Ooo ive been wondering what happened!

Lukash

sorry, question unrelated to the post, does anyone know if luke mentioned what is the plan about reacting to One Piece? i know he wanted to, but maybe the community doesnt?

rarebearvt

crazy thumbnail patreon

James Collins

Welll well well it’s about time lol

Nicholas Johnson

IDK, about the rest of the community. But I want it.

Shin

After he finishes avatar hes going to immediately start one piece with a subathon reacting to as many episodes as he can before he gets tired and then he's gonna continue the series on the regular schedule afterwards.

Doug_dig

Hey Luke, so one of the Avatar comic books explains that Ozi sought out a descendant of Roku to marry to hopefully get an especially powerful fire bender from both lineages… with mixed results.

Nicholas Johnson

I have to say it. I can't believe Luke made it to season 3, not realizing that the Avatar that vanished was Aang being frozen for about 100 years. That's wild.

Daniel Turchan

The beach ep is Pure AZULA, yes she lies and is deceptive, but she’s grown up under a sadistic father and never been treated or acted “normal”, had a normal life, it shows she’s not perfect, ALL her flaws are here in this episode, social anxiety, controlling and manipulating, makes other afraid of her, but I think it’s bc she’s afraid of herself too deep down.

Craig

Don't disrespect Sozin and Roku by calling them naruto and sasuke. Avatar's characters are well written

GhostZethAaa

Why patreon had to do Ty Lee like that.

AzyxA

Aww yeah!

Katie Wyatt

So, are we not voting on One Piece vs Bleach? He's just gonna do One Piece?

Yui

One Piece is confirmed for the Thursday Twitch stream after Avatar.

Taraster33

Gotta love that totally not intentional mic peak in the intro. Well played, is still rages me.

Michael Mavis

Episode 8 is WAY more adult than killing Jet and crippling the Avatar?

Ven0mDem0n

maybe Unpopular opinion, but I was on Sozin's side—at least at the beginning. His basic idea of sharing the Fire Nation's wealth and uniting all four nations wasn't bad at all, but the way he selled it to Roku was the wrong way. Roku could have shared his ideas into this as his role as the Avatar; instead of expanding the Fire Nation by seizing other territories, he could have established something like the UN in our world with zosin—where each nation sends a representative, and things are shared and decided by vote.

Skyler Croghan

no sound after 3 refresh ,.... copyright?

Nate Ming

This is how I went and learned about British rating certificates The US has G > PG > PG-13 > R > NC-17, and the UK has U > PG > 12A > 12 > 15 > 18 > R18

"I'm just saying, if you can water bend sweat how come you can't control body fluid?" *Chapter 8: The Puppetmaster*

SidekickSteph

The beach episode is a tribute to some anime shows, there’s almost always a beach episode. In time you’ll appreciate it more, it’s there for a reason. Very odd for sure 😂 but it’s a gem.

Ara Araragi

5:35 The mark you see on the bottom of Aang's foot is the exit wound from Azula's lightning attack, which is a neat bit of attention to detail. When the lightning hit Aang in the back, it traveled downward through his body and out the sole of his foot, seeking the path of least resistance to the ground.

mate mzhavanadze

This man decides how to perceive a character, and then he just won't let that go.😂 I mean, yeah, Azula is horrible, but she is a bit more complex than just "Evil," and that's all

rarebearvt

oh man starting with the beach and ending with puppetmaster, what a whiplash

mate mzhavanadze

Yeah, Luke, they didn't say that you didn't like the first episode; they said they thought you would have loved it. I also kind of thought you would have "loved" that episode, not because I don't understand that liking it is an option, but because I understand it and I am separating them. It's one of those famous episodes everyone kind of likes and knows about

mate mzhavanadze

No, Sozin was more like, our nation is prosperous. Everything is going well for us. Other nations suck, so why don't we share our prosperity with everyone else? I mean, technically, if you think about just, I guess, when it comes to technology and stuff like that, the Fire Nation is pretty advanced. It is the westernmost nation, so it's kind of like the West in our world. Very vaguely in only this context, it's not really supposed to be representing like America or something that isn't my point. You know what we usually think of as more developed nations in the west I guess. And fire and lightning is energy, if they can manipulate energy, they have a big advantage in technology and engineering over other elements so it makes sense they would be the most advanced nation.

