A few people reported issues with haptics not working anymore on their Quest 3 after a recent Meta update. I tried a few different approaches and one of them apparently worked. This update includes the fix for that, and a few other changes. These are the current features of ReHaptics:

🥽 haptic feedback on both oculus mode and steam vr

👋🏻 haptic feedback intensity changes based on the force of the touch (the min & max sliders in the UI control the range)

🧍 it works automatically with VAM Posession too, so you can have custom bodies for more immersion

💾 settings will autosave now, to make things simpler to use

🖐 rehaptics also introduces to vam the option to change your VR hands size, for more personalization and immersion. Without rehaptics, the VR hands are locked to the default size.

HOW TO USE

  • load the plugin in the var as a session plugin.

  • after loading it for the very first time, you might need to reload the plugin to make sure it's working properly.

If it doesn't work for you or you get errors, let me know.

It runs very well, and the haptic feedback intensity changes makes me feel immersed!

I'm happy that it works now. Thank you again for reporting the issue and helping with testing. Your suggestions were very helpful too. I looked into triggering different motors after you suggested the idea and I think something like that can be achieved by altering the frequencies of the vibrations. I have already the code for different parts of the fingers, it's in Rehaptics 8 too. Rehaptics can differentiate between the tip of the finger and lower parts of the fingers easily. So I plan to try something like what you suggested in one of the next updates.
