Still hoping for Wolf Children

Fahed JKR

What is this i though we are going to watch Prince of Egypt ?

Oliver Segelhorst

mybe i missed something but what did happen to one piece? The subathon was already at 39 episodes^^

Emily Jewett

Tim Curry recommendation- he is brilliant in Clue.

PaulfromTX

Double feature-usually late night showing of two movies for one admissions price

Gianna

Yeah me too 😅

Smonolith

this movie is horribly transmisogynistic and I'm appalled that you would watch it as if it was just A-okay. sad, you were usually a pretty good guy

Sarah Doty

there was a note on the schedule that he may swap it for this.

Vitero27

Yeah I thought so too but I guess watching this since the passing of Tim Curry is relevant. I’m cool with it, hopefully Prince of Egypt next week as I’ve really been looking forward to it.

TheKnightwatchOfficial

A jerk in Texas who claims to be working on behalf of Crunchyroll (can't prove if he is or isn't) struck Luke's channel with a copyright claim, and until that gets sorted out (Twitch is taking their sweet time), the subathon is on hold. And Luke might not be facing the Texas guy but someone else. There's just a lot of false cropyright claims going around right now.

Vitero27

Issues in the background with Twitch and he will start again when that is all resolved.

Sarah Doty

less than a decade before it's release, being gay would have been illegal/criminalized. is it imperfect looking at it with all the privilege of a dramatically more open and accepting 2026 lens? yes, without question. That doesn't change that it was brave, revolutionary and monumental for it's time, and a huge mark/step in the journey of progress and acceptance for not just LGBT+ individuals, but anyone who was "not normal" by a 1970's definition. To call him a bad person for watching a cult classic film that was suggested to him, that is still beloved and celebrated by the "freaks and outcasts", is a bit uncalled for in my opinion. This changes nothing about him as a person.

Taraster33

If you want a suggested movie that has a similar vibe to Rocky Horror Picture Show, I suggest "Little Shop of Horrors". It is a musical horror/comedy story starred by Rick Moranis. Dark helmet from space balls Rick Moranis. 1986. Great fun

fry

don’t dream it, be it ❤️ imagine how groundbreaking this was for the queer community in the 70s

Vitero27

Feed me Seymour!

Taraster33

Clue is definitely on my top ten. It is so underrated.

Sage Nash

If you enjoy this, you might also look into Reefer Madness the movie musical, which came out in 2005. Both movies came from the stage first. Brilliant film, and some famous faces in there, too.

PaulfromTX

If you can, you and your wife should catch a midnight showing. In the US they are a big party!

Bruce Brown

The way you didn't recognize Meatloaf!

Emily Jewett

My husband and I do the same thing with movies, we’ll grab like 4 or 5 to choose from and go from there.

Wonderxfull

Someone may have already told you this but Oda was inspired by Rocky Horror for a few aspects in One Piece and if you dont catch them when you see them I am positive someone will tell you.

Anne Parsons

The opening is actually talking about several sci-fi movies. And Rocky Horror became an interactive viewing experience. In my area, it's usually a Halloween midnight screening event.

Puprebel

this movie was using all the prefered terms. we can't really judge them by todays standard. this is coming from a queer activist. this movie was monumental for queer visibility in a time where hardly no acceptance existed. does it show that we have come a long way since? clearly. but they did the best with the information and knowledge that they had.

Ranol

On behalf of me and my other LGBT+ friends who I read this comment to, what the fuck is this comment

Simkus

Well if about horror, I can suggest to watch Caroline. It is an animated movie, but with great dark atmoshpere and story.

Laura Purcaci

Hey Luke, i have kind of a list of interesting movies you should watch, they are amazing movies, i am talking about: 1. Souls 2. Brother bear 3. Arcane (its a pretty good series) 4. The book of life 5. Wonder (amazing movie, you can also watch it with your kids)

Some guy

On the wholesome end, I also strongly recommend Muppet Treasure Island. (Actually, is there anything Tim Curry was bad in?)

