Well it also because she's never near any large bodies of water she only has the pouch with her, wich is why her feats are spread out, but when she does it's great like the swamp episode she just starts going ham and the s2 finale against the earth kingdom and then against Azula.

Feel a bit worried for Lukes kids if he thinks ATLA is to much for them. Like Luke being a good father dose not mean shelter them from everything in life, it means to be there when they have questions instead of avoiding reality. But also ATLA is a amazing kids show as kids wont understand the grown up jokes at all. The worst in it is kissing, and if that's considered "bad" now RIP humanity. Its also funny and weird to me how many adults think kids need to be sheltered from adult jokes where you need a adult mind to even understand the joke. Thats just needless overprotective, especially in this day and age, were you rather should worry about AI and the social media. ATLA is a show everybody should watch, definitely not to much for kids, it has amazing and important life lessons.

The real secret ability in this show is how they all bend time, cuz wdym that was about three days of training and Iroh got that fit in like a month and Katara knew like three waterbending moves before they got to the North Pole but was a master by the end of the week.

Brother, they just said Aang has been out for a few weeks. How do you read that and ask 1 minute later how long was he out? Do you not pay attention or don't remember? Feels like twitch chat is taking most of your attention on this series lately. Which is fine, I mean talk and comment with your twitch chat but not while watching something, gonna cause comprehension issues like we've seen. Most reactors don't even stream while watching something and even when playing games and streaming they don't pay such high attention to the chat, their utmost attention is to what they're doing. Someone may be telling a tale of whatever really, a brave adventurer with a stick or something in chat and you'll pay more attention to that instead of what you're actually watching. 😄 I mean if you enjoy communicating with chat, just do that - communicate with chat but if you don't enjoy watching something and comprehending it - why do it in the first place? I'm just curious as I don't see any point in it.

To be fair, I think Luke's kids are very young, like 4 or 5. I agree with you, but I think ATLA is still a little much for that age. I think 7 or 8 is around an okay age for ATLA.

I feel like they wouldn't even understand it at their age since its a bit too complex but I do think watching Avatar as a kid was a huge net positive for me long term, it taught me to appreciate and engage with media in a more thoughtful way, and expect more from the things I consume instead of just slop kids content with no depth. It definitely influenced me a lot with my creativity and media literacy and I'm honestly really happy my parents let me watch Avatar instead of some brainrot disney channel slop.

That troupe is totally true, one of the most beautiful and sweetest girl I ever met in HS dated this TOTAL douchbag for 2 years and that was her HS relationship, he was NOTHING special and way too cocky and not a good person at all, and she was the easiest person to talk to and genuinely nice to everyone… now she’s married happily with a good guy but that school relationship thing does happen, I was the small quite kid chatting with her when Mr dumbutt asked her out right in front of me, it was kind of pathetic, she almost turned him down like 2 times but he persisted and eventually she was like “maybe” and that was it.

Eh, I don't think Sokka was being unreasonable nor Aang being exactly out of character. Sokka is right that they can't help everyone, and they are also currently fugitives of the fire nation. Even if they hide Aang's identify, Katara the water bender and Toph the earth bender will not be the most welcome in the fire nation ,esp if someone higher up hears of them and puts 2 and 2 together. Aang has already had to compromise on his morals for what is practical. Remember, he isn't HAPPY about hiding his identity as the Avatar, in part because of this exact thing. And yet he was heavily pressured to comply and did see reason after some time to process. And that was for something VERY personal to him. Meanwhile, Katara wants to help strangers, and the only real way of helping them requires bending. Meanwhile, she refused to compromise on her morals, even though she agreed Aang should compromise on his. I'm not saying this is inherently bad, and I actually attribute this flaw to her age. It's just she's shown repeatedly to have a certain element of a stubborn, hypocritical..... selfishness (a bit odd considered the context here, but I hope you get my point lol). She's very "My way or the highway" at times and is not above being manipulative and two-faced even to her friends to get it. You can actually connect it in a way to the Pirate episode, where she stole the water scroll.

