Kai

Fatgum and Tamaki episode? 👀 It's been a long time since I watched MHA so I've been struggling to remember each episode 😭

Kungor

The work studies are not training per se. It's a chance to get to experience doing hero work, the heroes in charge are under no obligation to directly train the people who work there. Also Sir is not neglecting Deku. He doesn't accept him as All Might's successor, but he's been sent out on patrol duty with Mirio, which is what Uraraka, Tsu and Kirishima have been doing too. The latter three just happened to have situations where they COULD take action and do something about it.

Vitero27

Like one of the comments above I think the training is more so the experience on how to handle real life hero scenarios. In the license exam that’s what he lost the most points for (not reacting to crisis quickly) so I think that’s where the development comes into play.

Kobralex

"people like this exist, so down on themselves, giving them a compliment makes them feel worse." Of course I know him, he's me.

Krawbs

Fun Fact: The quirk boosting drug was first introduced & explored in the My Hero Academia: Vigilantes spinoff. These are also internships to get hero experience on the field rather than direct training.

Lotan

fun fact, chickens can indeed actually fly

Shadow 55

Oh loook, he’s hard!

Nikkelz

Little early for him to know what vigilantes story beats are

Kevin Croft

It's def training. I don't know why you would leave with that.

CaptainClux

Sir is trying to prove that deku isn't worth of OFA, but he isn't neglecting him. The current operation at the agency is looking into the Shie Hasaikai, which means surveilance and inteligence. This is another part of being a hero, and valuable experience. Right now he isn't do smth flashy like the other three, but he is still learning as a hero

Krawbs

Skill issue for not watching it parallel to the main series like it was meant to be. *sip*

Nikkelz

it didn't come out till 6 years after this season my guy

IAmABacon

Technically Chickens can fly, but they're like short-burst sorta flyers. Can't handle long distances

Vinnick

Think you're correct about Sir Nighteye; he's not a bad guy, so he's not going to try and stunt Deku's growth, especially since that would just give Deku something to push back against. If he thinks Deku isn't deserving of One For All, he'll do his best to train Deku, as that would be the only way Deku would (hypothetically from Nighteye's perspective) see what his actual limits are, and WHY he's not worthy.

Krawbs

But since he is watching MHA now and the anime has been airing now it would line up perfectly like it did with the mangas. *sip*

The work studies are less training and more like actual jobs/paid internships. The idea is less to directly train and more to just let them get experience doing real hero work.

Zen Reacts

I dont know where you got the idea this was a training arc. They are there to gain work experience not train. There training happens at school. Nighteye didnt train Mirio. Mirio gained the experience needed to get where hes at by working.

Zen Reacts

Also Nighteye is too much of a professional to just ignore Deku who is working AT his agency. Like why would he purposely let an employee go around making his agency look bad?

*sip* 🤣

I love this season so much, but my absolute favourite parts are when we get to see Red Riot coming into his own as a hero. I love love love Kirishima so much. Top 3 fave character. (Kirishima, Shoji, and Shinso) And to reiterate what others have said, these placements are for experience in the field alongside trusted heroes. its not direct mentor-mentee type training, but practical experience that helps to develop their instincts and knowledge about 'field work'. It's exactly what Mirio was trying to show when he dropped 1-A with ease. Practical experience provides things that instruction and training cannot. Instincts, first hand knowledge, the ability to read people and situations. Also Sir NIghteye has been a mentor and supporter for Lemillion, but he didn't train him on how to develop his abilities. Mirio put in the work himself under the guidance of his teachers before working with Nighteye. I expect that was a major factor in why Nighteye decided to take him on. A highly skilled student with an uplifting spirit that is so similar to All Might. Tbh I think that both Deku and Lemillion carry many of the qualities that made All Might into an icon and symbol, but with Lemillion the similarities are easier to see at first glance. (From my first watch I always reach this point thinking Lemillion feels like All Might's successor, while Midoria feels like the successor for Toshinori the man or for One For All itself.)

Kenra

Crazy how inspiring Kirishima is, he always energizes me

Joshua Vaughn

Real life experience is the best kind of training.

Nikkelz

While I get that point is hes NOT watching vigilantes alongside MHA so it IS a spoiler at this point all you've done by being pedantic is cause us to warn Luke not to read comments per usual.

There is a big difference between work experience and training. Training happens in a controlled environment to learn and improve specific skills. Work Experience happens in the workplace, a distinctly uncontrolled environment, where anything can happen, intended for the purpose of allowing you to better learn to fit into the role and understand the responsibilities involved. Overall they're two opposite methods that are used to improve skills in very different ways.

Finelia Braun

Exactly. They sadly trim their feathers in the industry, so they won'T fly away.

Red Riot makes his Debut!!!!

Juan G.

Luke they had an entire episode to show how talented Lemillion is. His 1st year he struggled compared to his peers because he has a crappy quirk. Over the next couple years he developed into the top student. That episode diplayed how strong and talented Lemillion is and how even if they have weak abilities they can be strong depending on how they are used. Nighteye gives work experience NOT the kind of training you keep implying 🤦‍♂️.

Sian Richardson

But it was released a while before Luke started his MHA reactions, so watching in parallel was possible.

Krawbs

He just saw Quirk Steroids used/existing. What exactly does it spoil to mention this concept was first introduced in the spinoff instead of what he just saw in the main series? If anything it helps him not go crazy over the fact such a thing is barely used in the main series when he now knows it exists.

WhiteDragon6

Dang that animation at the beginning was crazy, I don't remember that

m_love96

Kirishima is my absolute favorite. I love that he can knock a villain out and then immediately try to help him up. That bit of flashback you saw will be expanded upon in a future episode this season. I’m so so so excited for you to go through the season 4 journey!

m_love96

Also! Keep in mind the Kirishima came second in the UA entrance exam, only after Bakugou. It definitely helps give some extra context when Kirishima is talking about feeling left behind compared to his classmates and Bakugou looks at him with such a “wtf” face 😂

Michael

For like 20 feet, unless they are wild chickens, then it’s more but still not flight flight, only short distances.

Phoenix Vanacker

Chickens can indeed fly. Just not for a long time