Vitero27

Brother Bear is a great movie that he would probably love if he hasn’t seen it already

The Large Amoeba

You keep occasionally doing musicals but have yet to do the '1986 Little Shop of Horrors'. I doesn't disappoint. Though it needs to be the directors cut version with the restored ending.

Harald Nassau

"Little Shop of Horrors" from 1986 NEXT PLEASE

Brad & Janet never got to make that phone call...

NikiBelle

Highly recommend Clue - another great Tim Curry! - Also to answer your questions as a professional Theatre Costumer: Every actor (no matter the show) you see on stage is "under dressed." This base layer consists of all of their undergarments plus any additional item they may need for the specific show - in cases like Rocky Horror or other intimate heavy shows this would mean that the character of Janet likely has a strapless skin toned bra (and if the performer desires - it could even have some additional front padding so hands feel padding and not the actor themselves) underneath the "costume" white bra and a pair of skin toned spanks under her slip. Brad would have on compression shorts or a dance belt at the bare minimum under their "costume" pants. If the performer felt this wasn't enough coverage/protection, a couple things could be done. Either additional padding could be added or a hard cup (a very common addition for shows with fight sequences), the things that would determine which direction they would choose would be the comfort of the actor and the comfort of the scene partner (meaning - it would typically never be staged where the scene partner is directly THERE - they'd be slightly lower or higher/off to the side so it appears they are where they aren't - accidents happen and the last thing you need is Rocky and Janet mid-scene and she gets a bruise from a protective cup). These additional layers prevent any unintended audience flashing and protect the actors as well as the costumes.

Nikkelz

Hes already reacted to arcane you can find S1 & 2 here

Golden Witch Beatrice

17:12 saying this when it’s NIXON giving the speech is fucking funny I just KNOW Luke doesn’t realize that it’s Nixon😂😂😂

Nate Ming

I always forget that Charles Gray is in this! He played Bond villain Ernst Blofeld exactly one (1) time, in Diamonds are Forever

Patrick Jacobsen

the fact that this was Tim Currys first film just shows, how talented an actor he was. that man had an unmatched charisma.

Alysia Hinchee

You absolutely should watch FernGully! His performance of Toxic Love is absolutely amazing

Willow

This was a wonderful reaction! My friend and I were so excited to see it pop up and made time to watch it together. For recommendations: Little Shop of Horrors, Ferngully (for the Tim Curry of it all)

Mark Gray

I've seen Forbidden Planet!

Mark Rigby-Jones

I was introduced to Rocky Horror at a shockingly young age and have loved it ever since. If you can find a showing of the movie with a floor show (live actors playing out the scenes on stage in front of the screen) then I can't recommend that enough – there's a whole audience participation script as well! Or, of course, there's the original stage show which still tours regularly. For more Tim Curry, he's fantastic in the movie Clue (an adaptation of the board game Cluedo, an iconic film in its own right) and for more of his singing he was the original King Arthur in the Broadway musical Spamalot (an adaptation of Monty Python and the Holy Grail.)

SeeJay

It started as a "Broadway" show called the Rocky Horror Show. The "picture" part in the title specifically applies only to the movie. I've seen it on stage a couple of times and it's f*ckin hilarious watching it live. There is so much audience participation, but even if you aren't into that, you can listen and watch the rest of it and it's so immersive and fun. I highly recommend it.

Taraster33

It's pretty obvious when "that" character is introduced.

Jacowab

its a good thing Luke is watching this before that one arc of that one anime, now he will get the reference when he gets there, IYKYK.

Tessara Dudley

A lot of queer people—including me—have been able to use this film and the showings to build wonderful communities. Most queer and trans folks I know love this movie. I haven’t met a single trans person who told me they found this film transmisogynistic. It was unabashedly queer at a time that LGBTQ+ people were demonized in the media. This film came out a mere two (2!) years after the American Psychiatric Association stopped classifying ‘homosexuality’ as a mental illness in the diagnostic manual. Leave Luke alone, and stop attacking him just for watching something we asked him to watch. You don’t speak for us, and I’m personally glad he got to experience this iconic film.

