So, Shigaraki, the hand villain, has a villain name: Shigaraki Tomura. This is how everyone knows him But All for One met him as a kid and called him by his birthname Shimura Tenko. So you will see both names being used by different people

I’ll be the first to say it, LUKE THAT WAS SOME AMAZING SLEUTHING. With all that happens towards the end of the episode, I don’t know if Ive seen any reactor immediately catch on to Shimura that quick and know there’s a relationship. I loved watching you piece that together in real time.

in the midroll info card it said that all for one's quirk is the one doing the swapping. Also it is worth noting that throughout most of the show facepalm is using "shigaraki tomura" as an alias instead of "tenko shimura" presumably so all might doesnt make the connection to his predecessor

Is it only me or i didn't enjoy season 5 at all. Season 6 was the best season ever. I'd probably even say it was even up there with season 8. But season 5 even had me thinking of skipping it at one point. Thankfully i didn't tho. Season 4 also wasn't the best. It wasn't the worst either.

Jeanist's quirk is weak, but he strengthened it through extensive practice and effort. However, AFO desires only quirks that are immediately usable, effective, and powerful(ex: Ragdoll's Search). That is why he did not take Jeanist's quirk.

Season 5 was certainly a necessary part of the story, but the introduction of a new organization and the fact that the League of Villains—rather than the UA—took center stage made it honestly tedious and difficult to follow at times.

Something that gets lost in the conversation most of the time (rightfully so, what happened after was peak), is the fact that you are absolutely right, Luke, about AFO wanting Bakugo's quirk. It was supposed to be a win/win for the villains, either Bakugo joins them, or AFO would just take it for himself, and leave Bakugo like Ragdoll...alive, but quirkless. Either way, hero society would have taken a fatal blow, and AFO would have added a very powerful offensive quirk to his arsenal. When Shiggy asked to borrow AFO's power, after Bakugo told them to go to hell, it's what Shiggy meant. They realized Bakugo would not join them, so they were getting ready to restrain him, so they could take Explosion from him. No spoilers, but the idea that Bakugo Katsuki was minutes away from having his quirk stolen is genuinely terrifying. IYKYK, fellow commenters LOL.

Season 5 wasn't done all that well. It could have been great but they messed it all up and it was mostly due to it being produced right during peak of covid 19 so it really hurt the season and hurt its production. They could have done amazingly well with the season with the villain arc but covid messed it up

It was unfortunately messed up a lot due to covid 19. It literally came out and was in production right during the peak of covid. Japan was really struggling a lot with getting things worked out and they all had to set things up to work from home and just in general it really made things a lot more inconvenient and annoying to produce season 5. Also they made a stupid decision of switching arcs around in that season. The manga had good stuff to adapt especially with the villain arc but the production of the anime ruined a lot of it. Villain academia arc could have been absolutely peak if they didn't fuck it up. I kind of wish they would go back and redo that season
