Please forgive me, I'm afraid my work efficiency insofar as Youtube editing is concerned hasn't been on top form this week. Owing to the fact that I've been feeling quite weak due to a change in diet. I've been trying to cut out sugar and caffeine and blimey does that adjustment hit you harder than you'd expect. I've been sleeping like a brick. Regardless, an update on the latest Youtube video.

So its the third week of work on part 10 of the DayZ Standalone video critique. And I'm very much into the editing phase of the first part. The script is complete and I'm happy with it. And I've since gone onto voice record and cut together the first third of it.

So the first third would be:

1.)Anintroduction (3 minutes long)

2.)Abriefoverviewof"Agile"and"SCRUM" (7 minutes long)

3.)Adiscussionaboutthesevereenginechallengestheyface.(10 minutes)

With the other two thirds being.

4.) Over complexity in scoping (15 minutes)

5.) A look at the development concept of the "MVP"(20minutes)

My fears that this would be the longest of the chapters appear to be justified. I estimate that each of the three points are between 10 and 20 minutes in length, as I break down and analyse my observations from their dev blogs based on my previous experience as a QA Analyst.

Naturally that's too much to present all in one piece. So what I'll try to do is finish this first 20 minute segment, get it to you for your feedback, and then let you decide whether you're happy for me to continue directly onto the second and third.

Additionally, I've since passed over the idea of making this a single gigantic video. That seems unpractical from a rendering and quality assurance perspective. Instead I'll make a playlist of 10 videos for the entire project, which would also let people comment and respond under specific chapters with their thoughts and feedback.

Also I've decided to use After Effects and Premiere for this final chapter. Primarily because I'm much more experienced with these two now, compared to Sony Vegas. And also because I can use After Effects will make it look much better.

In terms of time estimates (always a tricky thing), I don't think I'll be able to finish this first part by the end of next week (week 4). Since the zombie chapter was also 20 minutes long and if I remembering it correctly that was certainly a 5 weeker. But I'll do the best I can.

So video 10 would be some 40 minutes in length? Or were you actually looking to split that one apart?

Are you planning on "remastering" the previous parts in After Effects as well?

Salt Titan

Awesome, take your time man. Should be an interesting watch at the end (having never played any version of DayZ).

Hope your doing well soviet, and don’t over work yourself

I can't wait to see that, but still, take your time. Are you going to release the 10 videos on the same day or are you gonna space them ?

Dominic Tosto

You’re just going through withdrawal. It will get better in a few weeks and you’ll be happy in the long run. WE ARE BEHIND YOU!!

40 minutes on one part with the 1-1,5 hour of the other parts? Nah man, that's too much imo. But your decision..

Just a question, I don't know how detailed your script is. Maybe you can share this to some of us, that we can review it earlier. Might save you some time in the process of voice recording. // talking about the question from 10 days ago, to check for mistakes within the agile/scrum part

Hi Womble. I am probably just stupid, but i can't find the previous chapters of the critique. I know you've uploaded them at one point but as far as i can tell, they are gone. Or i am just blind. Any chance that they are still around somewhere and you can pass me a link? I've seen them once i remember, but i lost sight on them for quite a while and i cant even remember half the stuff that was in them.
