Conclusion: my brain is fried, not broken. I released one song a week for like three months or something. That is an extreme creative sprint. What I am feeling right now is not a reduction in talent, but bad calibration. I am not less capable; my standards changed and the dopamine dried up because my reward system is tied to finishing songs, and I went too long without finishing any songs. I am not bad; I am overfamiliar with my own patterns. I need to drastically reduce how much effort I'm putting into this until novelty returns or I'm gonna burn out.

Please be patient while this happens. It could be a few days. It could be several weeks. Even months would be within the realm of normal for most arty-types.

Thank you for your love and patience.

the art is still qued up so it's not like I'm giving y'all nothing. the poetry is likely to continue as well. it's mostly the music that's really taxing me right now.

Take all the time you need, wellness comes first in all forms

It makes me happy that you realized this. It can be hard to switch directions but staying in one lane for too long can really drain creativity. For most musicians they go on tour, do a few collaborative cover songs with their friends, take a vacation. For me I took a few months off of daily development of my software and wrote a book. Now I'm back at the software and kicking considerable ass. In a few weeks I'll be back to writing. 7 months of software development every single day was not good for me and it was only after completely decompressing that I was able to get back to actually creatively working again. Obviously very different forms of creativity but we can both learn from each other I think. I know you have taught me a lot in my short time in this community and even more through your songs. Your Spider song came on the other day and it dragged me out of a depression spiral. Just yeah... Take care of yourself. Recover, spend time with your family, dump your creative energies into something other than music, and come back with a fresh perspective. And until then we will enjoy the artwork and whatever else you want to share. Keep kicking ass and fighting the good fight punky girl!

As with many things rest is much easier than recovery. Take some time to rest and you will find it easier to come back.

our world seems designed to burn us all out. take whatever time you need, your adoring fans will be here when you've given yourself ample room to hear the muses

There are tons of artists/musicians who go much longer in between releases. You cranked out so much so quickly. The same brain that created those songs is still there, take the time you need and take care of it!

I know that, like, in my smart brain. conceptually, I mean. but I'm always trying to outdo myself. to be better than I was. And of course the muses strike not a few hours before this comment, when I was sick and needed sleep. but that's how it be. they come when they come and I am a slave to them.

Yeah, I feel that struggle between smart brain and the other brain. A bunch of us could say what your smart brain knows and it can still claw at you and worry. But I'm glad the muses hit!