ArtKi

1:05:45 Dragon wrapping itself around Roku. that's just what dragons do! For example, a certain vegetarian dragon in the last episode of s1 Re:Zero.

Golden Witch Beatrice

There’s a cool little piece of world building/Iroh callback is in the Katara vs Hama fight. The part where Katara wall slammed the water isn’t a Water Bending technique! If you look at her stance it’s reminiscent of the unmoving style of Earth Bending. Back in Book 2 when Iroh was lecturing Zuko about Lightning he talks about how from watching Water Benders stances are all about redirection he learned how to incorporate that into his Fire Bending thus a defensive technique. We can infer that from Katara and Toph teaching Aang simultaneously, Katara has subconsciously mimicked Earth stances into her own fighting style

haru

41:15 Poor chatter specifically used the word "love" and not "like" yet still triggered a tirade, despite being absolutely correct lol

Christopher Wells

idk why he thinks ember island is weird, considering how much they show of the adventures of Aang's group, having an episode like this makes sense. Plus its interesting and funny to see them in a normal teenager environment where their status and power don't matter. It shows off their character and pays off later.

Koga Wolfe

Combustion Man is one of my favorite characters. Based a hero in Champions Online on him since I could choose for the power to come from my head. He shot fire/force blasts from his head, swung chains around, had regeneration, and could punch really hard. My Profile pic is also of that same character. I named him Whiplash because I could pull in the mobs using my chain, then use force eruption to blow them all away, causing whiplash.

Joshua Vaughn

Demon Slayer Infinity Castle movie streaming on July 28th. Just announced by Crunchyroll

Kuzon39

The confusion kinda makes sense because when they say it in the intro, it does show Roku disappearing, so that visual may have stuck

Mari

Hi luke as a lesbian I just want to say youre 100% correct about Azula's world domination rizz and all the no votes are lying to themselves.

Mad Man Moon

"weird" and "out of place" don't mean "bad".

Zen Reacts

You say Iroh has always been good but he has literally laughed at the thought of burning Ba Sing Se to the ground. Its not being good vs being evil it's about having the capacity to change

Mis6s6y6

Love the Scooby Doo ending 🤣 💯

RavenMagus

going to be honest I'm not a one piece hater, but also not a show i enjoy, so really not looking forward to 5 years of Thursdays being one piece

Vincent Jones

He's probably the reactor with the loosest concept of character motivations from any that I watch. He's *constantly* shocked and confused as to why people are doing extremely expected things.

Hylia Yggdrasil

There are dark uses for bending that become more present, Legend of Korra introduces a few uses for bending that are incredibly dark, one of the books, about Kyoshi, waterbending is used to literally freeze someone's heart.

TheJFKexperience69420

you can see that in zuko firebending in the earth king place, he moves fire like a wave to the tai lee

Aaren YASS

Pigeons were originally bred to be messenger birds, if I'm remembering correctly. They're quite intelligent.

Sara Wallace

I really dislike that this is a show he decided to do as a stream because his stream shows are the ones where he's the least connected and grounded in the story - he did himself a disservice by streaming this.

JOSHUA A STERRETT

Ignorant fool: AtLA isn't an anime! Me, an intellectual: Then why does it have a beach episode?

Kino M.P

Messenger birds works on principle of knowing two places. They get fed in one place and have a nest in the other. So they carry messages between those two. It doesn't have to be a stable place, but it is easier than trying to locate a moving target. So there were two version of it. The stable pidgeon "mail" of sort, and personal couriers.

