Phew, well this week has been a bit of a mountain. Culminating in working on that very hot weekend to get this one over the finish line. But I can finally say it's done. Folks I present to you Random Arma Bullshittery part 9 - https://youtu.be/c3pU0VqEFVs

Though of course this one has something of a twist to it, the feedback for which I'm eager to hear. Effectively most bullshitteries take the form of completely disconnected clips, pulled from a multitude of streams recorded (sometimes) months apart. But this one consists of 8-9 very deliberate and sequential streams that were done in May, in which ZF and various associates played the Antistasi Mod. The core conceit of which is where we play as a resistance group, fighting to expand a 'liberated territory' against a pre-selected occupation force. In this case the Russians.

This means that our group effectively needed to maintain in-game public support by running PR campaigns, civilian relief efforts, along with raiding supplies and stealing equipment, whilst being very careful not to attract attention to our rebel headquarters. And it also meant that heavy-assets in other Arma games (like on call air-support) are mostly unavailable to us.

Now functionally this means that a lot of the funny moments that occurred could only make sense in the context of this mod. Which explains this episodes length. If Digby and I are being silly with Incognito mode (basically disguising yourself as a civilian instead of a guerrilla) then it would only work in a video about Antistasi. Because regular Army grunts don't do that. It's just not part of regular Arma 3.

As a result, I had to decided whether to include the clip in here, or not at all, since the framing device is setup here. Which is why the length of the video kept creeping up. And therefore the total edit length.

In addition to this, there are also two specific framing devices that I've used for the first time. Which I've mentioned before. A mimicking of Splinter Cell's news report briefings, explain why we are fighting the Russians. And then the same at the end to show the aftermath.

And I've asked BewBewDingo to draw some art pieces for "The Badgers", the name of our resistance group. With ZF Bavon writing and singing an increasingly accusatory jingle, in which it becomes harder and harder to explain our clan bullshit in the context of liberators. Ending with it being clear that we're basically just terrorists.

And as always, I've continued my flare for "over-editing", the final polish I hope shows through. And I've found I've learnt a few tricks for the next project.

For now though, for better or for worse, I am exhausted. So will some time to rest. I will certainly be around a plenty in the comments, both here and on Youtube if you have any questions whatsoever. As always thank you very much for your very generous support xx

As always, let me know if you spot any whoopsies in the text. I'm sure there's a couple. It's always very hard to proof something you're working on. Fresh pairs of eyes are always welcome :)

PizzaDiPasta123

I fucking LOVE it! Turned out brilliant! Great work, man! (whoosie at 16:25 - not weeboo but weeaboo :) will have a closer look tonight, when I have a better monitor than my phone at uni xD)

Worgon

It's awesome but I'd be concerned that using the ISIS imagery might set off YouTube sensors or possibly be flagged and fuck you over if you're planning on monetizing the video.

Felfyre

Absolutely loved it Womble! It was fantastic and well worth the wait!

Stephanie

It's excellent - absolutely worth the wait. The Badgers songs just about had me in tears - the second one in particular. I know you joke about the over-editing, but seriously, it's just so well done and the effort you put into every single frame really shows.

Dafko

Thanks for an another great video :) small whoopsie @16:29 "it'll alright it'll buffout"

VioletRiot161

definetly the best video you've done so far <3 the badger songs were just brilliant :D

Prototype

I think I can say, without hyperbole, that this is your best vid yet. It is obvious that a lot of work went into it, and it really paid off. Well done Womble!

sabatonsky

Don Brandeone

Absolutely amazing soviet. Clearly your best work so far. Feel feel to take a break, everyone deserves time off in the summer :)

Ravenchef71

Great work! As always! Enjoy your break, my man. Go to Spain, relax on the Beaches, enjoy yourself!

Erlend TK

@ 15:20 trifled is written "triffled"

Evan Thompson

That was brilliant dude, love it. The newscasters were definitely a nice touch

Erlend TK

Good job, holy shit, but I think it could have been better. Not for a particular flaw or anything like that, but because of the effort this movie seems to have cost you. From the outside these monster videos (M&B incl.) look like twice the work for equal pay, aka one video every two months, even if they are blockbusters. Since it's more set piece centric and narrative driven than most of your videos since "Siege at Willow lake", did you ever consider splitting this one up, like with those three? Not trying to be a dick here, sorry, but if you were to go the way of Frankie because you'd worked yourself to death over our stupid crowd demands of "x number of videos at this interval or we riot", it'd be a huge loss. Anyway, the film's quality, love the experimenting, and the meat shield scene is an instant classic. Enjoy your holidays!

