It always blows my mind how many pieces of the puzzle they actually give you.

Sean Carroll

yes the basement is still the main objective. They havent been able to talk about it because they were dealing with the female titan and then the whole reiner and bertholdt incident in seaosn 2 happened. Since seaosn 2 they have been training eren to learn the hardening ability so he can block wall marias hole from the first episode and once that is done titans cant come through anymore which will give them time to find whats in the basement. They have been holding off from going to wall maria because eren needs to learn how to harden first, its impossible for them all to travel there with a giant rock like eren carried in seaosn 1

Sean Carroll

not to mention erwin is desperate to prove his fathers theory correct and he believes the basement holds that information so while its in the background it is definitely the main objective

Attack on Titan world logic is surprisingly straight forward. Just think about how titans work based on what you know so far. HAHAHAAHHAHAHA ugh I can't wait for future reactions. I have personal favourite moments and I'm just so excited to see how you'll react to them, you guys have been lovely so far.
