Good evening Patrons.  So it's day 8 on the Dungeons and Dragons cartoon. And I've finished about 15 out of 25 minutes.

The remaining 10 minutes I'm somewhat struggling with, as these were the areas where the action bogged down a bit. With semi-frequent rule re-explanations and everybody taking 5 minutes to complete their turn. I need to try and focus on that to make it fit with the rest.

While my focus is primarily on audio cutting, what I'm also doing at the same time is making a crudely animated cartoon to go alongside it that looks like someone a child made in MS Paint. The intention here is purely pre-visualization. So when I hand it over to a cartoonist somewhere they'll have an idea of what I had imagined. I'll also include lots of annotated notes to assist the animator.

Spoiler alert, this is that crude cartoon for the first couple of minutes. Some of you may wish to wait until the cartoon is done properly. It's up to you: https://youtu.be/w5rmYCrV3VM

This project is a lot of fun actually! Rather than tedious animating words, I'm having a laugh drawing all the individual characters performing their silly actions, fighting goblins, adding foley, that sort of thing. At the going rate, by the end of the week I'll probably be 22-23 minutes done. And next week I'll be focusing entirely on polish, annotations and general pacing.

As always, thank you very much for your continued Patreon support, while I doodle like a five year old.

Oh, I've also been talking to some other Youtubers as possible voice extras. That could be a laugh.

Tbh the shitty drawings are quite appealing

The shitty drawings are very charming, worth keeping when you're done imo.

This is looking/sounding quite promising, well done & I reckon the drawings are quite cute, simplicity works well. Keep up the fantastic work. Good luck with the next lot of challenges. 👍🏽😆

Just what everybody else said, the drawing at this moment do fit the weird tale that you are telling. Maybe take another 2 weeks, after you have you audio done, and maybe add a couple of silly little background details and i think this can be a really nice way to present this story. Not sure if the "style" of ZF and the way you played this game need a more extreme way in presenting it. The whole feeling while listening to the audio is this laid back, who the hell cares, let's take the piss out of this feeling, that need to be reflected into the visuals as well. I think the chosen form atm (simple, cute but effective) is what you need. Not sure if a more solid version of animation, 2D, 3D of whatever form you looking for, is enhancing the whole story. Because it is the story you guys present and that is the reason we watch, like and subscribe to this nonsense. TL:DR Dont change the art form, it good and fits the bill. Cheers, and good luck with the anime XCOM

The rudimentary animation is brilliant. 2 final versions maybe? Once super fancy and one childish scribbles? I also love that you inadvertently became the voice of the internet.

That art "style" is absolutely hilarious with the video, not even joking. It will be interesting to see how ti turns out

I'm just wondering, once the editing is done on your end and it is up to the animator, what sort of time frame are we looking at for the release? And if that time frame is quite long, with there be content during the meantime on your channel?

Zovvi

I don't love the art...BUT I think it does fit nicely with everything your channel "represents." Love how it fits with the nature of your videos. Profesional is nice but at the same time don't have them go above and beyond what you currently have. I would say they should make it finer but not over do it. If you get what I mean. Just some thoughts from a person of non importance. :)

This is nothing of what I pictured but everything I wanted. Fantastic and glad you're having fun!
