she healed those, then after todoroki she only did surgery, not kissing as that may kill him), in Tensei case well he is stabbed, broke, and nerves cut down, the body cant grow a missing leg or spine, so thats it

Rainet

Yeah, he might need notes for this one. They drop a lot of lore piece by piece and its easy to lose track of when you're also focusing on giving an animated reaction, trying to keep track of what's going on with the animation, reading, and watching multiple animes at the same time.

Moshi

Yeah, it's actually noumu, they omitted the u because yes, just like Kujo Jotaro is actually Kuujou Joutarou

Rainet

As far as using your quirk to make loads of money: I think its more heavily regulated than outright forbidden. Someone like Cementoss could probably have used his quirk to do construction, for instance, but only within tightly controlled circumstances. Just reconstructing whatever he wanted however he wanted would be very illegal, just like Iida using his speed to run everywhere instead of using public transit/etc would be illegal.

Sakomi Arorim

As long as we know who Luke is talking about when he says Smoochie Girl, Then the name he is using is fine be it Smoochie Girl or Recovery Girl or Chiyo Recovery Girl works at Hero Academia and maybe helps out the hospitals near the school, But it is indeed quite unreasonable for Luke to expect Chiyo specifically to go to an other city. Especially as Chiyo is logically speaking clearly not the only person in the country that has a quirk useful for healing :P As for a broken spine those are quite heal-able by our own bodies, besides severe ones most broken spine/broken back/vertebral fractures do not even require real surgery and are healed naturally over the course of a few months with the help of wearing a back brace to stabilize the spine. That is eventually also the case for the severe broken spines that do require surgery. It is just that for those severe injuries, The rehabilitation can take a very long time depending on the damage to the spinal cord/nerves, As nerves heal even slower than bones and can take years to heal if the nerves were completely severed. But luckily most of the time the nerves tend to be either just bruised or compressed/squeezed by the broken spine bone fragments/displacement instead of fully severed, But that is already enough to cause issues like being unable to (temporarily) feel or use one's legs and such issues tend to extent the duration of the rehabilitation progress even if the actual injury to the spine has already been healed.

Katerflori

Love the reaction, cant wait for more! Those cliffhangers hurt so much but they are so good at the same time

Warren

Now deku has unlocked Full Cowling, i love that he gives this improvement a name

chakalicious

Why aren't you commenting on how Luke doesn't pay attention and how he should take Cornell notes to learn every single line from the show by heart? Join the program maan 🫪

Vinnick

Stain is a different type of character and is an interesting addition to the story for that reason. But taken in isolation? He's a fanatic. A fanatic of a person rather than a religion, but a fanatic nonetheless.

Jonah Vianello

idrk if it should have had its own name/distinction, since its literally just the same afo as when all might uses it, just massively reduced power because of his body. when all might uses afo he doesnt say its full cowling 100% or anything, thats just normal afo.

Sakomi Arorim

Deku's injuries after using his quirk at 100% are not considered small wounds, seeing as he basically shatters his limbs Recovery Girl's does indeed drain the injured person of their own stamina to heal and while she can indeed not heal a missing leg as our body would create scar tissue in that case (using Recovery Girl 's quirk in such a case would probably just speed up creating that scar tissue) Recovery Girl did use her quirk after Deku's surgery, but only to the point that he could walk, instead of a full repair. (as without her quirk Deku being able to walk the same day after breaking both legs would have been impossible) I do not understand why people think a spine injury is non-repairable though, As a spine injury is quite repairable even in our non-quirk powered world, It can take from a few months to a few years to fully heal though. The vertebrae/spine is just a group of bones after all, and the human body can naturally repair bones And while the spinal cord has limited regenerative ability as dead neurons do not heal nor does the body replace them, The nerves that connect the spinal cord's neurons to the rest of the body however can heal on their own, Even if fully severed. (rehabilitation from such severe injuries can take years though and can be quite mentally/physically taxing)

You Do Not Need To know

The reason Stain doesn't like Shigaraki is basically because he thinks Shigaraki doesn't have a good enough "reason." Stain kills out of this conviction that society has too many "fake" heroes whilst Shigaraki kills because he just wants to destroy, like a child throwing a tantrum

AinChase

it is a bad comment, Luke is like that and let him figure it out himself, hes watching it the first time while we have watched this series already of course theres a difference in perspective and knowledge.

AinChase

let him be, you watched it already and know all this stuff he is watching this for the first time a long with other Anime if you've been watching Luke for years you will know this is his quirk lol

Krawbs

You right. My bad.