Lithium3595

Great job Soviet. One of the best videos you've made. All that voice work really brought it together

Chieftain

Thats probably the best video you have made to this point. I absolutely love it. Especially the "civilian tourist" part was great. Also the newscasters were a really nice tool to introduce the viewer at the start and keeping the video from ending abruptly. Nice work. Now take your well deserved break!

razputin meiller

10/10 Brillant video, Awesome editing and just all round funny and it makes me want to get back into arma

JBar88

10/10 great video, maybe your best yet. Now go take a vacation with Lulu

LilMissHixi

Probably your best video yet, I loved it XD you've definitely earned a vacation after that

James Day

Fucking Hilarious!

Nicky

Excellent work as always. Enjoy your little break (after finishing warhammer ;)

namAehT

The only suggestion I can think of is that most news channels will have a zoomed in and blurry version of the video they are playing if it's portrait. Other than that, fucking stellar video Womble. You should do more "news" channel stuff. Hell, I'd watch a michinima if you made one.

youngstormlord

Excellent work. How did you make the bouncing ball during the badgers hymn?

Antifis

This was definitely worth the wait! Amazing work!

SummerGirrl

I love the video! You definitely deserve a holiday, specially after this one. The Newspart was done amazingly, it fits perfectly. Very well done, Womble :)

Martin

What a treat this was! Well done, Sir!

Dominic Cave

Amazing vid. Definitely your best editing work to date. Now rest up.

DarkSolace

Honestly that was amazing, quite a couple of points where it was absolutely genius (loved the jingle). Thank you for all your hard work, I enjoyed it quite a lot.

Bludd

Wow that was fantastic. Have a good rest and see you soon, Sovvie

Pen-Annwn

Nice and funny themed video. You, sir deserve a victory wank now, congratz! :)

MagicMax

This is quite possibly the best video yet! :) I didn't spot any whoopsies, only it seems that in the first 10 minutes the voices from other zf members are sometimes a bit hard to hear. Other than that there is nothing to say except enjoy that well deserved time off!

Galobus

Loved it mate, quality content more so than ever! Fucking lost it when the isis jingle started playing

Jakob Brink

Why does this remind me of that IRA documentary that "accidentally" used Arma 2 footage?

Edward Wong

Soviet, U have taken this to whole new level!

Alexander Gorny

Byebye Monetization! Absolutely great! Well done Womble and Everyone else who worked on this. This is your best one, by far!

MadScientistJake

holy hell this was fantastic. this may be the best bullshittery yet.

Maija Salenius (Elzariel)

I join the parade of "Best one yet!" just because its just that. Totally worth the wait! Now go take your damn holiday you loony.

Bennet Jürges

This was absolutely brilliant, this whole video worked so perfectly in of itself. You outdid yourself.

DukeShank

Loved the video. Brilliantly edited and put together!

Tango Alpha Roma Nova

I can’t watch it, the link says that the video has now been removed? 😭

Oscar S

To all of those out there who didn't get their voice lines included (and Womble), would you give permission for me or someone else to make a video showcasing all your entries? It'd be a nice thing to do just to kinda show off what you all did and also so others could see and hear the effort that we fans are willing to put in to help Soviet.

Sarah Strachan

I laughed, I cried, I can't stop singing that bloody badger song. Good work, one of the best so far.

Tango Alpha Roma Nova

...wow that was quick 😯 ...but it certainly was worth the wait 😊🙌🏽 I don’t know how you keep out performing yourself SovietWomble but again you are amazingly impressive Thank you 🙏🏽

Filipe M Correia

Hey I'm getting a youtube notification that the user has removed the video, anyone else?

Oliver King-Begg

This was fantastic! I didn't even realize I had watched 26mins when I got to the end! The wait was so worth it

Ray pellegrino

Womble you never cease to surprise us with your amazing content. I have an ides for the next one. Just see how it goes, im thinking maybe shorter videos pumped out more often might put less stress on you. Like shorter as in 10-15 minute videos. I understand you get carried away with it and alway make them much longer and better than predicted but its just an idea

Max

Legendary as always soviet keep up the amazing work you utter champion

Profanitizer

Yo womble, great vid as always. I've been looking around, but can't find anything on what mods and specific scenario was used? Were you playing the 1.8.0 version of antistasi?

DCAR

I find the Arma/DayZ bullshitteries top tier. Especially cause they're both games that are very in sync with the ZF mentality we love. What does surprise me to be honest is that the footage you make in the mission editor is really-really crude compared to the ludicrous work you put in in postprocessing. Why? The A3 editor allows you to pre-record vehicle and infantry movements. There's a ton of animations you can apply using the switchmove command, nevermind all the camera options. They could've really fleshed out the last minute and a half of this bullshittery. Also, how much did Putin pay you to get a cameo?
