1:11:15 I do agree that would probably be a good idea, cause there's definitely a chance it might work at stopping the kids, but i think they'd probably immediately realize it to be a bluff. The villains biggest threat is all might, so similarly to how all might cant do anything while there is hostages, they can't start killing hostages or all might will break out and take them all out, and it'd be crazy to put yourself at risk of all might just to stop a bunch of kids Theres no cost to bluffing tho, so i do think it might be worth a shot, but i imagine the villains are assuming the kids are already aware of the hostage situation and doing this anyways, so i don't think its too out of character to not do

I do hope you check out all the movies in between their seasons and decide for yourself if you like them or not - the people who don't can just not watch the reactions 🙏 especially the second movie, the mangaka did say that parts of the end of that movie were originally going to be the series ending that he had planned before he axed it, but it's still a fun (and epic) movie night watch! modern day anime fans are just WAY too anal about only strictly following the absolute canon material and anything extra is forbidden lol

The fact is, this movie is not part of the manga, every movie is a full original story outside the manga, but with a lot of things brought by the author to stay consistent with the manga. Very small parts of the movies were included in the manga/anime after, but rarely with a real impact on the story.

16:00 In theory, yes, it would work, but depends on how you define "forcing". If a person is coerced into giving One For All to someone, but the transfer is done by that person's own will, then yes, that would work. Only thing that's not possible is to steal it from its holder.

No one says extra stuff is forbidden, you are angry at people in your head. But the other thing is, if this stuff was important, it would be in the manga or the series, so since it isnt....eh. Most anime movies are like this. Since its not mandatory for the story, it can't be full canon, so nothing important can happen in the movie. That means everything will go back to how it was before the movie, which makes watching it kinda pointless. At least thats my thought process.

you dont only watch a movie if it ties directly into the series, if that was the case then no one would have watched any of the dozen movies for DBZ and Super, but they are all beloved movies because they are good, you watch a movie because it is good, not because it ties into something else

Except it is full canon. We may not see much of it, but that is why they generally take place away from the physical locations of the main story. Are they side stories? Sure. But, without giving specific spoilers, we get definitive proof that the characters and events of the movies are canon to the anime. And the Manga isn't the only canon either. Heck, look at all the different series that have the gamut of mediums (web novel, light novel, manga, anime, etc). Most aren't 1 to 1 retellings and have changes for the specific medium.

@patros36... if you're only watching for the story progression, then watching the movie would be pointless for you. If you enjoy a well written plot, good animation, good action sequences, a good OST, the characters themselves and their development (not so much within the movie, but at the different times the movies take place), then there's plenty reason to watch and enjoy it. Comes down to the individual and what you get out of it really. For example, I only ever read the manga for the story progression, because the art work doesn't really do much for me. By the same token, I don't care for many of the live action anime adaptations despite the occasionally good production quality when they've deviated from the original story too much. To each their own really.

I remember the first time I watched this series, this movie really hammered home for me just how much All Might struggles with his muscle form. Seeing him in his prime, his eyes are bright and visible, and the smile is so natural and easy going. Then it jumps back to the the present and he's constantly flexing, his eyes are shadowed out, and the smile is fixed in place and looks almost more like gritted teeth than a genuine smile in many instances. Without the comparison to his past self I didn't really notice that S1 or S2, but this movie really made me notice those little details.

and a lot of people actually like the characters in a series so much they'll gladly watch more of them no matter how "extra" the material is, and unless I'm extremely dense, I've gotten the feeling that Luke really likes these characters? 😭 so I'm sure he'll definitely get something out of the other movies too

The author did make a special that came out alongside each movie acknowledging them and has said themself the films are all canon but yeah we might not see much of these characters interacting in the show

It actually makes sense that the scientists can't leave the island. Early on, it was stated that the island houses the greatest and best scientists—along with their research—and that it is constantly on the move for security reasons. What good would that security be if you could simply kidnap the scientists while they were on shore leave?

And yes, *Konosuba* takes this to the extreme for comedic effect.

Personally I am not a huge fan of the movies. As you brought up, the events of the movies aren't really going to effect the show. This is mainly because they are filler that didn't actually draw from the original manga. With the second movie in particular you have to take it with a HUGE grain of salt, because they do some things that really bend/break the rules of the show. I do admit though that the second one is at least quite entertaining.

NON-SPOILER ANSWERS TO LUKES QUESTIONS: - You CAN forcefully transfer someone One For All, they just can't physically force you to transfer it to them by just getting your DNA, it needs will of the user. - Deku has more POTENTIAL power than All Might, since it accumulated and passed down to him, and he has been accumulating more power, but he has no capacity nor the strength to draw out its full potential yet, so All Might is still stronger than Deku.

ACs arent a thing really in the UK. And 35+C in the UK is hot for the UK, we have a much milder climate normally. We are also islands and surrounded by ocean/sea, the humidity can be crazy. Even Americans who visit during our heatwaves are shocked by the heat. Also most of our buildings are insulated to keep heat in due to cold and wet winters. The heat hits differently.

55:45 I feel silly explaining it to someone who studied the law, but why would there be exemptions? Just like in real life, if you see someone being assaulted and you attack the agressor, you're still very likely going to be detained, even though the prosecutor may later file no charges. It's the same in MHA - yes, it is against the law to use your quirk to fight crime without a hero license, but if you do so in a situation where it makes sense, you're going to be fine

Probably cause filler episode are different, just look at the few fillers episode from MHA, these are the lowest rated episodes. Same for Naruto or Bleach, even more cause they have to much of these episodes. And also cause these movies have a full story, a good quality and are not seen as something to "lose time" for the manga to advance

This is why I watch anime on the no payment required sites, hardly ever run into problems with subs or translation quality and if there are, they would get fixed instead of left in that state for years.. but thankfully it wasn't too big of an issue and you were able to enjoy the movie.

Not entirely true. It is possible to just watch the series without the movie but at least at the end some got confused with a scene where people who watched the movies were able to connect the dots.
