Okay, so it's a song about loving America and all of its campy goofyness, but also wishing that we could, like, not be awful sometimes. America, I love you, but you're freaking me out is a really good song._[Verse]?[Pre-chorus]?[Chorus]Cuz I love bald eagles and guns and the FourthAnd I've got a truck up here in the northI love to grill and spend time by the fireI just kinda wish I din’t have to be spiteful[Post-chorus]?[Outro]"'Merica I love you but you're freaking me out"That's not my line but I'll sing it out loudCuz all of these things that I hold oh so dearlyCould be much much betterIf we could see clearly

Let me stew on this one, cuz right now, it's sounding a lot like Breakaway (Kelly Clarkson) in my head, and I am not loving that.

Does my brain deceive me, or is there going to be a bit of a twang in the vocals? I can see this working out really well.

PartTime13adass

This seems like it was pulled directly out of my head.

Charli Morgan

I didn't think you would notice. Mind if I keep it???

Charli Morgan

Oh, yeah, no. There might be entirely too much.

Charli Morgan

I'll try, but 80% chance this doesn't go anywhere, so don't expect too much from me 😞

Celes ~{ 🍪🖤🐈 }~

No such thing. Orbital Artillery is the song that cemented you firmly in the top spot of my favorite musical artist.

PartTime13adass

Sure. I wasn't using it for anything, anyway xD

I want to make a masterpiece. Make I need to start over from scratch with some of these other songs but idk. It's really hard to do the same thing over, even if it's not exactly the same.

G.C. Day 🍩

I've started books over from scratch 2-3 times, I definitely get it. I feel the same way. Sometimes perfect doesn't exist though, I'm always trying to find my realistic perfect.

Charli Morgan

This is so true. There has to be a limit on how much effort I can put into a song and I'm a bit of a perfectionist and tinkerer by nature, so I want every moment of a song to be perfect, but I do everything on my own. I don't have a team. It's just me, here. I need to know when a song is good enough. I mean, this ain't the military so an 80% solution is *not* good enough, but what about a 95% solution? I don't know what that number is, but I know it's less than 100%. Just...how much less? Will spending 96% of my time fussing over 4% of a song actually make it perform better? Arguably, no it won't. Three of my top songs are absolutely unpolished, 80% "this is good enough for government work" pieces that were horribly flawed, yet most people did not care. And so often, I'll post a WIP and nobody comments on a specific tone that only I, apparently, can hear. Granted, my headphones are better than most people have (mid-grade audiophile stuff), but I hear these sounds on my phone, too. And then nobody heard them and I'm wondering why not.

I listen to a lot of music, but I'm very much not technical about my listening experience, if the vibe hits for me that's it, I'm in. I can definitely relate though, I 100% notice stuff like that in writing and movies and I hate when I notice stuff others don't. I want to just have that oblivious enjoyment lol

Charli Morgan

Knowing things ruins immersion. It really is better to be oblivious, sometimes.