Tessara Dudley

*Coraline (in case he wants to look it up)

Tessara Dudley

Absolutely, Little Shop of Horrors!!

Sage Nash

Also another one that started as a stage musical 🧡 It has that similar feel

Tessara Dudley

It started as a Broadway show, and Tim Curry played Frank N Furter for in it a couple years, before then playing him in the film! And it was his first film role, too! Edit: even when I watch this film by myself, I tend to do some of the audience callbacks out of habut, and I had to pause and cackle at 22:57 when you said “dun dun DUNNNN” literally half a beat after me! 🤣🤣 You’ve got good instincts!! Yes, the Madison is a dance. 36:58 I am so amused by how sure you are that the rating isn’t earned at this point in the film, lol. Just wait, friend, we’ll get there... Another commenter talked about how they use costuming to make the actors comfortable and prevent accidental slips or unwanted contact, but you also have to remember: they do the same scene several times, surrounded by sound techs and camera operators and PAs and other actors and the director, and they’re keeping in mind how to angle themselves in the right way so it looks right for the audience, and remembering any lines they have to say, and their blocking (the movements dictated by the script), and so on—it’s truly not very sexy, especially by the fifth take (or fifteenth). Speaking of horny aliens, I also recommend the incredibly cheesy, but funny film Earth Girls Are Easy! Very weird, but fun.

Stephanie Hootman

Pretty pretty pretty please react to the proshot of the Hadestown musical. No one is reacting to it cause I'm sure it's a copyright nightmare but it's amazing. Fantastic vocals, a plot that takes your breath away. It's amazing.

Tessara Dudley

The painting is Whistler’s Mother, I believe, it is a famous painting, yeah. Also, the scene at the wedding with Columbia and Riff Raff holding a pitchfork is framed like the painting American Gothic.

Tessara Dudley

RKO is a tv/stage/film production company that’s been around since the 20s; they were big during the Golden Age of film. Frank’s opening line during the floor show references one of their films: the 1933 King Kong, which is absolutely iconic in film history.

Tessara Dudley

When you watched Sweet Trasvestite on YouTube, and others in the comments were suggesting the entire film, I had an inkling the closing scenes would make you cry. I’m Going Home is actually a really beautiful song (though my favorite two songs are actually Super Heroes, the song after the house launches, and a cut song by Brad called Once In A While. You should totally check out Once In A While, I think you’d really like it.) Edit: you’ve watched the theatrical version, which does not include Super Heroes, and I recommend listening to it as well. Should be on YouTube.

Tessara Dudley

I think the films Repo! The Genetic Opera, The Devil’s Carnival, and Alleluia! The Devil’s Carnival really live in the same kind of campy weirdness that Rocky brings, and I think you might like them! But be warned: they’re more gory, especially Repo.

aleayarae_9794

Have you seen Meet the Robinsons? An amazing movie, that often gets overlooked and is under appreciated. Please watch!!

IAmABacon

I'm surprised you only vaguely remember Time Warp. Long before I seen this film, Im sure that song had played during so many parties, especially weddings. I assumed it was a common UK party thing to play that.

Anika

This the version with the last song cut out. Look up the song called Superheroes.

Rebecca Smith

You also need to watch the sequel to Rocky horror. It does not have Tim Curry, but it does have Magenta, Riffraff, Brad and Janet. Called Shock Treatment. Not as bizarre, but it’s really good. If you want additional Tim Curry recommendations, I suggest Oscar and Clue. Also, for some giggles and your kids might like it, Fern Gully. That one also has Robin Williams as well as Tim Curry.

Rebecca Smith

I’ve gone to see the movie in theaters numerous times and it’s such a unique experience because you have all that participation. I’ve never seen the actual Broadway show but seeing it in the theaters with actors and everything is pretty awesome.lol

templeofthegods .

Clue is brilliant, its one of my favourite movies, and Tim is hilarious in it .... but if you want to see Tim Curry's range then you have to watch "Legend" from 1985. Its also got a very young Tom Cruise in it. 🤩

templeofthegods .

