"Boring. Aren't there any stronger heroes around?" genuinely haunts me, imagine how horrific it would be to hear that after the greatest hero retires, the one against whom no evil could stand. The new number one has just been crowned, but the world doesn't feel safe and standards are slipping, then a villain shows up, causes massive damage, and sits atop the hollow 'Number 1' and calls them weak. Even towards the end of the series I still remembered that quote.

This fight was perfect for Endeavour, he basically fought himself, fought all of his horrible qualities, and won. Having this fight right after the school festival, is incredible writing. Something to remember Luke one for all is constantly getting stronger all these years of being passed on. 100% for the first user could be equivalent to 5% of what deku has now. The previous users had far less power to manage than what deku has now.

CINEMA - Endeavour finds himself in an unenviable situation, and he handles it amazingly well. In my opinion, he and his story are worthy of a main protagonist.

its so poetic the way he talks about the nomu being like how he was in the past, so obsessed with strength and stuff, then burning it up, the episode name being his start. his start, a new beginning.

Things will make sense as the series goes on. Just remember the 1st season: "One for All is the crystallization of power, it accumulates from one user to another" So All Might's 100% was stronger than his masters, but weaker in potential then Deku's if he can use it like him.

I watched all MHA, and i forgot how really good it is all along. Season 5 is the most controversal, if I remember, so I'll wait to watch it again to confirm, but I already know S6, 7 & 8 are amazing, so I can now tell MHA deserves more recognition that it seems to have.

The screen dimming that happens anytime anime characters use certain moves. Sometimes there is also just parts edited out of the streamed version that are put back in the blu-ray version. Besides it making the fights look worse, it really just ruins the immersion.

Heavily censored and reduced fighting scenes, with their VFX dialed down to avoid another Porygon situation. If I recall correctly, they had an episode with super fast flashing background going red-blue-white over and over, which led many kids having a seizure

You can really tell how reflective Endeavor has become when he called the Nomu himself, someone obsessed with power. It doesn't redeem him for all he's down but it is a good first step. Also shoutout to Aizawa for racing off to check on Todoroki the moment he saw Endeavor fighting for his life. He's such a dad. Sigh, and here comes season 5, my personal least favorite season of the anime. Not because of the story, but because of how they adapted the arcs in it. Cut scenes, rearranged arcs, multiple recaps, it was such a letdown for a manga reader like me. I'm sure Luke will still enjoy it but it's such a speed bump on a good anime.

It wasn’t that deep. Especially since the Nomu died and Endeavor was holding back trying to capture it alive for most of the fight. If he tried to kill it immediately without worrying about the surrounding people and buildings as well that Nomu is getting neg diffed.

Remember that Endeavors quirk has the ability to endure heat and fire better than most but he can still go too far, overheat and burn up - his original goal with his children was to find one who could overcome that heating issue, thus Shoto being a perfect split of fire and ice. Endeavor himself does not have that split - he can burn up, he can go too far, and that fight took him just to the edge of his bodies limits; any further and that final Prominence Burn very likely would have destroyed his own body.

I think Deku was the first one to recieve it as a kid. Most others had quirk and were adults. That may be why Deku has to slowly build the power.

Pokémon had an episode that caused a lot of people to have seizures because of the amount of flashing lights it had, ever since then animes have dimmed the screen during flashy scenes

All Might was basically the same as Deku. He was a Quirkless kid who got OFA before attending UA, but he was able to use the power immediately. The main differences were that All Might was already naturally strong/athletic (Deku had to train just to be able to take on the power), and the version of OFA that Deku inherited was stronger than when All Might got it.

MHA as a series deserves so much credit for this episode; like you said, the fact you can root so hard for ENDEAVOUR of all people is damn fine character writing. And as badass as he was, Hawks' support game was so on point it's insane.

The movie came out also almost 1,5 years before season 5 started, so many would have watched it before season 5. Personally we could have just had it on this Fridays movie slot and continua to season 5 on Saturday.

Endeavor was no wear near to the school so that is why he didn't rush out to try to help. Roughly estimating the locations the distance between them was around 750 km (or 460 miles for your "correct" units). By car it would take around 11 hrs and with fastest trains it would take 5,5 hrs. Even with private plain ready to go it would take you over 1,5 hrs just in flight time.

You can watch the movie either after season 4 or after season 5 episode 13 i think it is, it's up to you. Then the 3rd is after season 5 I believe. Love endeavour btw.

Might seem close timing to watch two movies but S5 was held off for 2 years so the placement in timing of movie watch time to anime is a bit loopy

This is why I will always defend the school festival arc. If we'd gone from Overhaul straight to this fight, this wouldn't have been even remotely as impactful. It's because we had that down time and dropped our guard and thought 'things are going back to normal' that this was able to hit so hard.

There is another problem as well, other than the one line. Spoiler: Todoroki and Bakugou wouldn't be allowed to take part in that movie because they don't have the license. I always wondered about that back then. So for it to not be confusing, we should watch it mid-season. Since we're watching it after everything is released, we can follow the proper timeline. I don't see a problem with waiting a little longer, so it's not confusing for him to watch.
