Hoorah, I can log in again. For some reason last night I couldn't post anything.

The next update for you all: This week I've started something radically different from what you're used to. But hopefully still very amusing.

A few weeks ago the ZF clan played Dungeons and Dragons, pen and paper style, with Moogle acting as the Dungeon Master, narrating our adventure. We went into a goblin cave where silliness quickly ensued. We learnt that Waffle is a useless mage, Digby being "of noble birth" doesn't mean he's good at anything, and that Cyanide (as a thief) couldn't sneak up on a paper-bag.

I'd like to make a cartoon of this adventure.

So what I've been doing is break down the four hours of footage into about 45 minutes of useable audio. And then further trying to condense it down into roughly 10 minutes. And then, like an audio-book, I plan to add in the creature/environment/spell sound effects to make a complete episode in audio-form only (which I can then release here if you like?) to then be animated into a cartoon.

My plan is to recruit a third-party. An animation house somewhere. To do the visuals on commission. Though I'm not sure who yet, or what my budget would be. But I'm thinking of a 10 minute animation, not all that unlike the kind of thing from Battlefield friends.

Tell me your thoughts on that!

That sounds awesome! I think I remember watching that stream, and I can imagine it would be amazing having it animated, with like each of your ZF avatars? Pure. Gold.

Govert Versluis

I love it! A ZF animation feature sounds incredible. Lots of potential.

Andreas Eriksson

Sounds awesome! I wouldn't be surprised if there's a patron or sub that would love to do that and have the skills, for a low sum and their name at the end of it :)

Tango Alpha Roma Nova

This is fantastic 😁 I want to hear more 😊 Its a fresh change up, tho I am already impressed by your Bullshitteries & DayZ critiques. I could listen to you all day 👍🏽 Onwards & upwards kind sir 🍻

Mads

Sounds very interesting! You should go for it!

Shalom Craimer

Sounds good, but don't get hung up on super fancy animation - there's plenty of YouTube artists who use nothing much more complicated than clipart and stick figures (CGP Grey, GradeAUnderA, etc). Good luck!

Ting

This seems to be the evil twin brother of Critical Role, and I have exactly zero problem with that.

Wayne Hackney

Great idea, I've enjoyed similar videos to this in the past. I'd quite enjoy a low-res pixel art stylee rendition animated by you :D

Shawn Pitt

Yes!! CritRole, ZF style would be wonderful!!!

kenny_andrew

I like the idea and remember there being quite a few funny moments in the stream so I'd say it will work well. I'm curious if it'll be in the bullshittery style of cutting between jokes or will you try to have the clips in chronological order to include what the group was trying to accomplish in the quest?

Pudding Earl

My main thought is where could I find the full four hours? I'm a big fan of these sorts of shows, and quite frankly I'd love to just be able to watch the entire thing on demand. I feel as though a 10 minute video taking a few moments would feel like most RP stories. Amusing to the viewer, but not as amusing as it is to the person who did it, because they lack all the little bits of context and investment that makes the story so lovely to the teller.

Peter Bang

That sounds really neat, I would love to see that.

BLYATMAN

Look forward to seeing the end product

Bleakz

sounds really really nice, i like Battlefield friends(at least when it is actually battlefield), i hope this turns out good

While this is new I think that's perfect. You already have a good setup with your main 'brand'. Adding to it like this would be perfect. Just as long as the guys enjoy dnd, haha would hate for you to make this master piece and it be hard as hell to get them all in for another game.

Just another user

what class were you womble, also what ed are/were you guys playing. P.S. whoa the fact that you guys playing D&D is amazing, you can have a lot of content off that

Sugarplum Fairy

Honestly, this sounds like a great idea, go for it!

David Petersen

Sounds like it would be fantastic. I also would like to be able to listen to the full adventure. I caught a bit of it on stream, but not the full adventure.

Lennart Grabbe

As the others already said, I would like to hear/see this.. maybe more often in the future? ;) I play D&D with friends too and its quite fnny but the whole session not only parts of it as its mostly comedy based on the situation. So I would also like a full session version.. just the Audio though :) Would be perfect for travelling/listening while working I think.

Absont

This seems like a cool idea.

HankJMoody

This sounds completely different than anything you've done, and I can't wait! Best of luck!

ShamPowWow

I think it's a great idea, nice to change things up every now and a while, especially with something this different. I am very excited to see what happens.

Sillemot

I'm not sure if she can animate or if her work can be animated but my vote is BewBewDingo.

Mike Roibu

Not feeling this that much, sorry man.

2026-09-14 12:00 It will be great if you can get someone who can make the subtitles just 100% right, to spanish people who watch it, somethings in vids like that people get confused or maybe, but I think it could be great and funny! ;3 good luck with the project.

Holy shit I am so hyped. You will probably get quite a lot of shit from the vocal minority because "URR DURR WER IS MY BULLSHITTERY", but don't forget a vocal minority is still a minority. In the long run, diversifying your content is the key to making sure people don't lose interest in the videos you make (at least these are my observations).

Shandlar

10 minutes of animation is no joke my friend. It's a great idea, but the budget in your head and the reality of getting it done may be quite a bit different. It's a great idea towards expanding your content, though if you can make the math work. Looking forward to it.

Zovvi

I like this alot but I agree with Shandlar in that you may be over your head with animating it. You have a great idea of expanding your content! I love it! But do consider how much money and time you want to sink into this.

Jonas Schieben

Womble dude, thats absolutely briiliant!

Tuan Doyle

Releasing the 45 minute audio could be pretty good too imo

Rachemellie

So were you the leader? It's hilarious so far. Looking forward to the end result.

The Lady Loki

Oh boy, still not the worst D&D group I've seen.