Malik Ford

Azula is probably Latina

Kevin Croft

Bro doesn't know about beach episodes?

Lucas Prestes

I THINK when it comes to save Roku Sozin was pretty conflicted himself, he could not let his friend die by the volcano without trying to help at least, I think he only made his mind at that very last moment, because it was too easy for him to just ignore roku ans leave him to die

StrykerEvol

Avatar has some really insane bending styles, especially the novels exclusives you will not see during the TV show. Like sound bending, glass bending or bone bending.

YueTempest

There's strong lady Crazy And then there's Azula

YueTempest

Also want to say that using bloodbending has heavy consequences for your mental state

Malachi Marable

1:53:59 Yes. That's why he's so dangerous. Remember when that earthbender thought Toph threw the fight because he couldn't seen Aang's airbending? Combustion Man's attacks are invisible. They haven't attempted take him down because there's a massive difference between fire and explosions. The blast waves, the sudden release of massive amounts of energy, are impossible to dodge or guard against. Fire can burn you. The sudden, precise, and intentionally directed force of an explosion can tear you apart. There aren't many firebenders that are taking of limbs, and causing internal trauma and bleeding with every attack.

Illiterate Mochi

He does literally say “it’s a great episode but very weird” at one point.

Kirisaiteiku

To be fair to Zuko, she's just not saying anything to him at all super disinterested aprat from "I want" and "go get" all day- then while he's getting her what she wants she's talking to the guy that hit on her in front of you while you're gone. I don't know mang...

Malik Ford

They did that game in the recent 007 game

Kino M.P

Every type of bending has the level of instak^ll. Earth can control your bones. Fire can control your life force. Air can rip oxygen out of your cells. If you think bloodbending is scary, imagine fighting using someone's guts. As a water bender you can literally rip them out. Bloodbending in comparison doesn't hurt you that much. Earth bender shattering every bone in your body, that's a proper torture. Air bender unaliving parts of your body. Not you. Just your leg, arm, both kidneys... Have you ever seen a person who's foot became black?

Iron_claw

Pick back up and Finish Hell's Paradise season 2 and finish sentenced to be a hero were all tired of waiting

Kirisaiteiku

1:11:30 Sir that's what is called racism; for shame Luke. For shame!

Kirisaiteiku

1:12:25 WOOOOAAAHHHHH DROPPING THE HARD RE LIKE THAT IS WILD!COULDN'T EVEN SAY FIYYA NATION???

Kirisaiteiku

Jesus christ Luke. This series has made me so frustrated with you! Did you think because it was a cartoon "fOr kIDs!" that it wasn't worth a dedicated reaction like your anime ones? Your always distracted a key moments, making jokes, reading chat trying keep them entertained instead of paying attention. This is one of my favorite shows of all time. And every time you pause to talk at the worst times like literally mid sentences often! instead of waiting for right moment between highs. I feel this urge to scream coming up from my chest!

Kirisaiteiku

I'm begging you Luke. I know you already finished the series. But I'm begging through time to past you; it's not bad enough to pause mid-monologue/dialogue on the most important ones which there's like what 20-40 of them in the whole show, like 10% of the show? BUT EVEN JUST TALKING OVER THEM WITHOUT PAUSING TOO? AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

The GoDKing 27

About the friendship lasting more than one lifetime is proved in korra

madison bunten

Fiendly reminder: Azula is 14 years old. he is a product of her environment: she was praised and raised by Ozai - she didn't have any protective factors. She rejected her mother and leaned into her father... Because he had the power and authority and he would give her tiny amounts of praise if she was perfect. Zuko had his mother and Iroh and did not have affection from his father. She shows sadistic and manipulative traits from a very young age - but think about who her father is; the perfection he demanded and the examples she had of failure. She is violent and dangerous. And only 14 and raised to be that way. Even though Zuko had the same parents they were treated very differently.
