Everyone except the main spy (who is in reality a combination of multiple spies) are real people. Most even have the same names they had irl, the gangs are real, gang members are real, the violence is real. Some politician names have been slightly altered so the filmmakers don't face problems, but literally all the characters and events that unfolded, and the ways they died are real. Including the guy at the end who is the Pakistani high ranking official who sold sensitive Pakistani nuclear details to the Israeli's. Instead of using his real name the actor has imitated his behaviour to the tea. Dawood is a big name known in India in the gangster world & the names of all the terrorists the "unknown men" killed in that chapter are all real, dead in the exact same way. So it is literally a true depiction, just adding a fictionalized spy character who is a combination of intel by many and showing the sacrifices & traumas spies go through. You also saw real scenes of the PM of India modi etc during his swearing in ceremony, demonetization etc (all of which is true). The timelines were a bit compressed though. Some of the things I mentioned you will see when you watch the rest of the movie

Dawood Ibrahim was a mafia boss in Mumbai & literally was terrorizing people, including the film industry which is based in Mumbai (Bollywood). They were extorting money, threatening famous actors, director, producers & shooting them in the open if they refused their demands. Mumbai was terrorized by the underworld until the early 1990's. It was after that the entire underworld was dismantled & police encountered hundreds of gangsters & Dawood fled to Pakistan. So for someone who doesn't know him, his appearance in this movie might not seem like a big deal. But I literally got shivers when he appeared. The fact that the same industry he terrorized is in a position today where they can boldly speak up about him is truly something to be proud of

Next watch a fun romcom with the same actor Ranveer Singh called "Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahani" ✨ It's lighthearted & fun with great songs. You can truly see the different roles he plays & the versatility he has

Phenomenal movie. All true events. Brilliant visuals, acting, music and direction. You'll get some hardcore Muslims trolling it as they're blind to the evils of militancy in Pak. But most educated Muslims can validate and appreciate it. Incredibly brave to expose Dawood and co and show the evil mafia as weak now when past Muslim heroes and makers in India and Asia always glorified them out of fear. This is a benchmark for new cinema. 💎 👏 🎉 ❤️ All other movies and show feels lackluster after this tbh

At one point Dawood was no2 most wanted globally, after Osama. He's more dangerous than presidents and PMs. As shown in the movie
