FYI, by watching an unofficial release of this film that did not include the Elvish translations on screen, you missed out on a lot of Elvish conversations. I would recommend a re-watch from an official release.

One of my favorite details about the production of this film was that Viggo Mortensen really did have to deflect the dagger thrown at him toward the end of the movie. The original plan for the scene was to have Lawrence Makoare (who played Lurtz, the captain of the Uruk-hai who shoots Boromir) pretend to throw the dagger but hold onto it on the follow-through, then add a flying "dagger" with CGI in post. However, Lawrence (like all the Uruks) was wearing glove-like prosthetics to make his hands look bigger than they really were. The gloves themselves were made of a somewhat slick material and Lawrence didn't realize how wet with fake blood they had become. When he threw the dagger, it accidentally slipped out of his grasp for real and flew at Viggo. Had his reflexes not been excellent, Viggo might have been seriously harmed. These sorts of accident cuts almost always made their way into the final films because Peter Jackson disliked letting real danger or injuries be for nothing.

Let's freaking go!!!!!!

Raden

Best film trilogy of all time, cant wait to watch the reactions

PapaXan

Just FYI, the Hobbit series are prequels to this trilogy. They follow Bilbo's adventures that are mentioned here and there in this trilogy.

okay, you asked a lot about where this was filmed. it was filmed entirely in new zealand, and all three films were filmed back to back. so all the actors flew and lived together in new zealand for a few months while they filmed all 3 movies all together in one go. Sean Bean (Ned Stark/Boromir) hated helicopters, so he would literally trek up mountains and everywhere else for hours in his full costume to film lol

Recommend getting a version with subtitles for at least elvish when watching The Two Towers and Return of The King, much of the information comes there, especially in the extended versions.

Sorry not sorry

Hi guys, would you please consider reacting to "Greyhound" starring Tom Hanks? It's a ww2 movie from the Navy's perspective, it's very well done.

Andreas Grevin

Great reaction, i would also recommend getting a version with subtitles for the elvish parts for the next couple of movies.

Daniel P Omes

Gotta watch John wick 3, then the 2 sequels to Lord of the Rings.

original star wars trilogy is better, lord of the rings is great but overhyped

Smellwell

I watched this movie for the first time alongside you guys. I thought it was going to be boring and predictable, but it was phenomenal. And the special effects were good considering when it was released.

All the details in the Extended Editions make you feel alllll you need to feel, it immerses you deeply into it.