Rainet

All Might and Deku have "One for All", lol, you're listening to Luke too much xD

Dooba Dooba

12:45 "I hate these kind of people" "Well I hate these people" "We agree things need to change. But what change is needed is how we disagree"

Lucas Prestes

Their goals aren’t total opposites, both hate current era heros, they diverge only in the fact the league wants to kill All might and All might is the only hero in the entire world Stain respects

Anime Patriots

Well, superman is not your family member lol

G User

Breakdown without spoilers; Deku 5% = how much he can handle without straining body. 100% = bones break Stain/Shigaraki differences: Stain wishes there were more “All Mights” (more true heroes, less “fake” heroes) Shigaraki wishes there were no/less “All Might” figures (less peace, more chaos) Both want to change society, but different strategies

Kenneth Hoerz

It kind of makes sense. There are going to be villains that are just out there for the power thrill, and then there will be others out there with there own code and goals.

𝖐𝖆𝖙𝖘𝖚𝖐𝖎 𝖇𝖆𝖐𝖚𝖌𝖔𝖆𝖙

I mean there's a difference between perspective and just not focusing or understanding what's literally in front of you. For me it's frustrating and makes me worry that when the story gets further along, how is he going to understand or follow the story if he misconstrues everything that the show tells him flat out? But like I'm a new subscriber so maybe this is the norm lol will he like, read comments and at least what he got wrong? (as long as it's not spoilers ofc)

darkchaos125

11:40 The explanation is simple Stain wants to purge "fake" or unworthy heroes (in his eyes) to weed out the heroes who aren't exemplary, to create a society where he is the villain who gives birth to real heroes. He wants MORE genuine heroes like All Might. Stain does cross social norms and is therefore a psychopath, but he does not manipulate people and therefore is not a sociopath. He wants society to follow social norms that would lead others to be better, not worse, by society's best standards. Shigaraki wants to kill heroes so there's less heroes in the world, and to create a world for Villains, for people to live however they like. To do whatever they want without being chained down by society's norms, including what is ethical or legal. Shigaraki is what you'd call a sociopath on top of being psychopathic. Psychopaths are those who are aware they're breaking social norms. Sociopaths are those who are trying to change those norms and twist everyone's realities. 23:00 I forgot to mention this earlier cuz you asked a question and wondered why Stain agreed to work with Shigaraki. That is a complete misunderstanding you have, their conversation did not suggest in any way they agreed to work with each other. Stain very very clearly said he didn't want to work with them.

Smonolith

to understand why stain and handjob can have one thing in common but still be polar opposites, think of hardcore nazis and hardcore anarchists: both probably hate the current government and want to completely restructure society, but what they wanna do exactly could not be more different

darkchaos125

No. He is bad at paying attention and fails to understand even when the most basic information is presented to him. Stop coddling humans. Lowering education standards just because the extreme few are incapable of keeping up while being underqualified to be in the same grade is what breeds mediocrity in the first place, and a politically correct climate that teaches "lying to ourselves and censoring ourselves" is "kindness" eventually leads to everyone being unhappy, constantly walking on eggshells because someone's ego and precious "feefees" has to be stroked and sheltered, even if they don't want to admit it If pointing out faults is wrong, then justice is dead. It's just a world of feelings over facts.

Rainet

Found the angsty teen lol

Rainet

@chakalicious you know taking a few notes (or having a mod / community member who can be trusted to avoid spoilers make a few notes) is not especially rare for reactors, right? Particularly with longer running or more complex shows? Not that I would say MHA is overly complex (or THAT long), but it does have a bad habit of dropping important lore in easily missed, single-sentence statements, and its especially easy for those to get missed when you're actively reacting to the show instead of just watching and reading. People just want him to enjoy all the nuance and subtleties of the show and want to hear his thoughts on those aspects, and like. That's not a bad thing, even if some aren't exactly being polite or helpful. I think having a few notes on the key lore drops from each episode would probably help him a lot, if there's a way for him to take (or just get) them without throwing off his reactions. And he HAS been asking questions about things which have been directly answered within the last episode or two quite a bit more than usual with this season of MHA in particular.

dartcp

Basically, it's forbidden to freely use your Quirk, yes—except for heroes, who train specifically so their abilities don't cause even worse incidents. This is never clearly explained in the anime, so this is purely my speculation. I think you could obtain some kind of permit or license allowing you to use your ability professionally. Special cases, for example someone with a healing Quirk. You're not a doctor, but you work in a hospital as a nurse or assistant, and under a doctor's supervision and with their permission, you're allowed to use your healing power on patients. I could imagine such exceptions exist, because not everyone capable of healing would necessarily be able to complete medical school, yet such an ability would still be extremely valuable to society. But again, this is just my personal speculation. P.S. But even if it were forbidden to simply use one's abilities—if I had the power of flight, I wouldn't care about the law anyway.

Kenra

Recovery Girl can’t heal him, he was hurt too severely. She can only heal so much. She couldn’t even fully heal Dekus limbs as they were still scarred.

darkchaos125

I don't think you're using that word correctly my dude. Most people would just be lazy and call that being "bipolar".
