once I get to like 98% completion with a song, right about the polishing phase, I start to hate it.

Okay, serious question: is sad-girl Charli annoying? I do this almost every night without fail. But I'm really like this and it's my process. But is it annoying? Am I annoying? Should I keep these things to myself and just post when I have the song complete and I'm happy with it? Tell me.

I wonder if you're just being too hard on yourself sometimes. You know, The whole "artistic fallacy" thing? You're always going to hear the flaws more than any of us ever will, after all. So take it easy on yourself, sometimes, okay? I don't think you've put something out there I haven't enjoyed yet, and yes, that includes the multiple rewrites/complete overhauls/scrapping entire songs, etc.

I like it! And maybe it's just me, maybe I'm the crazy one. But I do really like it. Hell, I even really liked Burlington. I think that, you as the artist, are your own worst enemy. Just as I am with writing, or photography, or whatever other creative ventures I happen to try. And Sad-Girl Charli isn't annoying, by any means. Remember when many of us said we came here and stayed because we liked seeing the process? Well, this is part of the process, too, and we're still here! I promise you, we want to see things like this. We want to see the human side of Charli, too. 🍪🍪🤍

We're all painfully human! And maybe that's why we like the idea of Mecha's so much? But idk, that's deep stuff, and I'm too tired to go into that one. But as long as you're feeling a little bit better, I'm happy 😊

Speaking from experience, hyper conscious perfectionism is a hell of a double edged sword. You can do fantastic work with it, but it can be terribly maddening sometimes. You're doing fantastic work. Don't beat yourself up about it too much while you're getting it to where you're happy with it.
