There's a very popular fan theory that even got approval from the creators of the show that Sokka would have been the Avatar of this age. If Aang hadn't been frozen in the iceberg he would have lived out his life and passed away of old age, and the next in line in the Avatar cycle would have been a water bender from the Southern Water Tribe. The theory is that because Aang is still alive, Sokka was born without the Avatar spirit and that's why he has no ability to bend.

I still remember watching this as it came out, i was about the same age as the characters and it was such a magical experience that made me be obsessed with becoming a writer myself... not quite there yet, but rewatching this now fills me with that same inspiration again. I wish every show had such thoughtful and dedicated writers.... ❤️❤️❤️ simply peak.

It may seem like a small victory but its actually huge for the fire nation, that was one of the only things preventing them from conquering the earth kingdom! Watching you react to the show gives me the same feeling as when I watched it for the first time. Having to wait to see your reactions feels the same as when I had to wait for the episodes to air when they first came out. Its close to experiencing the show all over again for the first time. I think that's one of the things that makes reaction channels so entertaining. Seeing your theories on what's going to happen and watching your emotions with the characters brings back my memories from the first time I seen it. Its nice and I like it lol

It's kind of funny that Zuko spent 3-4 years chasing the avatar and always failing. Obsessed to the point that he literally becomes sick for letting Appa go. And then Iroh just strolls up to the door and knocks to find him.

yeah I Like the Yue theory way more, mainly because "Sokka being the Avatar" is like one of those gifts you give to someone with good intentions but is actually the worst possible gift you could give. Seems really poorly thought though on what that would imply. I could write a 15 pages on this so let me try to cut it short: The Avatar is not just some cosmic cool superpower given to Aang, Aang IS the Avatar. The Avatar is a person, the body is a "Avatar" for the spirit that is now called Aang. How could Sokka be Sokka, if he was Aang? All you get is just the Avatar in Sokkas body, which would not be Sokka. At the core it undermine pretty much all the reason we like Sokka, as you are just saying Sokka is not cool becuse hes Sokka, his cool becuse he was linked to comsic powers that should have been "Aang" So in one go you shit on the Avatar as concept by boiling it down to some superpower, and on Sokka as human by implying he did not get where he is by his own efforts. So no thanks. The universe did not plan for Sokka, how could it have? hes Sokka, he kissed the moon, and bended harts across nations.

But most importantly, Not afraid of letting its characters learn and grow by their mistakes. Not solving its problems with simple solutions and avoiding consequences for actions.

Pretty sure Toph is used to her parents saying they care about her blindness and then acting like its not a problem. But on the other hand to be fair to her mom, how exactly else you gonna send a message to someone you dont know the exact location of?

I never realized as a kid that this entire thing was azula's plan to force aang into the avatar state and kill him to get rid of the avatar problem permanently. In one stroke she cleared the fire nation's last two big hurdles of the avatar and ba sing se. The absolute zero hesitation to just shoot a bolt through his heart the second he exposed himself after holding back and not revealing her lightning powers during every fight she's had with aang until that very moment was ice cold, she literally waited all this time just to catch him off guard and drill his ass at the first opportunity.

I’ve only heard this said about Yue, never Sokka. There are plenty of nonbenders, it’s not weird that Sokka isn’t one. Yue is the only person we know of who was born without… well, they don’t specifically say, but I’m gonna go with “vital energy?” Seems like it fits that theory way better.

I see Azusa as just a master manipulator. Anything she says that seems “nice” or her “changed” or “surprising” is really just a way for her to manipulate and use people. I just think she used Zuko to avoid fighting him directly

I really love your videos, but is there a reason you often mispronounce character's/ people's names? It's one thing when just reading it, but we can hear how to pronounce it in the shows/ movies over and over. Maybe still 15 (okay I checked before posting this...one day from 16 rofl). We had to wait like 9 months for the *start* of the next season, then *another* 8 months half way through that season. Oh man, it was fucking brutal...

The whole Avatar spirit and the Chakras stuff is rooted in Buddhism and I assume Hinduism too since they share a common ancestor of Religion/Spirituality- but I know less about Hinduism. The main thing The Buddha learned and thought was that the root of all suffering is attachment. Hence Aang detaching himself from all earthly things to gain enlightenment and control The Avatar State.