Why did you cut out most of the final song "Superhero's" ?

QU33NDR4G0N

If you want another movie with Tim Curry singing, FernGully has always been a favorite! Toxic Love is the song he sings, if you just want to check out a song. It also has Robin Williams in it too.

QU33NDR4G0N

To answer the movie watch along question. Rocky would often be shown in theaters that had a small stage in front of the screen for late night showings and there would be actors playing out the scenes and scene interactions during the movie(the shadow cast). The audience would dress up too, sing along and participate in the call backs. Bring/ use props like newspaper, toilet paper and such. It was an absolute blast! You didn't just watch Rocky Horror, you experienced it. Sorry about the long answer.

Yp

20th Century Fox presents... a really shitty piano player...

sheralee webb

My phone says this when I plug it in to charge 😂

sheralee webb

I watched this in the palace theatre in Manchester years ago. Everyone was dressed up as different characters, everyone sang and danced throughout, it was amazing! I’m a big fan of all these cult classics, little shop of horrors is amazing too, Labyrinth with David Bowie and Repo The Genetic opera with Anthony Stewart Head (RIP 😢) can’t beat them. I don’t know why this is an 18…you’ll get there, don’t forget, this was 1975 😂 I also can’t believe you’ve never done the time warp lol

Marie Claire Garnier

If we're talking about movies in which recently passed icons appear then some Dolly Parton "Best Little Whorehouse in Texas" is a must too

Ken Passfield

I don't know if you've already seen it but going to the other end of the Tim Curry Musical line would be Annie with Carol Burnett and Bernadette Peters (1982)

Soquel Mack

Gotta recommend little shop of horrors both endings and Repo the genetic opera or by the same creator the devils carnival

Marie Claire Garnier

That said you have not truly experienced this movie unless you go to a midnight showing with audience participation

Muhammad Waliyy

Late to the party but just wanted to add my vote for 'Clue' (1985), and 'Little Shop of Horrors' (Directors cut) (1986). Also, your reaction to 'I'm Going Home' was very valid. Thank you for sharing your precious time and energy with us all; rest assured, you are very much appreciated. Much love, best wishes, peace and respect to you and your loved ones.

Tasia Hooper

I just came here to say this!!!! I think he will love it!!!!

David Stowe

Honestly, my favorite song Tim curry has done was on Muppet Treasure Island

Tasia Hooper

The movie still stands today as a true piece of midnight cinema entertainment. In all the decades since I first saw it when I was 18, am 66 now, I’ve yet to see anyone in my LGBTQIA community protesting theaters for showing it, or protesting people. People who still dress up as characters or people who literally bring paper garbage bags full of props to interact with the film. From newspapers, squirt guns, pieces of toast……

Luna

Awesome reaction sir 👏🏽! Tim Curry is definitely a goat, R.I.P. Please consider reacting to Tim Curry’s depiction of ‘Darkness’ in 1985’s “Legend” (the tangerine dream version) … It’s a dark fantasy adventure film which is a lot of fun. Also Tim Curry’s voice work in 1992’s “Ferngully: The Last Rainforest” as ‘Hexxus’ is fantastic (& this film also stars another goat … the beloved Robin Williams as ‘Batty’).