Agree, if they hadn’t done that spirit magic scaring off thing at the end, it would have ended badly for the villagers regardless of what Katara did to help them for a brief time, even destroying the factory isn’t a well thought out answer. The real way to help towns all over like that is change Fire Nation leadership which is kinda what Sokka was getting at, seeing the big picture. And they did lose days of time.

I think its so much worse for kids watching "brainrot slop" than a show at times gose dark but for the right reasons. People talk about "what kids can handle" from my own life experience, the stuff that has scared me was the things that did not come with a guide to how to deal with it. in a extreme example: Its not as if I become some able to watch a person get sawed in half and not be scare, its just that I have build up a framework in my mid for dealing with such intense content, "what dose it mean to feel pain" "what dose it mean to lose a body part" "what would I think if I lost my arm" Its the unknown that scare us the most, that's why good kid content show the kids the dark stuff in small bits and explain what the emotions it gives means. I think a lot of people end up thinking its better to never show kids dark stuff, but that also means it remains unkown to them and hits much more traumatic when they one day face it. I think of it a lot like sickness, a vaccine is a weak version of the virus to train you body, the same gose for good kid content. Thats why ATLA is good kid content, also brainrot slop content can be full of really bad messages. people should definitely be careful what they show kids, which is why I will happily die on hill that ATLA is amazing show for all ages, and great learning tool. ( but I am also just a big ATLA fan :D and grew up with this show XD also feel it was a net positive for me )

I still don't understand the "avatar slayer" angle. Zuko wanted to capture the Avatar, not only because he isn't the type to slay people in cold blood, but also because the Avatar must be ALIVE or they will reincarnate. Now, maybe if they said "killed the Avatar in the Avatar state" that's way more impressive and significant, but is it common knowledge that if you die in the Avatar state, you die forever? Cuz it doesn't seem like Aang knew that, since Roku made a point to tell him. The whole fire nation knows close kept Avatar lore?

Well I think they're like, 4 and 6? But in 2-4 years they'll be the age I was when this aired (the intended demographic) so that's the perfect time for them to watch a QUALITY kids show. Cleanse them of brain rot.

It's been a long while since I've seen him replying to anything in patreon, and we're paying too. Now, Luke could use the episode's pauses to interact with chat instead of doing it while the episode is playing or pausing it mid-sentence. Or maybe just pay attention to the episode, actually react to it and then, make a pause between episodes to interact with chat. Multi tasking is the way to get 2 things done, yeah, but done bad.

@poshdoll not my point. I feel like everyone has comprehension issues when reading anything. I'm not saying don't do either, if you can multitask that's fine but one shouldn't come at the expense of the other. I mean pay attention to both - to what you're doing, otherwise what's the point of doing it? The person below you actually got my point correctly, pause and interact with chat if that's what you want but why treat the actual reason for the stream which is - TO WATCH THE EPISODE, like a background thing. Besides, if you want to interact with chat throughtout the whole stream - do a stream that's purposed for this, isn't it easier and better? Last but not least, we're paying for subscription too. Yeah people who do not have the time to attend the 2-3 hours of stream or in a different timezone exist. Here, I can twist your words like most people who reply to me do all the time - are you saying our time isn't valuable and that we don't matter? 🙂

Sokka's training was just 1 day. Katara is very talented, while she struggled at first with the scroll it was because she was frustrated because of Aang being even more talented. But after fighting many times out of necessity, she was able to come up with waterbending moves on her own, enough to impress Paku, and being trained by him, she just mixed her natural talent with actual training, becoming an actual master of waterbending. Sokka is talented too, but not with bending. It's not like Sokka didn't know anything about fighting with a sword before his training, he even got to beat some fire nation soldiers himself with his water-tribe sword. His teacher only improved his movements by making him more confident and explaining a couple things.
