Flashback! The woman we know as Mecha-chan is bored with life, so she joins the Orbital Corps' infantry, knowing that it's dangerous and she could lose her limbs or die.

Continuing with the flashback, she is horribly injured, but worry not; we can rebuild her as Mecha-chan. Her greatest fear was not being able to sing again², so she's very insistent that she have her voice again._¹I still haven't decided if I like this name or not. Taking suggestions in the comments. I'm considering "How to Build A Mecha-Girl" and "Girly-pop to Build Your Mecha To," but I'm not sold on either of them.²I think I mentioned something like this in an early draft of IWBMI, but it didn't make it in. When I write the reprise, I might use that early draft as like 80% of the final product.