2026-09-19 14:00 Rocky has always had major audience participation. Midnight Shows, people dressed as RHPC characters. Sometimes a whole cast will act out the movie down front. Once, I saw two casts left & right, playing off each other, topping the other over & over! Insane Fun! Audience members shout specific, traditional callback lines during dramatic pauses. Audience participation props are used during specific moments in the movie or stage production. Participants should pack a 'Prop Bag' and know When to Use Them • Rice / Bubbles: Throw rice (or blow bubbles) during the opening wedding scene when the newlyweds exit the church. (Note: Many modern theaters ban rice and replace it with bubbles, unpopped popcorn, or confetti). • Newspaper: Cover your head with a newspaper when Brad and Janet are caught in the rainstorm. • Water Pistols / Spray Bottle: Use small water spray bottles or squirt guns to simulate the rainstorm with Brad and Janet. (Always spray toward the screen or ceiling, never at other people). • Candles / Flashlights / Glow Sticks: Light up the theater during the line "There's a light..." in the song "Over at the Frankenstein Place". • Rubber Gloves: Snap your rubber gloves in sync when Dr. Frank-N-Furter snaps his gloves during and after the creation speech. • Noisemakers: Use party horns or clickers to celebrate and make noise right after the creation speech. • Toilet Paper: Throw rolls of toilet paper into the air when Brad yells "Great Scott!" as Dr. Scott bursts through the lab wall. • Toast: Toss a slice of toast into the air when Frank-N-Furter proposes a toast ("A toast!") at dinner. • Party Hats: Put on a small paper party hat when the characters put theirs on for Rocky's birthday. • Playing Cards: Throw playing cards when Frank sings the line "cards for sorrow, cards for pain". • Bell: Ring a small handbell when Frank asks "Did you hear a bell ring?" during "Planet Schmanet Janet". Classic Character Callbacks • Brad Majors: Whenever Brad appears or is named, the audience shouts "Asshole!" • Janet Weiss: Whenever Janet appears or is named, the crowd shouts "Slut!" • The Narrator (Criminologist): Whenever the narrator appears, viewers yell phrases like "He's got no f'ing neck!" or "A chicken stepped on this man's forehead." • Dr. Scott: Whenever Dr. Scott enters the lab and Brad yells "Great Scott!", the audience responds by shouting "Kiss Ass!" or throwing toilet paper. Iconic Line Responses • "It's like a..." / "...picnic": When the narrator says "It's going to be...", the audience yells "A picnic?" When he replies "no picnic," they shout "Oh, no, I already made the potato salad!" • "Janet, I'm coming with you": The crowd responds with "That'll be a first!" • Lighting cues: When Janet is shown in a pink light, people shout "Pink is for girls!" , followed by Brad in a blue light with "Blue is for aholes!"** Song and Opening Callouts • "Science Fiction/Double Feature": During the opening song, when the line "And Flash Gordon was there" plays, the audience frequently yells back "They were gold!" • "There's a Light": During the song, fans shine flashlights and wave glow sticks while shouting extra prompts. • "Time Warp": When the lyrics reach the chorus, the crowd shouts "Let's do the Time Warp again!" while doing the physical dance moves in the aisles.

2026-09-19 15:00 "I don't know why this movie was an 18?" Even if you're ok with the language. Maybe the violent murder of Eddie & "rock n' roll porn", 3x sex scenes, multiple nipples sticking out.

It Was Jessica Fletcher

20th Century fox insisted that at least Brad&Janet were played by Americans, only them and Meatloaf. The rest is the original stage cast from London. I'm surprised you didn't recognise Christopher Biggins. He's so recognisable!

It Was Jessica Fletcher

The couple in front of the church, is a famous painting called "American Gothic"

It Was Jessica Fletcher

Do they have castles in US? No 😲 Although SET in America it was filmed in Bray film studios(where the hammer house films were also shot, so they reused the tank&mummy https://recycledmoviecostumes.com/costume/props021/ The castle was Oakley Court, in Maidenhead with the "church" being a flimsy wooden structure that they built just opposite the castle!

It Was Jessica Fletcher

Before it was a Broadway show it was in London!!! Do you think that many English people, including Christopher Biggins, would audition for a Broadway musical???

Tessara Dudley

Sorry, yes, I meant a stage musical.

It Was Jessica Fletcher

No, however it's true that the first people in front of a movie screen shouting at the audience was Broadway. …But it was originally a stage musical upstairs in the Royal court theatre in London 1973 to 63 people per night. Then on tour to Australia & *then* America. Then 20th Century Fox picked it up and it was filmed in England. …but the movie was first shown in America where it wasn't a success until they started shouting at the audience.

Erica Gamet

I thought for a moment he was watching the original theatrical version without Superheroes... but then the credits had the music that goes with the Superheroes version.

Erica Gamet

Imagine being a 17-year-old person just figuring out they were queer in the mid-80s, while living in Suburbia USA... then going with a friend to see this. It was like I had found my people and my home! I played Frank for 4 years, made lasting friendships (heck, my bestie who played Janet met her 1st husband who is the father of her two children)... this movie was so out there, but we didn't analyze it like people watching it now, do. That's not a complaint... just that we went with the flow. When you'd ask "Why XXXX..." I would just answer you, "Yes." Haha. Thanks for reacting. I was doing great until Tim started with I'm Going Home and then you cried and then I was a mess!!

Kelly Golke

When I was in high school drama club, the whole cast and crew would gather back stage after every show and do The Timewarp. It was a tradition that’s past down year after year. It was so fun!!

B3thbakes

I always thought the double feature was because this movie ran longer than a regular screening, but I could 100% be wrong!

B3thbakes

Going to the stage shows.. people would take kitkats.. and throw them when the car scene was playing.. they took bubbles, lighters and news papers to join in with the show. I 100% suggest you watch one! Your Mrs will love it! But you guys have to dress up as a character (if you dont.. you will be the odd one out..) and show us pictures! I went to one in Truro a very long time ago! Im looking to go again at some point.. I'll let you know when the big show is going to be showing again!

B3thbakes

The wedding car: "wait till tonight.. she got hers.. now he'll get his" 🤣🤣🤣🤣

B3thbakes

I cant wait to go from the "ahh I love Susan Surandon" to the "Ive just seen Susan's nipple!!!" 🤣🤣🤣

B3thbakes

Waiting to see how long it takes to recognise the time warp 🤣

B3thbakes

You will have heard this at weddings and discos 100% at the end, played with the songs like the macarena

B3thbakes

He is/was an incredible man! Its a movie that cant be explained in anyway that does it justice! 100% my favourite movie of all time since I was a teenager!

AdamLovesMusic

Sad it’s the version without super heroes! Great reaction though

StickyKeys

Luke, have you done Dreamgirls yet?

Kimberly Tenneson

Ok, I've always loved this movie & it's cast but you're 100% accurate! Hearing the song, 'I'm Coming Home' after Tim Curry's passing DEFINITELY hits different, now! 😭 I have never cried during this movie,... Until today. #RIPTimCurry

Shel B

The movie is great, but the real experience is seeing it with full audience participation now that you're familiar with it. Highly recommended!

Phillippa Rykala

I just joined your patreon after watching the first 5 minutes of you reacting to this on you tube 🤣🤣 There is a touring company that goes around the UK theatres doing the live show and it is bloody awesome. Seen it several times in Bristol and Cardiff, it's well worth going to see next time they are touring, last tour had of all people jason Donovan as Frank which I wish I had seen!!! I'm sure there will be lots of species screenings if the film this Halloween because of Tim passing, and they are just as much fun! At both loads of people dress up like cast members (I have myself on several occasions) and lots and lots of audience partici.........pation The show was written by Richard O'brien who plays riff raff he also starred in and conceived the UK tv game show the Crystal Maze. If you ever watched it and thought "man, this bald dude, running around a castle, yelling to his mummy is a bit odd " that was Richard 🤣🤣 I think he has a rather unique mind!

Question: How come this movie isn't listed in your collection of movie reactions? I had to do a web search to find it, because I seacrhec your Patreon & everything—couldn't find it.

Nope. It means two different movies back to back. Very common on drive-in screens.

Luke, did you get all your questions answered? Like did someone explain the lyrics about ’in just seven days I can make you a man"? All of us boomers know that reference immediately. =grin=

Being gay, even being straight and doing fellatio, was illegal in my home state of Texas until well after the movie was released.

If you want to watch something as wild and funny as The Rocky Horror Picture Show and with an exceptional Tim Curry (and cast) in it, I hugely recommend Spamalot. Unfortunately, I was only able to find a full recording from the audience on YouTube. The quality is not superb, but it can be enjoyed without problem. I think it's the only full recording out there!

"What's the Time Warp?" Luke, he *just* told you. It's just a jump to the left, and then a step to the right...
